The rooms were laid out well. The system of getting clues is fairly straightforward. The clues and rooms were fun. It felt a bit rehearsed telling you the rules, which are important. I think it would be nice to have more of an engaging experience with the staff. I will continue to support them and bring more people through. Hoping I don't feel like a number next time but like I'm actually in an experience. Other experiences I have done in California the staff is very animated and engaging. You feel like they are part of it. It's a nice touch to feel that connection.

I'll start with some of the things I was less impressed with: 1) I understand the irony of my writing this review and saying this - but their reviews, ESPECIALLY Google reviews, should not be trusted. I was honestly appalled by the explicit solicitation of reviews. There were signs to "review us on Google" on EVERY pole in the building, and the poor employee had to give a speech (that was clearly mandatory) about "my manager really appreciates if you leave 5 star Google reviews blah blah blah" at the end of our experience. It was so uncomfortable and off putting. 2) The decor and entrance, as other reviewers have mentioned, leave a lot to be desired. The escape room itself was a-okay, but the waiting area and "party room" both felt very sparse and dungeony. If you're planning to book any kind of party here, I would go see the space prior to committing. The "party area" is back by the bathrooms and not private. The rest really was fun and wonderful! We had fun picking our team name, the employees were great and helpful and kind, and the room was the perfect blend of difficult and engaging. Overall, I would say go and enjoy. I don't know how it compares to competitors since this was my first escape room in years, but this is a solid option for dates and groups alike.

The rec room locations in Canada had really terrible reviews and we decided to look local. Vivid's website was pretty easy to use and book our appointments, we went with the $30 pp premium for an hour (all the standard games + some others). I suggest coming earlier to get used to the controls, it's a little different. We had so much fun, highly recommended. I do love the free classic arcade games in the front that we can play as we wait. Thoughtful touch. Wish it was located more downtown near all the bars and nightlife, this place would be an even bigger hit. Looking forward to the new developments. I'd def come back again.

I forgot the name of the games that I played, but definitely try the one where you shoot the robots. It was so exciting and a bit scary as the game went on. You had the ability to move around and shoot them. Another game that I played was fighting off the demons. Had a blast killing them!! But the one down side of it was that, we weren't able to move around. Just station at one spot, but it was still fun. I'm probably the worst gamer...not coordinated at all and have a high chance that I will die first. But it was pretty easy to pick up, so I can imagine that anyone like me can have fun too. Before it was our turn, we were waiting on a group of 3 kids. Anyone could see their excitement in playing the game. It's perfect for all ages, and another way for parents to bond with the children. Our group had at least 2 other screens for the avid golfers. I might have had expectations that were too high. For mini golf, I expected a sort of virtual mini putt putt course. It was really just putting to a hole you could see directly in front of you. The background would change slightly. With AI, I think this could have been cooler than that. It just wasn't what I was expecting. The real golfers in our group seemed more pleased with it, and to me, their courses and backgrounds were better. I don't think this place has food on site. Our group prordered from them through some kind of catering. It was good. There was also drinks included at the bar (non alcoholic), and you could get alcoholic drinks if you paid for them. The bartender was very nice. This was a cool event for a group. Not being a golfer myself, I don't think I'd head back, but if there was another group event there I wouldn't mind going back.

The entrance is lovely, and the fact that the whole space is yours is really nice. The chairs that come standard are white parsons chairs that look so lovely, and your bar is a true bar built into the wall and private just for your guests. And the food at City Grill is AMAZING. I'm hungry just thinking about it. On top of this all, their events director Karen Hite is spectacular. Professional and flexible, she goes above and beyond, thinking of every detail. What a pleasure it has been to work with her!!
