Friends and I recently spent an afternoon in Old Westerville and we happened to find this adorable shop after stumbling out of our lunch spot a few doors down. The bright colors, 60's-70's vibes, and fun name caught all of our attention. We didn't hesitate before nodding our heads in agreement, we had to go in! From funky clothing and jewelry to home decor, art, and kitchenware, this place just screams hippie wonderland... Take me back to the 70's please! It was wonderful. Towards the back of the building is a mini record store and that's where they hooked me! My record collection is largely oldies thanks to my grandmother. I've been on a vintage kick recently, and this shop is exactly what I was looking for! The atmosphere is really cozy - I was greeted by Charlie the (cutest) dog, and I felt comfortable taking my time to look around at everything. What a cool store! Lots of vintage items and unique gift ideas. I like walking around this small shop in uptown Westerville once every other month or so, just to see what's new. If you like to collect music, check out their vinyl, cassette, and CD offerings toward the back. The owners are really nice and definitely give it a small town mom and pop shop type of feel where everyone is welcome and you can look around without being bothered, or you can engage in conversation while you shop if that's more your style. read more

There are so many vintage and vinyl items here. In the back of the store there is a whole room of vinyl records of different artists. They do have a small selection of CD's with the vinyls in the back. In the front there are novelty small souvenir items that are vintage. Cute kitschy store. Lots of vintage and second-hand housewares stuff. Pretty cool vinyl selection considering this is a town-vibes kinda store that probably relies on local business - and traffic from the college. Based on the most recent pictures I saw on Yelp, which were over a year old, I thought AGNCL would have more vintage clothing to search thru (my main purpose for the stop), but there was not much at all - one straight-rack half full; I need to come back when this whole covid situation is well in the past, as I'm sure they've had to streamline their priorities for the time being. I really enjoy this store! From the vinyl selection to cute vintage glassware and silly stickers and random items featuring artists.. truly a cute store to look around, and you'll likely pick up a couple things that catch your eye. On my last visit I picked up a planter (handmade ceramic pottery), a pair of sunglasses, and a few records (pictured). Great little place and Charlie the dog is adorable and sweet. We dropped in for a quick visit. There's a friendly hippy laid back vibe it's really groovy! Small shop but with big choices and variety. I was sad to see Sour Records lose its old spot in uptown Westerville. It's arguable that the record shop's replacement, A Gal Named Cinda Lou, has a broader appeal, though. A Gal Named Cinda Lou has a bit of everything -- rad designer t-shirts, furniture and vintage clothing, jewelry and household items. They even find room for a small stash of vinyl records for the Sour Record junkie (like myself) who stumbles in off the street. The owner/operator was on site when I visited the shop. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about items around the store. All of the shop's decorations (and some merchandise as well) were designed and created by the owner's daughter. It's a neat concept with neat results. Who can resist an entire wall covered in vintage children's book jackets? Or a counter covered in old sewing patterns. The whole place feels like a big, crazy, hip work of art. I found myself wanting to ask if the fixtures on the walls were for sale! If I were ever going to open my own store, it would be just like A Gal Named Cinda Lou: Part vintage, part local lore, heavy on the sass. Do NOT touch that bubble record player unless you have $450, but uh, go on and try on that dress. Yes, the green one. It'll look great on you! Cinda Lou's looks like Urban Outfitters would if it weren't a corporate trust fund kid trying so hard to be cool. I'm talking authenticity, peeps. Cinda Lou has the mod furniture, but instead of $400 for a recreation, that dinette set is all-original and only $50. 1960s frosted glassware? $15 for 6 cups. Any scarf or belt in the drawer is $4. And if you're not into retro, check out the fun & afforadable tees and misc artwork from local artists. As if all those fun finds weren't enough, the entire back room is teeming with records. Vinyl isn't really my thing, but based on the rest of the store I have a hunch there are some quality treasures to be unearthed. If you can make it as far as Polaris, you can make it to Old Westerville, and if you're in Westerville there's absolutely no excuse for passing up this adorable shop.... until the day comes that I finally open my own, that is ;) read more

