They did a great job! On time, hardworking, and very competent. We were on a budget, so Phil said we can give them a ballpark dollar amount. The two movers worked hard to meet that request, including figuring out a useful solution for us (unloading some things into the garage instead of putting everything in the house, which helped us meet our goal). The driveway is very steep, and initially Phil thought said could cut it in half with a ramp out of the side of the truck. His time estimate was based on that idea, but it turned out we couldn't use the ramp, so the movers had to work harder than anticipated. The guy Phil was absolutely a kind man answered the phone right away and we were actually able to get a move scheduled for the next day!!! I was so relieved. This should be 10 stars but YELP! won't accommodate. We moved from western Lane County to Eugene and needed movers on both ends. I called Phil in late Aug to get on the schedule and during our vacation I had to call Phil and change the date to 5 days later. Phil was great about making the change and blocking out enough time in the late afternoon and suggested that regardless of how late we arrived in Eugene that his guys would either unload our bed and anything we needed for the night and could come back the next am to finish or the guys could unload everything that night. I felt so relieved. I knew everything would work out. Moving day was horrible. We had a jam packed 26 ft truck loaded and didn't get to Eugene till 7 pm. Phil sent Joe and one helper to our new house. Within the hour Joe suggested adding another crew member on to finish the job that night. Phil only will take perfection in how everything is loaded, carefully so that there is no damage to any belongings. Let me start by saying that this review is very late - Phil and his crew moved us over a year ago. However, their service was so amazing that I felt the need to ensure they knew how much we appreciated them. We moved on a weekend with a HUGE wind and rain storm which, as you can imagine, slowed things down a bit. Phil and his team went to great lengths to ensure that our belongings were well covered and remained in good condition on both ends of the move. Though it took longer than expected, they stayed until the job was done - a couple hours later than planned, and never indicated that they were inconvienenced one bit. I have mixed feelings writing this review because the experience I had is over a few days and some parts were great, but others not so great. I hate to be the one to break their five star streak but if I'm being honest there were some really disappointing elements of my experience. Scheduling was great. Phil was professional and low pressure and promised excellent, money-back guaranteed service. He planned to bring a TV box, plastic wrap for my furniture, moving blankets, a new matching socket cord for our dryer, moving dollys, and protection for the floors. The two movers arrived on time, but only brought one dolly for the two of them. The moving truck we rented had a dolly in it we could rent for a fee and the movers said they would pay for it and use it. They also went to Uhaul an hour into moving (off the clock) and paid to borrow moving blankets. There was no plastic wrap, no floor protection, and no TV box. There was no cord brought for the dryer either. As far as movers go, Ron and Gene were fantastic. They moved all of our stuff super efficiently. Anything that we told them was fragile or super meaningful they took extra care with. They took a short break half way through the day and made sure to do it off the clock and to be totally honest about every second they were working. Their hard work was worth every penny. The day after the move, we called Phil to get our dryer cord hooked up as he had promised and it took three tries to get someone to our house, even when we had scheduled it tentatively for Sunday, no one showed up- when I called again today Phil sent someone over this evening and the cord situation was all figured out. I haven't tested the dryer but he seemed to work hard and be thorough so I feel hopeful that it's all good. I hope you can understand why I'm so torn- the actual movers were 5 stars, the follow through on promises were 3 stars. The guarantee about good service is appreciated, but I certainly could not have just not paid them for their work! I just wish there had been more execution on what the company promised to deliver. *** update six months later*** Phil called me a few days ago and explained that the moving experience we had was an unfortunate mistake due to a lot of unforeseen circumstances (Phil needing to leave town, not having their van available, etc.) and brought me a full refund of my move in June in cash, even though I did not at all ask for it! I am very impressed by his integrity and will be using his company again! read more

We first hired them as part of UHaul to unload two PODS and one truck which went great, nothing broken, on time and they really nice people. This matters to us. Phil and Brandon showed up right on time and were very efficient moving furniture around in my three story house. Very friendly, careful and pleasant to have in my home. They took away lots of boxes and some pieces I decided to give to thrift store -- I just paid the $30 for the cargo van. They were done in two hours after unpacking a bedroom set I had delivered (one chest was very heavy), they assembled the bed then and moved different furniture pieces up and down the 3 stories. They even helped me put up a shower curtain rod that I couldn't do on my one. Very reasonable cost. read more

My parents moved from a 2nd floor apartment into a ranch style home, giving me some of their furniture, so this move involved 2 stops. After dealing with a contractor who not only tried to skip out on my parents with doing a crappy renovation but also used materials we bought for working on someone else's job in my parents' new home as a workshop, we definitely wanted a smooth moving day. There was a little hiccup at the start of the move, with the crew arriving closer to 11am instead of our 9am start time, but boy did Andrew and Zach (Zack?) save the day! Phil amazed my parents and I with not only compensating us for the miscommunication and time delay, but also sending us an A+ crew who treated our posessions with the utmost care. So I believe this is my second review of A Great Moving Crew. The very first time I've worked with this company they helped get me moved in after my relocation to Eugene from California. Then fill, the owner, was so nice to help my aunt with these 50 pounds suitcases up the stairs and didn't even charge me I was just blown away. Then at the end of November of this year his crew which includes, 2 Zachary's And one Andrew. When Zack number one and Andrew arrive they realize that I had triple the amount of stuff that I had when I moved here and so they called another Zack to come and the guys were so sweet and so nice didn't break anything and got me moved into my new place and I am so grateful.
