The staff at this TutorTime location is absolutely incredible. They truly take the time to get to know you and your family, which makes such a difference when it comes to trusting someone with your children. All three of my kids transferred here after our previous location closed, and we were so fortunate that some of the best teachers moved with us. Debbie is nothing short of the fairy godmother of the school--her kindness, patience, and dedication were such a blessing for my oldest. My two younger children have had the joy of working with Ms. Taylar, Ms. Maliah, and Ms. Mellissa, just to name a few. These women are amazing. Their love for children is genuine and shines through in everything they do. It's rare these days to find a childcare facility filled with staff who not only do their job well, but also pour their hearts into caring for kids. This school was sooooo incredible for my daughter and son. We loved every single teacher they had (Mr Drew, Ms Connie, Ms Dina, Ms Melissa (sooo incredible). Been coming here for a few years. My daughter had amazing loving staff all from 1yr to 4. My granddaughter also attends, and there are great people there. Sometimes it hasn't been perfect but when I voiced my concerns all was addressed. I think 4.5 stars would be my review but I will round up because of the improvements! It is very secure there. They have a great app to look in on how your little ones are doing as well- and they send pics and updates through the day! read more

Both of my children have attended here for a total of 3 years and counting. Every teacher knows their names and their unique personalities! The facility is clean and safe. I am grateful for their flexibility and hours to make my work life possible. We have made friends with the parents of our children's friends. I have to say I love this place I move my daughter from another daycare to this one and we have had nothing but rave reviews for this one kids are always napping when I show up and it's really hard to get a whole classroom full of infants to be asleep bravo ladies bravo gentleman.... This Particular Tutor Time location is terrible. They have no compassion for kids who struggle with transitions. No empathy for working parents who are struggling to keep their world together. The director here is more interested in being "professional" to the point of coldness. They give my dairy allergic kid cheese pizza, and she broke out in hives, even though they were told about the allergy and it's in her file. If your child is a perfect little automaton that does nothing to disrupt the daycare "perfect schedule and location" then this is the place for you. read more

My grandson recently went here. I would not recommend ! Children are always crying at drop off, I mean like the entire classroom, every day at drop off ! The teachers are not good with children who have separation anxiety. Numerous times we watched cameras and he was sitting at table alone crying. He didn't go back and 3 weeks later they still haven't called to see where he is ? The registration fee should be returned since he only went here like 3 weeks. Staff is very rude and not engaging with parents or grandparents. Ignore family most of time..address concerns with front desk and things never change . Terrible place read more

My son was there for 3 days in the 3 year old room with a teacher who has been there for 12+ years, so I was really excited for my son to start. He was there 3 days.... His first day he was punished for using a pacifier, it was put in the freezer. That same day he came home with his diaper inside out, and was covered in urine. Then we got the magical gift of strep throat. 10/10 would not recommend. Read the reviews before going. read more

My daughter and her husband enrolled our grandson here about a year ago. He was two and this was his first experience in any type of school situation. He struggled at first, but with the loving touch and guidance of Miss Dina, we saw him adjust, have fun, learn, and enjoy all the activities. Miss Dina was the perfect fit for him. He is now with Miss Rosslyn and his progress continues. Miss Rosslyn knows just the perfect thing to say or do to keep the children engaged and happy all the while learning. Both these wonderful teachers work hard to treat the children like one of their own. I would give both of them 5/5 stars ! FYI: My husband and I (grandma and grandpa) drop him off and pick him up ... we are in and out of the school daily. read more