Wandered in to here on a Saturday morning because I saw all of the 45's hanging in the window. They have tons of stuff in there from the 50's, 60's and 70's and while that is interesting I made a bee line to the back of the store for the records! Got a record player for Christmas so I am in the process of getting vinyl from back in the day that I've either lost, gave away (dumb thing I did) or became part of the division of assets from a former relationship (should've made off with some extra ones on the low). The prices are great and the selection is eclectic to say the least but had plenty of what I liked. There was the cheapo dollar bin all the way up to a few that were $18. The bad part about the record section is that it is crowded and a bit haphazard back there. There were 3 people back there along with me and we were excuse me and bumping into one another but I got 4 LPs that I used to listen to long ago for $8 each - rock and jazz. They were playing one album in there that I used to love but couldn't recall the artists name so went to the register and asked. It was her copy she wasn't selling so we went back to find it in the stacks. No luck but while fumbling through the piles again BOOM! I found it! Kismet of the musical kind. I stumbled upon this antique store gem purely as a coincidence one beautiful Tuesday evening. En route home from work, I got the inexplicable hankering to hit up a vintage store for some crafty inspiration. A quick Yelp search revealed several solid options in Old Westerville. All said options were closed! I mean, really. Who closes up shop at 5pm on a weekday when there's so much foot traffic to be had as people flock to dinner? Regardless, I happened upon A Gal Named Cinda Lou, which was open (until 7pm). What a treasure trove! If you can get past the stench of stale nostalgia, this is quite the charming shop. It has everything from end tables to vintage vinyl; glassware to clothing; lamps to phones; artwork to games and memorabilia. I picked up two small end tables to refurbish and 4 glass tea cups to make candles out of... for a grand total of $19. I could have spent hours exploring everything in here but girlfriend was hungry. So I definitely plan to stop in when I have more time on my hands. The owner was super friendly. Mentioned that there is another Cinda Lou store in the Short North (which I also plan to scope out). The only drawback is that I believe this is a cash-only establishment. read more

This is a really neat shop in uptown Westerville. I love to take a day and browse the shops around this location a few times a year on nice days. This shop is really neat because they have so many different knickknacks and things that you normally would not see in shops or stores. This is a great store to shop for a gift for somebody. There's all different kinds of things and even gift that would put a smile on your face or maybe even Laff. I remember they had socks in there with really funny sayings on them and quirky artwork. There's a little pup that hangs out at the shop as well and I think his name is Henry. There is a little treat dispenser that you can put coins in at the very front of the store to give Henry but when we came in to look around, the shop worker gave us treats to give to him so I didn't have to pay for them although I would have. On nice days they put out chairs out front and Henry sits out there by himself like the best boy he is!! Love this little shop with cute, funky and one of a kind trinkets and gifts. This vintage consignment store kind of reminds me of the best garage sale in the world. You don't know what you're going to find there, but you could see all of it living in your house. It almost seems like it would be worth it to be on Hoarders if you could own all the things. This is one of the additions to Old Westerville that is significantly upping its 'hipness' level. This store really feels geared towards the younger crowd. The creator of much of the art is a Columbus girl, who graduated from Ft Hayes. The store itself is full of truly delightful knicknacks. The prices aren't too bad either. I found myself digging through their two huge baskets of scarves (five dollars each) and finding some absolutely incredible ones. The vintage clothing isn't chosen for absurdity, rather for wearability. They also are much better about sizes in vintage clothing. I found two dresses that aaaalmost had to be in my closet. Their record collection may not be spectacular, but its pretty good, and somewhere I will be directing my father. I seriously adore the bags they have. There were this absolutely darling little wooden whittled flowers attached to the handle of the bag. Everything was wrapped up spectacularly. They also have these free delicious chocolate peppermint things right now that are downright addictive. read more

What a gem!! I stumbled upon this treasure in downtown Westerville and am infatuated with its glamour. Upon first entering, you are transported back in time, surrounded by groovy relics of art, furniture and decor. This is by far the most extensive collection of antiques and consignments from 60's-80's that I have ever seen. The entry of the store is crowded with things of beauty, from ashtrays to clocks to jewelry, as to capture you from the moment you enter. As you flow through the store, you will find racks scattered about with vintage clothing (crochet, lace, oh my!), a large table of beautiful new and vintage jewelry and many other displays of trinkets and decor from the era. Next, you move to a sort of middle room, filled with records, boxes upon boxes of records. A very impressive, extensive collection. After you pass through the record room, there is a final room filled mostly with vintage women's clothing and a fitting room. So, feel free to try on that go-go dress! As you should, since the women's vintage clothing collection at Cinda Lou is definitely the best collection I've seen in the city. Overall, Cinda Lou is a superbly done era consignment shop that should be on the to-do list of every hip person in the city.
