I am happy to recommend and share my personal experience, I chose to take several lessons with Max. At first I tried a one-time lesson and then I reserved a lesson package plus a pre dmv test lesson. I took 5 sessions and a test day assist course with Max and passed driving test the first time as a new driver. I initially only booked one class with jumpstart because they have the earliest available slot on a working day morning, but Max's patience and his knowledgable presence convinced me to book much more. Specifically, he knows the in and out of driving test and would constantly give you pointers on things to look out. His attention to detail and his personality quickly calmed my nerve as a first time driver and I gained a lot of confidence in driving as a result. This is our second time using this school. We came to them when our oldest was driving and was happy with the lessons and the test day service. Now that our youngest is learning, we returned. We've had one session with Max so far and happily purchased the full package (10 hours, plus test day support). I'll post about the lessons and progress after, but wanted to give a quick appreciation. Max is incredibly booked - we didn't find out until after we scheduled the DMV test that there were no calendar appointments on the days leading to it. We rescheduled the test then contacted Max. He added us to the calendar for days that were not yet available to book. And of course, since that happened months ago, our schedules completely changed with the school year started. Chose Jumpstart after seeing a bunch of good reviews on Yelp and I was happy that I chose Max to teach me driving. He was extremely patient in teaching me from scratch. I took about 5 lessons from him along with the pre-DMV package where we went for an hour of driving right before the test. He conducted mock tests and told me where I was going wrong at the end of the class. He was always on time and quite flexible with the pick-up and drop off venue for the lessons. Had to choose between two driving schools for my exam . Max gave me one 2 hour lesson . However this being my first experience with a driving school I have to say I was not pleased or pleased . When I got in the car with max I had voiced to him that I have been driving for quite some time . I just needed some pointers on what I was doing wrong . Needless to say he acted as though I had no experience. And continued to grab the wheel several times . Which did not make me feel comfortable at all . I just don't appreciate that whole sense . His teaching approach could be fixed. All in all ended up passing my test. So there's that. He should work on professionalism and being a bit more courteous. He was constantly on the phone. I signed my daughter up with this driving school based on the Yelp reviews and was delighted with their service. I chose the 10 lesson package to give me peace of mind she'd have professional instruction (and didn't pick up any bad habits I have, which are numerous). Her instructor was Mahasty, who my daughter got on incredibly well with, she really enjoyed all her lessons and there was great continuity. They took care of her on the day of her test and all the paperwork required afterwards, she was then dropped off at home with her pass certificate! PLEASE AVOID IF POSSIBLE I spent around 6 hours driving with Max. I also used his dmv appointment booking and concierge service. Here is my review - 1] He keeps hanging up on you during phone calls while you are still talking. This happened on almost every occasion, which can't be a mistake. He keeps pretending that he is very busy and will unnecessarily try and finish conversations within a few seconds before abruptly hanging up. 2] I found him to be a very impatient driving instructor. He will shout at you, even swear at you when you make mistakes. He is a naturally frustrated person. Conversations with him were never pleasant. 3] He is not interested in answering your doubts. His responses to your questions will be - OBVIOUSLY, NO....... or even ignoring the question completely sometimes. I stopped asking him questions because of this. 4] I saw someone else posting this same review. I second that. He keeps unnecessary grabbing the steering wheel and applying his breaks even if you are an experienced driver with enough control over the vehicle and know how to drive. This makes you lose momentum and focus. He really needs to work on his teaching approach for experienced drivers. Not everyone can be taught in the same way. read more

Originally I would give it a 5 start. Mac and another driving instructor were great in helping my kid started to learn driving. We signed up for 6 hours sessions and all went well. Upon satisfying all the driving requirement , I made an apt with the DMV to have a driving test, which was scheduled 2 months in advance. When we showed up at the DMV, which asked for a driving completion certificate, that's required for people under 18. But we didn't have it. Jumpstart Driving School never mentioned it to us and we didn't receive it in the mail. I called Mac and he then mailed it out. Too late. We had to schedule another apt and it's 2.5 months out. I couldn't believe this. Wasting and waiting another 2.5 months for another test because the certificate was not mailed out to us after the completion of the 6 hour session. We like the instructors. I researched many driving schools; I detest lots of phone calls to find out about scheduling. Most importantly for me, Jumpstart had easy transparent online scheduling. Jumpstart ALSO had the best price AND a discount code on top of that. Sold. We started out on a rough foot: Mahasty arrived 15 min late for the first lesson (they never offered compensatory time, nor responded to my email about it). She had given my teen bad advice about a turn lane (which is still a source of confusion for her). I booked the last 2 sessions with Max. Pro tip: book your last session on a Saturday afternoon or anytime Sunday and request to do the actual DMV course. Max showed genuine interest in that we let him know how it went, and more importantly, he was available by text for her last minute panicked questions while she was waiting for her turn to test at the DMV!