Hello, I am a former teacher and parent at this Tutor Time location. I worked there twice but I quit Jan 2017 for personal reasons. I had two children who still went to Tutor Time after I quit. I entrusted my children under the care of the teachers that were there because I knew the ends and outs of things were operated and the teachers there were great. However, slowly teachers started leaving. And my son's behavior started to change. My son and his twin sister both were in the JrK . I asked his direct teacher several times how my son was doing. I would get very , matter -of-fact responses such as " He is fine." I sent a couple emails about my concerns. However, on Oct 19th, 2018 the director( Shannon) pulled me in the office to discuss my son's behavior and now suddenly they wanted to move him from JRK to PK3. They went behind my back and did observations on my son with upper mamangement and Quality First without my consent. What made me upset the most is the fact I use to work there and no one told me that there were concerns for my son even when I asked. As a former teacher there st Tutor Time I personally would never not tell a parent when and if there was an observation on a child. And as a former manager at a Child Care Center I would partner with the parents ensuring that I did the best we could do to help that child as opposed to moving him or her to another class that was not in same placement as their peers. After decided to remove my son from Tutor Timr, my son told me that he got in trouble for hitting another child and they are sent into the office with the director. While in the office , the "office manager" (Andrea) walked my child to a room that permits children to where diapers. As s form of discipline a diaper was placed on my son. According to state licensing it is cruel to put diapers on children as a form of discipline. My stated that the teacher took off his underwear, the kids were laughing at him and another teacher was in there and told him to stop crying. He said, "I am not a baby , I am four!!" My son is fully potty trained and he does not have accidents. My son was humiliated and shamed. Do not send you children to this school. The teachers that I trusted are no longer work there and the new teachers that go there are just there as bodies. And the management there are very caddy, they lie and they are all about numbers. Note: Just because someone as a degree on ECE does not mean they are qualified for the job for children from 0 -5 years old. It is gift to know how to love, nature and respect children, period. I am disgusted with the actions of the teachers and management. I am hurt that they thought it was appropriate to put a diaper on my son. I pulled my children out and since then he has been doing better. However, anytime we go into the direction of the school he panics. It is my belief that there was psychological damage that was done. I am praying that any children that may have experienced the same treatment my son did they will speak up. Unlike my son at the time did not have the language to tell me. Instead he was hitting me at home, unpacking his hurt, pain and the aniexty he experienced. Once I told him he did not have to go back to Tutor Time he was able to share his pain and his truth. Prayerfully, things will change. I am praying that the truth and teachers will come forward and help my son find resolution. I am only posting this to expose the truth. God bless. read more

