For this job, I wanted to improve our curb appeal by adding prettier stone borders around planters and changing out a tree in the front lawn. Luis helped me pick out stones and what tree would work best. D&G is extremely professional and offers all of the extra little technological touches (like email/text appointment reminders, clear quotes provided in a portal, follow up instructions on how to care for your new landscaping, etc.) that make your business transaction very smooth. We did complete rebuild of our lawns, drainage and irrigation in front and back after a pool build. They were very professional and friendly and clear in communication and best of all the crew did a fantastic job. Very honest as well. They thought they would need more rock than they ended up using and removed it from the bill without being asked to. I have now used D&G on three major projects (2024, 2025 and now in early 2026). I have been very pleased with the results on each of these projects. Luis, this owner, is onsite the majority of the time and that is something that is rare anymore for any company. They have done complete landscaping jobs with all new plants - they have resodded my front yard, maintained my synthetic backyard grass, installed a drainage system, installed chop stone borders with bull rock, trimmed trees and repaired/retuned my sprinkler system. There really isn't anything in the landscaping arena that they haven't done for me. The crew has always been friendly and hardworking and try very hard to do exactly what you want done. Pricing is reasonable, not cheap, but not expensive either. I have a lot of faith and trust in this company and plan to continue to use them. Only small issue is that they are good and therefore are fortunate to have a lot of business, so you may have to wait 2-3 weeks for them to come during the busy times of the year, but it is worth the wait. Luis was prompt to come out to our home to go over what we wanted, provided a professional fair priced quote and executed the install quickly (2 weeks from initial meeting to start of project). I've used D&G twice! The first time I had them come and install gravel and stepping stones in the rear of my yard so I could walk around my garden with having to walk in mud and wet grass. They did an excellent job, came on time, and finished the work on schedule. I had them come back the following year to have them add a walkway to different area of my backyard. They tied it into the existing gravel and walkway that was done the previous year. The finished project looks great and has met my expectations. read more

Contacted them for a bid on a landscaping project. They told me it'd be 2 weeks before they could send someone out. I said no problem. They called me a couple of times to make sure I'd be home for the gentleman who was coming to make the bid. I assured them I would be. On the appointed day the nice guy shows up on time. Writes down my project info, takes measurements, we discuss materials. He says he'll send me a bid over the weekend, as it was Friday afternoon. Great, I will look forward to that. Since then it's been three weeks, and nothing. No bid, no email, no call. Maybe my project wasn't big enough for them (build 20 feet of low retaining wall and replace some drainage pipe, and other odds and ends). A call or an email saying they couldn't do the job would've been courteous at least. Or maybe they just lost track of my bid, which doesn't say much for them either. read more

They arrived at the time and date promised, and completely replaced the landscaping at our daughter's house. The plants were all healthy and good sized, and when the job was done they cleaned the whole area. They also repaired the existing irrigation system for a very reasonable charge. As it turns out we over-ordered a flat of plants, but instead of handing them to us saying "that's your problem", Luis took back the plants and deducted their value from the final bill. Being new to the state of Texas, I made the mistake of trusting someone whom I believed to be a friend and hired them to install an irrigation system. After multiple excuses it turned out I was simply being scammed. My yard was destroyed and the work done was amateur and in completed. Worst part was I already paid him more than half like an idiot. I should have known better than to mix business with friendship. I contacted D & G Landscaping and in only one day and for a very fair price, they repaired the damage to my yard and installed a top of the line irrigation system with approximately 8 zones. These guys came to handle business and kept it professional. Additional they performed some landscaping work and installed 2 stone pathways along side my driveway, widening the space to allow my 2 vehicle to fit much more efficiently. They even did me a solid and removed an old natural gas BBQ grill that was cemented to the ground in my backyard for no charge. It's hard to trust people now and days and kindness is unfortunately often taken for weakness but it's good to know companies like D & G are out there. I need to get an irrigation system water hammer fixed, so I am calling around and getting quotes. Multiple companies with higher star ratings than D&G are coming out to look at it to give me an estimate. D&G charges a shocking (and insulting) $150 charge just to look at it! In other words, they know their estimate will be higher, but they will lock you in by keeping your money if you don't hire them. That is a major red flag that you will be unhappy. I hired this company through yelp to redo the walkway on the side of my house. They came out the same day, we discussed the work and awarded them the job. They showed up Monday to do the job. I was really surprised at how fast they were working. Within 2 hours they had removed all the old landscape materials and left to pick up the new material. Once they returned they worked for about 3 more hours and finished. When we went out to inspect the job, some things just did not seem right. The level of detail and quality just seemed off. Like it was rushed. I also noticed the pavers layout seemed off. Turns out it was missing 2. They agreed to come back and put them in. I called them later and told them about some of the other quality issues I wanted addressed. Once they arrived I told them to fix the edging in the back and that I wanted the pavers leveled and spaced properly. After about 30 minutes I went outside to check on the progress and they were gone. They fixed the edging but did not touch the paver walkway. I called them back and they said they would come back and fix it. That was Tuesday. I told them I needed it completed before the weekend. They never showed up or called back. By Friday evening it was clear to me that they were not coming. I needed this fixed so I had to do it myself. It really sucks to pay a company to do a poor quality job. None of the pavers were level. Looking down the side of the walkway you could see them tilting left or right and it was just wavy across the entire length. I pulled a level string from front to back. The path dipped 3" in one section! Once I started redoing all this it was clear to me that they just rushed the job. They spent no time leveling the ground. This is a must for patios and walkways to have a proper foundation. They just slapped down the new pavers, backfilled with gravel and left. I spent 6 hours with a broken rib redoing this job myself. The before pictures you can see how wavy and unlevel everything is. The after pictures (pavers and gravel are wet) are my attempt at fixing this. Mines not perfect but it's a lot better. I feel like they are capable of doing good work, but just rushed mine for some reason. I also feel like they knew exactly how much work it was going to be to straighten the pavers and split. It took way more work to redo this than if they had just leveled the ground in the first place. read more

