Jeff had initially told me $3800 for my rather large deck plus we needed a wheelchair ramp that I thought to be impossible to build given the space of good solid ground he had to work with up the street. My mom had to have it. Her health isn't good. Jeff explained to me that there could be more added at the end depending on what took place at my mom's home. If it turned taking him the entire 5 days he allotted for my two projects the total would $6100.00 which I thought was a great deal due to the situation at my mom's. Jeff and I decided to knock my Deck out then move to my mom's. These guys were done with my deck in 2 days. But when they finished at my mom's and was packing up to leave after day 3 I was astonished. Especially when Jeffrey came to collect for the job. I paid $3,000 up front like Jeffrey asked. Almost four years ago I chose some hands scraped man-made flooring to go into my new home. About 3…read moreyears ago I noticed there was some pitting coming into the middle of the planks, they had been filled in with putty. you might say they used defective wood in my home, and putted it and use magic markers on the floor to hide other imperfections. Then I begin to notice raw edges where the planks are supposed to butt up against each other. they are beginning to splinter. My house was like $200,000 brand new. One day recently, I reached down to pick something up out of the floor. And I stuck this long splinter into the end of my finger. This is In many many different places. I called Kimberly flooring almost two and a half months ago, she sent her husband over to take a look. He was supposed to send some district manager by to inspect my floor which never happened. I live alone, have no dogs. I do have a cat declawed, it's a Bengal cat. I have a dehumidifier so it's not like the floor has too much humidity or not enough. I'm a very immaculate person, almost to the point of being obsessive about everything looking very clean. I gave them plenty of time to get back with me. I began calling them two weeks ago, have yet to speak to Kimberly or her husband. I did speak with a receptionist about 10 days ago she informed me they were going to come over and putty my floor. I told her the floor had been putted when they installed it. That's like putting a Band-Aid on it it's going to come out again when I clean it. The putty had came out, as I cleaned it at least once a week. I have called and called yet to hear from them. I have stuck a splinter in the end of my toe in the last 6 months, and one in the end of my finger. I have just contacted the builder today to try to get in touch with them for me. I have checked, this material has a great warranty as I was told it did when I picked it out, but a warranty is just as good as the people who put it down and who you buy it from. A very dissatisfied customer.

With his help and my research, we decided on Behr Premium Semi-Transparent Waterproofing Stain and Sealer (It is supposed to last 6 years on horizontal surfaces. Hope it will.) Peter did an unbelievable job prepping the deck by pressure washing. We had a lot of mildew in the shaded areas and he took great care to get it all before sealing the deck. Our HVAC guy came that afternoon and thought we had a new deck. Peter's crew did a great job of the deck, the railings, and the support edges for the deck. Everything is smooth and the deck looks brand new. We have 8X10 rough cut lumber from an old cotton warehouse in Huntsville that is 150 Years old that we used 50 years ago when we built the house for beams and support on our front porch. The lumber really needed lots of TLC and it was lovingly provided to keep this piece of history alive for us.