This place serves high sugar, high sodium, gmo, non-organic drinks and food to the young children in their care with utter disregard for their developing bodies. Thanks to coming here 5 days a week, my God daughter is addicted to highly processed, high sodium, high sugar foods and when she's home, she refuses to eat fruits and vegetables OR DRINK WATER. She would rather literally go hungry all day than eat healthy food made at home. My children have been apart of the Tutor Time Family for years and my children love their teachers as family because they have connected so well with them from the beginning! I have one in the infants and one in the threes currently and I absolutely love all of the staff!!! If you ever have any issues - the staff will resolve them immediately! Our children have been going here now for a little over a year and I have wanted to write a review several times but never quite made the time, which is a shame because this place is the best. I have read horror stories of other locations and other daycares, I did extensive research through the state website on their past inspections and also toured this location twice before choosing it for our family. Placing the most precious people in your life into someone else's hands is a scary ordeal and you want it to be right, for us this is the right place and I will tell you why. Shannon, the director for this location, is energetic and positive. Shannon has a great mind for running her business effectively and making sure that her people are taken care of and in the right positions to adequetly utilize their talents, I love how well you see her and the staff working together. Shannon not only runs a great business but as a parent had I not been looking for this interaction it would seem that Shannon is taking care of the most precious assets at all times, our children, and everything else just falls in line perfectly. In passing one day my son had shown Shannon a spider bite he had on his ankle that I was taking him to the dr later that day for. The next day when I ran into her she remembered to ask about how he was and if everything was ok for him, she always remembers the kids names and whats going on in their lives. The staff, is just like Shannon, they know our kids...teachers that aren't a part of their classroom know my kids names and what they like and many of them have their own little greetings or teases that my kids and that teacher do with each other. It is so evident that every person that is in the facility takes pride in loving the kids and making it the best day they can for them until mommy or daddy return (and if they don't have that mindset they are gone pretty quick). In each class they put up a family picture for each kid too, if one of my kids is having a hard day they will take that kid to go see their sibling for a hug. It is truly all about the kids. The curriculum has been great and my kids have learned so much. The school is even going into an accredited curriculum now so I can only imagine how much more they will learn through fun activities. My children have had so many special teachers that they and I fully enjoy and trust such as Ms. Heather, Ms. Karen, Ms. Dina, Ms. Rosalyn, Ms. Kristen and so many more I wish I knew all their names. The ladies that run the front desk are also amazing with customer service and always brighten my day...they deal with some very demanding/ needy parents and do it with such ease and patience. If you are looking for a daycare for your precious babies I highly recommend this location. Check it out, meet Shannon, meet the staff. We did a trial day to see how our kids liked it. And of course stop by when you can in the middle of the day, the staff doesn't change throughout the day, what you see when you get there is the same thing you see when they don't know you are watching. I've had my daughter enrolled here for a little over a year and it started out well enough.. but quickly it has turned into a nightmare. My child is bounced from room to room and often times it is difficult to find her in the afternoons. When she transitioned into the pre-school class last month EVERYTHING went down hill. Her teacher Ms. Alex doesn't seem interested in the kids when I pick my daughter up she is always sitting off to the side on the tablet while the kids are running around and screaming. Yesterday we found a pair of her underwear glued to a wad of art projects in the bottom of her cubby and no one could explain how this could have happened. Leads me to believe my daughter isn't being watched. My daughter has contracted 2 major illnesses since transitioning into this room not even a month ago and when I reported this to the director she has seemed uninterested and unconcerned. She's rude and has lied on several occasions to me and my spouse about how things have been handled. There have been several times that my daughter has had an incident happen and no one had bothered to tell us until we had brought up that our daughter had told us about it. I actually paid a visit to the Tutor Time located on Bell Road today because I'm thinking about enrolling my son in a preschool program AFTER he turns four years old this summer and I'm just doing some shopping around. I do admit that I'm highly disappointed with the lady who gave us a tour of the place today. First of all, she didn't understand ANY of my questions! My son is currently going through potty training and I want for him to master this skill before I enroll him in anything. I kept making this perfectly clear to this lady but for some reason, she kept thinking that I wanted this program to potty train him or to change his diapers and even wipe his hiney for him! I was seriously offended! THIS WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE QUESTIONS THAT I ASKED!! I asked questions for the concerns that I have for my son's safety and well being, and for the sake of NOT catching any viruses from other children. I NEVER asked this lady to have this program potty train him or wipe his behind! Why would ANYBODY want that for their child?? She was CLEARLY NOT LISTENING TO MY QUESTIONS! And she sure didn't answer them! I am one of those parents who is very protective of my child and I feel that, as a parent, I have EVERY RIGHT to ask the questions that I ask if my son is going to be around a certain environment! So, my questions may be stupid to her, but to me, asking questions about things that concern me (especially when it comes to my child) is a responsible act on any parent's part, and I HAVE to ask these questions! Because I don't know other children's hospital records; I don't know what diseases other children might have. I just know that I don't want my son being exposed to anything. And these programs HAVE to think about things like that! For this lady to not know how to put on her listening ears and actually HEAR the questions already shows her LACK of responsibility! If she can't convince me that my son will be safe in that environment then Tutor Time is REMOVED from the list! There's NO WAY I'm going to enroll my son into a program where the employees CANNOT demonstrate 100% responsibility! Good luck with keeping their business going! I came in here on a co-workers recommendation for childcare since I work in the area & was looking to finding adequate childcare for my young daugther. I came in to simply ask questions and possibly get a tour of the facility. I was greeted by a very friendly young lady at the front desk. Behind her, sat a very rude woman who I later found out to be the director of the center. Every question I asked, the director would retort back the answer. She would not allow the young lady at the front desk to do her job. She either lacked the confidence in her employee that she knew the answers or she was just plain rude. Mind you, the director sat with her back turned to me the entire time as she was very busy cutting shapes and letters out of a laminated sheet of paper, that she could not address me herself. I feel the more appropirate response would be for her to turn around, introduce herself to me, and seem interested to gain my business. She literally could care less that a potential client (i.e revenue source) was inquiring about her facility. I was then taken back by another young lady who showed me the rooms where the children were kept and for a day care facility, it all looked up to par. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary and the caregivers seemed friendly enough. On my way out, I was handed some paperwork with the typical terms and conditions and etc. Once again, the director still sitting there occupied cutting her letters and shapes out, never bothering to even acknowledge me. However, she was interrupted when one of the staff members approached the front carrying an unruly child who was kicking and screaming wildly, asking the director how she wanted the situation handled. The director simply said "put him over there until I can get to him!" in a very mean and stern voice, as she continued to sit there and cut her letters and shapes, as that was a critically important task that needed to be handled right then. I immediately threw the brochures and documents I was handed in the garbage on my way out. I later reported back to the co-worker who refered me originally and I told her about what happened. And she said "oh yes, that's Kelly, she is the director of the center and yes you are right, she is extremely rude, I dont even get a "Good morning" out of her when I am dropping my son off, but the good thing is, she is not the one who will be watching your kid." True, but as the director of the center, you SET THE TONE for what is acceptable in your facility. The employees will see her treat parents and behave in that way and follow suit. Interestingly enough, I receive a voice mail from the assistant director a few days later to let me know they have spots available and that they'd like to enroll my child for care at their facility. I'm sure they have PLENTY of spots open with treatement like that. There are PLENTY of day care facilities in the area that will treat you and your children in a respectful manner. Tutor Time at 23rd Ave & Happy Valley is not one of those facilities. read more

