I scheduled a behind the wheel driving test at the DMV and at the last minute was in need of a car. I found Deluxe Driving School on Google and emailed them for a rental. Jessica was very responsive and made the process very easy. They offer a few different options on their website. I chose the DMV Drive Test Car Rental with 30 minutes practice time. If you meet them at the DMV you'll get ~ 1 hour of practice time. Instructor Markus met us at the DMV. He was on time, polite, helpful, and made the process extremely easy. Miguel is a horrible teacher. Miguel was impatient, loud, belittling, and rude. My daughter's driving experience with him was way more stressful than needed. He's more of a bully than teacher. don't start your class of with "I'm the best teacher in this entire driving school." You sound extremely obnoxious and full of yourself. A good driving teacher is calm and keeps the student calm as well, Miguel clearly did not care for that. My daughter and I expected a good teacher considering that my son took class Ed with deluxe driving before. Very disappointed. read more

The driving school is not as good as it used to be. Driving instructor Bryan is a waste of time and money if you are a beginner without any prior driving experience. The guy simply sits and chats about everything else other than driving. Wasted more than 14 hours of driving. Didn't even teach basic maneuvering which caused a DMV behind the test failure. Highly advice removing the instructor from the academy. And please don't book Bryan as your instructor if you really want to learn. If you just want to practice then he is ok. read more

Had 5 instructors total, most were helpful and nice but MIGUEL sucked. Had him the day of my test and he was a belligerent, impatient, condescending prick. Would repeat the same phrase over and over 10 times within 5 seconds seemingly just to be annoying. For example repeating "Hand her your permit" loudly over and over in the test line approaching the counter. To make it worse half the time he's wrong. It wasn't even the right window/counter. Driving with him was a nightmare. Made me want to leave the car while it was in motion. Scrolling through reviews on here and google I'm not the only one who's had a a problems with him. I had 9 lessons (18 hours) with this school. Easy enrollment and payment. Convenient scheduling, with reminders, too. The cars have safety breaks for the instructor. I had Anika for my instructor for 8 lessons and she was great. I had zero driving experience and she taught me step by step. She covers everything you need to know to drive safely. I feel safe when I'm with her. She is patient and professional. She gives clear instruction and explanation, positive motivation, and corrects your mistakes in a good way. Their driving skills are okay their policies are not My wife enrolled in to a 6 hour driving class. When the instructor showed up, he said I should better take the package that also includes 2 hours test preparation and to use their car for driving that costs me an extra 120 bucks. Instructor shows up for three sessions and at the end of which said your wife is not ready for DMV test. Then the fun started. I asked a refund of the extra 150 bucks they charged me and I was given a reply that they cannot do that because it is a package and their policy is not to refund. I had a long conversation with a lady in charge who then said it is their policy. I don't care what their policy is but for me what they say is they are going to keep my money which they did. So, I lost 150 bucks and so, I don't like them anymore. read more

I called to schedule a lesson for my daughter and they informed me that I must have a document proving that I had signed up with them before she goes to take her written test. He insisted that I meet up with them tonight and pay cash so that I can get this form before her test the next day. Upon further investigation, no form is needed at Calif. DMV offices anymore. A year ago, you had to provide proof that you had signed up for behind-the-wheel instruction but according to Form OLIN 2010-03 on the DMV website, it is no longer a requirement to provide proof of enrollment in behind-the-wheel training. What kind of Driver Training company doesn't know their driving laws? And why the urgency to meet up with him and give him cash? read more

Thanks to Deluxe Driving school, I was able to pass my driver's test with flying colors! At first, I was really scared and concerned about my driving abilities. All I could think of was the constant car accidents I would see on the side of the freeway, missing wheels and cop cars. After a few weeks of convincing, I decided to suck it up and go for it. I can't depend on my parents forever. My mom signed me up for the 6hr lesson package and I was on my way! They have online scheduling and payment process so it's a lot easier than doing it all in person. You can choose from a variety of cars to drive (from the Honda Civic to a Mini Cooper!!!!), the instructors are all so friendly, and management was organized and professional. The instructor came to pick me up at my convenience and we got started. My instructor, Tiffany, was extremely patient and calm during the entire lesson. I get anxiety pretty quickly but she soothed me and gave me little pep talks to ensure that I'll be safe and my passengers are safe. She taught me the key rule: "Remember, it's not just your safety in the car, but also the safety of others". Which was true!!! It's most likely that I will have passengers and I literally have their lives in my hands. After practicing with Tiffany, and further practice with my parents. I PASSED WITH ONLY 2 MISTAKES!!! I was initially hesitant on continuing with my registration for this driving school because of the hours that they listed on their Yelp page. I work full time and didn't want to lose any hours at work so I was looking for lessons over the weekends. However, their offers were just so convenient that I went ahead and paid for my class package anyway. (You can't schedule a driving lesson until after you've paid). Not only were they close to where I lived, but they also offered pick up and drop off for your lessons. And they were significantly cheaper than the Stanford Driving School. It also turns out that they offer weekend classes and you are able to choose your instructor. I just completed my first lesson with Anika (I chose her because of all the good reviews she has on here). As everyone else said, she makes you feel confident about your driving skills. I've only driven in parking lots, but she teaches you to drive in the streets right after she goes over the road rules. She is very patient and guides you well throughout the lecture. The cars that they teach with will have a brake and gas pedal on the passenger seat for your instructor to control. So far, my experience with this driving school is going well. I'd like to give them an extra bonus because Anika was able to find and pick me up from my workplace and was so patient with me. I'm looking forward to my future driving lessons. :) read more

A big shout out to Miguel Maldonado and the management team Henry. Henry was so accomodating and I thank you for this. My daughter failed two behind the wheel exams and you can imagine the nerve on her when she has only 1 more chance to take the exam before having to restart. We reached out to Henry to see if he can accommodate behind the wheel driving at Pleasanton DMV (that was the only location we could get an appointment before her driving permit expires). He said he doesn't serve that location but said he will check with Miguel Maldonado to see what they can do. They called back several times to provide options for us. At the end they were flexible enough to provide an extra session with very short notice and focus on the areas she needed help. Then they were willing to make some adjustment to their current schedule to take her all the way to Pleasanton DMV and drive her around to get her familiar with the location. I am confident having Miguel right by her calms her nerve and guess what she passed her exam and her examiner commented "you are a pretty good driver". Miguel, my daughter and I were ecstatic.
