The Learning Tree Daycare has been an absolute blessing for our family. Both of my children attended - my daughter from ages 2 to 4 and my son from 1 to 2 - and I cannot recommend them enough. From day one, the teachers at Learning Tree made my somewhat shy child feel safe, loved, and encouraged. My daughter had a speech delay, and the patience, support, and encouragement she received there helped her so so much. They don't just focus on academics or rigid schedules; they teach kindness, social skills, and everyday life lessons that are just as important as ABCs and 123s at this stage. More than anything, the kids are genuinely *LOVED* - and that makes all the difference. As a working parent, I truly could not have had my career without the trust and peace of mind that Learning Tree provided. They are very reasonably priced, and the new (in 2025) owners and management of the building are just as wonderful as the teachers - professional, kind, and supportive. In 2025 they did a ton of renovations with all brand new floors, classroom toys & supplies, and a brand new outdoor playground with a new fence. Payment is simple and stress-free through their online portal, and the app they use makes communication effortless. Getting pictures and videos throughout the day was such a gift...it warmed my heart to see my kids smiling, playing, and learning in real time. They use a key fob system to enter the building and you have to go through multiple check-points, it is very safe. Before finding Learning Tree, we tried other daycare options in Annapolis that felt cold, too strict, and more like a prison for toddlers than a nurturing environment. Learning Tree was the complete opposite - warm, family-oriented, and rooted in decades of experience. The teachers are unmatched, which is why they've been trusted by families for over 30 years. At the end of the day, these are children - they don't need to learn rocket science, they need to feel LOVED, supported and SAFE. I can't say enough good things about our experience with The Learning Tree. From the moment we walked in, it just felt right. The teachers greet our daughter by name each morning, and it's clear they truly care about each child as an individual. She's come home each day brimming with stories, songs, and new things she's learned--not to mention the adorable art projects we now have proudly displayed all over the house. Watching her blossom socially and emotionally in such a nurturing space has been so reassuring. She's made real friendships and grown in confidence, and I credit so much of that to the gentle, encouraging environment this preschool provides. My daughter loves The Learning Tree and so that makes me love it even more. She's 2 1/2 and just enjoys all the learning activities, her friends and absolutely loves her teachers. She's always happy to see them and they always make her feel so happy and welcomed! I was informed by Cecilia the owner of this building that fired me through text message instead of holding a professional meeting about why I had to go home sick. They have so many violations in the infant room it's atrocious. Whenever it came to having teachers calling in they had teachers who had little to no knowledge of the classroom. Also they had teachers who didn't engage with the children at all when it came to taking care of them. Our son has been attending the Learning Tree since he was a baby. He is currently enrolled in the preschool program wherein he engages in activities that promote fun and learning. He learns so much from his amazing teachers. He enjoys going to school everyday and loves playing and learning with his friends, most of which he has known since infant days. Learning Tree not only helps shape our son's learning, his teachers and the staff also ensure that he has good manners and is well prepared to function on his own and be a good member of the community. We are a military family and have used many childcare services throughout the years. The Learning Tree is among the best. The staff are wonderfully nice and are great with the kids. The school teaches them way more than I could have expected at such a young age. My son comes home singing many songs that teach him to count, do the alphabet, and shapes. They learn about art and music. It's not just memorization either. My four-year-old is able to understand and use this basic knowledge. The school takes the children on a few field trips a year. My oldest child has been attending for 3 years now and my youngest recently enrolled. Very pleased with their social and academic development. All of the teachers know and greet all of the kids. After enrolling my daughter in this school, I became more and more disturbed with the owners of it. For example, between the 3 and 4 year old rooms is a shared, open bathroom. For the 4 and 5 year olds, there is no privacy between the boys and girls and, if you have or have had children of that age, that is when they become curious. I asked if they could install a divider that I would even pay for if needed and they refused. I have heard teachers talking about my daughter and saying that her being a tomboy is wrong and that she should like dolls. One of her teacher's father passed away and they allowed only 1 day of paid leave. I've heard them berate the teachers and abuse them as well as not compensating them for times when parents have been late to pick up their children. Both directors refused to acknoweldge my daughter's departure and 3 weeks after I left claimed they put in her final statement in her cubby when clearly she was no longer a student there and then tried to charge me a penalty for late payment when in fact I was on time. I was replied to with rude comments and was overwhelmed by the lack of professionalism they displayed. If this is how they treated me and my concerns for my daughter, it is no surprise they treat their staff, who should be happy focusing on their children, with such disrespect. It's sad because most of the teachers are truly quite amazing and even attended my daughter's birthday parties and recitals on weekends. It would be a great place if the owners realized they were in the wrong business...moving kids into classes they're not ready for just to fill more expensive slots means you're in it for the money.
