My daughter had a speech delay, and the patience, support, and encouragement she received there helped her so so much. They don't just focus on academics or rigid schedules; they teach kindness, social skills, and everyday life lessons that are just as important as ABCs and 123s at this stage. More than anything, the kids are genuinely *LOVED* - and that makes all the difference. As a working parent, I truly could not have had my career without the trust and peace of mind that Learning Tree provided. They are very reasonably priced, and the new (in 2025) owners and management of the building are just as wonderful as the teachers - professional, kind, and supportive. In 2025 they did a ton of renovations with all brand new floors, classroom toys & supplies, and a brand new outdoor playground with a new fence. Payment is simple and stress-free through their online portal, and the app they use makes communication effortless. Getting pictures and videos throughout the day was such a gift...it warmed my heart to see my kids smiling, playing, and learning in real time. They use a key fob system to enter the building and you have to go through multiple check-points, it is very safe. Before finding Learning Tree, we tried other daycare options in Annapolis that felt cold, too strict, and more like a prison for toddlers than a nurturing environment. Learning Tree was the complete opposite - warm, family-oriented, and rooted in decades of experience. The teachers are unmatched, which is why they've been trusted by families for over 30 years. At the end of the day, these are children - they don't need to learn rocket science, they need to feel LOVED, supported and SAFE. Giving out Valentine's cards, coloring hard boiled eggs for Easter...Not like at the Montessori school which didn't allow it all for children of his age. Tucked away in a family oriented neighborhood with the city's police right down the street, I have peace of mind and happiness sending our son to this school. This was a contingency plan based on retiring from the Marine Corps and staying in the area. I paid $1876 and was aware of their zero refund policy for under 2 care. On 5Jun2015 (approx 2 months before our son was supposed to begin), we notified the Goddard School that we would be moving to PA and not using our spot. We inquired about getting partial refund on our deposit and thought this was reasonable given the advance notice we gave them. We were told "no" within hours of making the request. The Goddard School had an opportunity to help out a retiring service person. I wasn't so much looking for the Goddard School to lose income on our situation but rather help create a win-win solution for both of us by attempting to fill the spot with another child. If they would looked for even a week, this situation would have turned out on a positive note. In my BBB complaint, Ms Patel claims she and her staff had no idea that I was in the service. That isn't a true statement but it really shouldn't matter. Ms Patel also states that after hearing I would be given zero refund that that I asked to keep the spot reserved. This is a true statement but has no bearing on the case at hand. Where is the formal letter I requested stating that you're company did not double book my son's spot? Ms Patel, I was impressed with your staff but you handled this situation wrong and had multiple chances to make it right. Why didn't you talk to me personally about this? Single instances like this separate good businesses from great businesses. Bottom line: - Why did Arnold, MD Goddard school recommend that we reserve a spot 6 months out? How hard would it have been to fill our spot given we gave them 2 months advance and the timing of the spot (Aug when summers are ending). - How much effort did they Arnold, MD Goddard School put into helping my family solve our problem? - $1876 for ZERO SERVICES RENDERED....this didn't have to happen.