Took my son here for a couple months or so. I stay at home with him but wanted him to gain some independence and have fun with some kids his own age. So I signed him up for a couple of half days a week. He hated it, of course, I wasn't worried the first couple weeks but his fits seemed to get worse and start earlier as time went on. I wondered about it and would call to make sure he was ok. A couple times they told me he had been crying for hours saying "mama" over and over. So I started picking him up earlier and earlier. The day the head teacher of his group told me she just tells him mama will be back soon and has him stand by the window and watch for my blue car was his last day there. I get it toddlers are a handful and my son has always had his mom around. I just wanted them to try and get him to participate in activities as opposed to just telling him to look for me when I had no intention of going back for five hours. Why didn't I voice this to the facility? Because if I have to explain to you that stringing toddlers along and giving them expectations that will never materialize is not ok then you shouldn't be watching toddlers. Everyone knows to a toddler 5 minutes can seem like forever and five hours or even an hour just isn't even within their capability to grasp. I thought it was really cruel for them to string him along like that just to get him to shut up easier. And I am saying that as a less than perfect parent who is surrounded by children not 8 hours a day five days a week but 24/7. That's midnight bottles for the newborn, 3am nightmares for the toddler, 5am good mornings from my morning person 8 year old and 10 am wake up calls for the teenager of the house. Plus I have to go go go all day everyday. So trust me I don't judge very easily. Children are exhausting and it takes a special kind of person to watch a bunch of babies and toddlers all day, which is why I am giving them two stars as opposed to one. He never had diaper rash or any injuries. He would have dried up tear stains all down his cheeks every time though. In short, they seem to take good care of the physical persons they're in charge of. The staff from the front desk to the teachers seem to be very distracted by their personal lives and office gossip. Whenever they can they're talking to each other instead of engaging with the children. They will absolutely let a kid scream or sit in a corner withdrawing and scared. From where I am today, I would not take my kid here. I would not recommend them at all either but if you need a place with availability and is affordable your child's physical person will be cared for adequately but if they have any issues adjusting to the new environment I would start looking for a new place. read more
