I reached out to Heights Irrigation after a friend's recommendation and they have been awesome. I'd been having some drainage issues under the pier-and-beam foundation and Juan was the first contractor that I felt was really honest with me about what was going on and what I needed. He wasnt trying to sell me anything I didnt need. His clarity and honesty convinced me to use them. They did not disappoint. The work was delayed due to circumstances beyond anyone's control but when they were able to get started, they were there on time, finished quickly, and did a quality job. They were patient in answering my many questions (sometimes too many, I think...). I had a sump installed to drain excess water and it's working perfectly. Enner and his team came out the next day, gave a reasonable quote, and was able to do the work right away. They evaluated the entire system and even found a couple leaks which they were able to repair. Backstory to the review: We moved into our home over a year ago with no knowledge of the irrigation system, drainage or plumbing. We noticed a bit of water would drain into the street from our yard and we were confused because no one told us this was an issue. We were told after purchasing the house that the pool had a leak by the previous gardener. I did not think this was the case, but I suspected it was something else. I was not a plumber so I continued searching for the leak. I called several plumbers to come over and help find the leak. One recently came over and told us there was no leak but that the drainage pipe was left incomplete and buried in our yard. I told this plumber (not part of this company I'm reviewing) there was a leak because even when it didn't rain water was constantly draining in the street. After a bit of back and forth and inspecting myself with him, we found the irrigation system pipe was leaking. He quoted us a huge amount of money for just taking the drainage pipe to the street where it belongs and told us his rate per hour (by charging is tons of money without telling us he would), so I decided I would first fix the immediate irrigation leak issue and then drainage pipe. Actual Review: I called the company and spoke with Juan Alvarez, the owner, on Wednesday. He had an opening for Friday early and Enner would come by and investigate. Juan was super approachable and kind. He reassured me that they would not bill me for coming out and giving us a quote. I was relieved. On Friday morning Enner arrived smiling with two workers. I showed him where the system was and where the leak was, as well as another spot where I had believed there was another potential leak. After 30-60 minutes of him working with the system he knocked on the door and told me the system was not working right. I was pretty shocked to find this out, but he stayed calm while investigating. He then said that to get the system working he would charge me by hour. I was freaking out, but it was worth it. In the time he used to work on the system he showed me how the previous owners shut off one of the valves to a zone because there was a pipe busted under the cement. He also discovered several other issues, including the rain sensor was not working properly. He took 2 hours or so to work on it, then gave me the quote for everything. I had in that time asked him for a quote for the drainage pipe. He gave that to me as well. Once accepted he fixed everything in one day. Enner went and picked up other workers and came back. Enner was always updating me on the progress. Every time I walked outside, he would give me and update and really was open about everything. I always felt invited to give ideas and be included, something not all do. In total, this company fixed a lot of our problems and got our system in great working order. The leaks are fixed, the system is fixed and rezoned at a good price! (And that's saying something because I'm pretty much tight with money as we are a one income household right now). read more

These guys went above and beyond to ensure not only my original issue was corrected but even fixed a few others things that would have failed later given the age of my system with no price increase. I would like to thank Mr. Juan Alvarez, his brother and their very capable crew members for their professional and considerate service. It was a highly unusual service call for them when I shared the fact that water was not reaching my existing irrigation system. Following extensive detective work Juan and his crew found and discovered the main shutoff valve for the system had been closed. Another local company installed the system in August 2018 but did not disclose the existence of the valve. Who closed the valve will forever remain a mystery but thanks to the capable professionals at H.I.D. my system is once again up and running. Amazing work! We live in Oak Forest and had some major drainage issues in our carport. Anytime it would rain, even a small amount, our carport would flood and retain water (that would cover our ankles) for days. We lived with the issue for about 2 years until we couldn't take it any longer. I got many quotes, and Heights Irrigation was reasonable and very responsive. Juan and his team were great! They came out and in less than two days were able to install a drainage system and we couldn't be happier. This was in January 2017 and even today the area looks amazing and still drains without any issue. Even with Hurricane Harvey our carport was completely dry. So happy with the company and the price. Had to repair the pipes for my sprinkler system that got damaged during a fence installation. Juan (the founder and owner) and his team showed up the same day I called (at the exact time they promised) with a big enough crew to handle any work that was required so it could be knocked out at the same time. Work was done both carefully and quickly and they went ahead and recalibrated all of our sprinkler heads while they were at it. We had Juan come out to provide a quote to install a drip irrigation system in flower beds around our back patio, as well as for some flower pots that we intended to purchase. His price was fair and he could have the work completed about a week later based on his schedule. The installation went well and he had his crew make a second trip to our home to finish installing the irrigation to the potted plants once we bought the pots and added flowers to them. He also made sure that I knew how to operate the system and made sure that it was set properly for our needs based on the summer heat. There was one problem during the install, but Juan promptly took care of it, which I appreciated. I would recommend Heights Irrigation and Drainage to others. As read in my other reviews and the fact that HID has done a few projects at our property, we definitely enjoy working with Juan and his team. For this review, HID recently installed a sprinkler system with four zones and a controller. Juan's original quote was fair and affordable. His team, which many still work with him from the previous jobs, are friendly and respectful. Juan and his guys definitely have your best interest at heart as he listens and provides you with options and his opinion on the best solution. I shouldn't forget that they did an impressive job of boring under the driveway to run a couple main supply PVC pipes. It was a tough job, but his guys never gave up. We are running out of irrigation work that could be done by HID, but if any mods or repairs are needed then we know who to call. read more

These guys were very professional and know what they are doing. My backyard in the Heights was at a low spot and previous owners just let the back flood and have stagnant water. With all the rain in Houston in May/June 2015 I needed a solution. Juan was great to work with and he and his men did an excellent job and even put the yard back together very well after digging it up. They had to go across and under a common right of way alley to get the outlet to the main drain that was used by the neighbors as a driveway and managed that situation really well. read more
