I always enjoy coming to this store. The smell of incense sticks as soon as you walk in always puts that smile on my face. Amazing selection of metal records and shirts.

I love this place so much. Whenever I go downtown, I go to magnolia. Me and my girlfriend have spent so much time here. Staff is super super nice. There's a HUGE variety of vinyl, cd's, and cassettes. Some things are a bit expensive but it's vinyl what do you expect LOL. Overall I just love this place so much and I HIGHLY recommend it!!

I had a very knowledgeable person assisting me. I don't know much about records but I think they have reasonable prices. I feel they have a nice selection of goods. I really like that they have a filing system to access content. I don't know... but I spent over $100 in there. I bought records, a pin for my collection, and my nephew a lunch box.

Amazing what a difference 14 years can make, the death of CDs turning Magnolia Thunderpussy back into a haven for rare gems and quality customer service plus plenty of vinyl. Perhaps the only remaining record store on High Street from college its great to see these folks back where they began, earning customers with knowledge and quality.

My boyfriend and I were in the Columbus area and wanted to find a Vinyl shop near by the convention center. This popped up! Come on, with a cool name like that, you have to check them out! Glad we did! We entered and I already liked the place! They were blasting Iron Maiden! YESSSS!!! The first thing we hit was the T-shirt area. We definitely wanted a shirt from Magnolia Thunderpussy ($15.00 each). I got a teal color and my boyfriend got a orange/red. There are more different T-Shirts in the back. The front is used CDs and when you heads towards the back is the vinyls. I was shocked that they had two rows of $.99 bins! I was in heaven. I was able to find 9 albums jazz/easy listening. Their records are organized and, catergorized and stocked. The shelves are not tight. My only con is that they have the used mixed in the new pressed vinyls. I think they should keep them separate. They have a good selection of R&B and mostly rock. Some Jazz and International. The employees were super cool and friendly. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our time here! If we are ever in the area, we are definitely dropping by again!

Fun place and have a lot of different things with a wide variety. Recommend stopping through.

I've shopped at Magnolia periodically for 30 years. Selection? Great. Owner? Extremely and consistently rude. I'd recommend Used Kids.

Great surprise record store. Found it by accident walking by. Excellent, excellent metal section if that is what you're into.

It's one of the largest of its kind left from the line of them that once filled campus High Street with music.

We had…read morea random stop on our way home from Quebec after spending the night outside of Columbus and got some good breakfast sandwiches from the clutch food truck that we found via Apple Maps. Lo and behold, there was a record store across the street and open early! I've been to a few great record stores in Columbus, but did not know about this one and it's super great. Everything is organized really well and there is so much variety and the prices are very fair.... Sadly a rarity these days. The metal section is divided in various sections so it's very comforting on the.Mind :) I am a connoisseur record stores, and this is the way they're supposed to be. Super nice staff as well.

These days it's a street level entrance, but the absolutely amazing vinyl selection is still very much present in this new record shop located on Summit Street north of campus. most people would be hard pressed not to find several selections that they really like in this large shop. Truly incredible variety. As with most shops like this in the Columbus area, there are some vinyl record collector supplies available for purchase. True collectors and audio files will find this feature very useful. Friendly and talkative staff at the front desk, who are happy to answer thoughtful questions. They are knowledgeable so if you have something on your mind, hit them up if they can help you, I'm feeling pretty confident that they'll do their best. Parking can be a bit of a chore as there are a number of other retail shops in this immediate area, it is also a residential area, and a highly trafficked street. With a little patience, you'll be able to find something relatively nearby. Be sure and check the signs to make sure that you're parking in an area that is permissible.

(Sadly have this experience very frequently where I'm from in bluegrass country.) But as soon as I walked in, I felt like I was in my pawpaw's garage, full of passion projects and home. John said, "If you can't find something... I'm sure I can't either. But holler anyway." All the pictures you'll find on Yelp are pretty much the whole store. You open the house door almost directly in front of the register, and all the merchandise is in the front and along one side. It's tiny but packed. This store has decades of stock and love in it. There are a ton of music books ranging from beginner to pro for all different styles, not just bluegrass. As John recommended, it's great to just flip through the books to see which style of writing and teaching makes the most sense to you. I picked out the cheapest open-back banjo, and John never tried to upsell me. In fact, he told me all the great things about the instrument I'd picked and walked me through the basics of the style I wanted to learn and even other ones in case I changed my mind. (Which I did lol.) This was all without me having to ask, with genuine excitement. He put so much care and attention into making sure the instrument and I were prepared. It's almost a month later, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase and experience. I will definitely be back for more supplies and recommend to anyone else looking for an instrument or supplies. I'm so grateful this is here in Columbus :)