My wife and I had recently purchased a renovated home that we love, and the only real items remaining to be addressed were all landscaping related. I had an idea of what I wanted done around the yard, but I was having difficulty locating a reliable contractor that I could trust and who would be responsive and timely in communicating back with me. There's no way I was willing to trust those companies with something like what all I wanted performed at our new property. I read the reviews of D&G via Yelp and some of the things that stuck out to me were how people described them as being honest and dependable. Those qualities are very important to me when doing business with anyone. The photos on their website showed good looking results, plus they had a good history with good Yelp reviews. I contacted D&G leaving a message. It wasn't half an hour later that I had a return phone call with an appointment set up for a representative to come by my property the next day. Luis came out to my property (nice newer vehicle with a D&G logo on it that made me feel the company is legit) and we toured what all I wanted performed. To my surprise D&G is a full service landscaping contractor who could perform all of what I wanted done under one bid! Luis provided his mobile and was responsive to my text messages, often responding within half an hour or barely past. We communicated with photos, exchanged ideas, and after some negotiation we settled on a fair price for what all work I wanted performed. I received extensive landscaping remodeling and the end results have helped to transform our new property in to the home my wife and I saw when we decided to purchase it. I hired this service to help restore my backyard raised bed. There was extreme overgrowth from the previous residents. The weeds and leaves, yard debris had pretty much taken over, so i wanted to clear it completely, treat the weeds and mulch. The large area encompasses the entire perimeter of the backyard, so the job took them a few hours to complete. I was so pleased of the final result, I referred them to a couple friends for their landscaping needs as well! They were very responsive and respectful. You can tell a lot about a business from their initial intaking. My impression is that they are flaky and unreliable with poor communication skills. They did a great job and provided bi-weekly landscaping and lawn care maintenance for us. D&G Landscaping did an OK job on my project. I needed to have some bushes and shrubs trimmed, 4 dead bushes removed and replaced, and some general weeding and cleanup around the flowerbeds in the front and back yards. I also hired them to do a similar project on another property of mine a month prior. I thought they did a much better job on that property than this recent job. On the other property, the trimming on the bushes was very clean and straight. It looked like it was done by a professional. On this recent project, the quality of work was ok at best but a little messy. The bushes were trimmed shorter but not very clean. I think I could've done a better job if not the same thing they did. When paying for almost $1000 for this job, I expected a little more "professional touch." They also did not explain or mentioned anything about post care for the 4 new young bushes that they planted. After the job was done, they rang the door bell and my wife gave him a check and the crew left. I probably would not hire this company again for future projects. For this price range I expected a cleaner and more professional job. Here are some positives and some negatives based on my experience with this company. Positives: Quick to respond--I've mainly interacted with Veronica on Yelp and sometimes Luis. They answered all questions and responded promptly. Met with Luis for a quote and he and his crew were very nice and friendly. Negatives: Pricey and quality of work is inconsistent. Appointments are usually difficult to book as you often have to wait 2 weeks out to get an appointment. During the 2nd project, they were late for my quote appointment and never called to let me know. During the actual day of the job, they were also late for the appointment and again, never called to let me know. All in all, I don't have bad feelings for this company. They got the job done but it was a little on the expensive side. The quality of work could be better considering they have a 3-5 men crew. I'm sure it's pricey because they have quite a few employees to pay. There should be cheaper options out there with a 1-2 men crew but they may not be insured. read more

I had Diana and her crew install paver stones along 50' of my driveway to extend my driveway 2 extra feet. They came out on Memorial Day and did an amazing job. They leveled the ground and placed crushed granite to make the base steady. I gave it two days and when I drove on them.... THEY STARTED CRACKING!!! I was so upset. But I called Diana and she got to the bottom of the problem. Their supplier gave them the wrong pavers. They came out within a few days and replaced all of the pavers. They made it look even better and didn't ask for the final payment until they made sure I was satisfied. Mistakes happen but it's how a company deals with issues that makes the difference.
