I hired Bill Harvey inspection services in December of 2020 for a home inspection we were buying…read more In my opinion, the inspection was not thorough as some of the ones I have seen personally in the past from other companies. My team and Bill Harvey had an unpleasant conversation in regards to our concerns about the report, and since we felt that the issue did not get resolved, a 1-star review was left on his business listing on Google. Bill Harvey was very upset at the review, and replied via email threating to sue for Defamation of Character. The entire ordeal was the worst Customer Service experience I have ever experienced, and I have never been threatened by a contractor to get sued for an online review. Our team decided to stand our ground and honest opinion, and did not remove the review even after numerous threats during and after the Christmas holidays. We knew our review was based on our personal experience and we were 100% truthful with our opinion on Bill Harvey's customer service and unwillingness to help his paying clients. Instead of Bill Harvey trying to find solutions to solve the problem, he resorted to intimidation and suing his clients. I have never experienced anything like that before from a contractor or in my life. Bill Harvey made me feel like we were causing unnecessary drama and complications, because we were trying to get an "exaggerated report" on the home we were buying so we could get more money from the seller. Not only is this 100% untrue, but it is degrading hearing that, especially coming from a business owner. It made us feel like we were trying to scam people of money. We are very successful business owners as well, and doing that would never be our intention. We closed on the home mid December, and have been remodeling and doing minor repairs around the home for the past month now. We have found plumbing issues, landscaping issues, and major roofing issues. After repairing our roofing issues, it just made me think of Bill Harvey. To this day I still can't believe he accused us of trying to get an exaggerated report, and tried to sue us. It's a month later, and it shows how many problems were missed due to an insufficient home inspection we felt that was not thorough. We feel like we spent over $500 for not only absolutely nothing, but to be threatened by a business owner to be sued. It caused so much stress to me and my family over the holidays. Coming from a small family owned business, we feel like he should love all his clients and try to go above and beyond for them. Instead, Bill Harvey threated to sue us for a bad review he thought we were wrong about, but it's a month later and the issues at our home is proof that there were legitimate problems with our new home. Attached are photos of our roof damage. I have numerous emails where he messaged our team of wanting to spend $20k to take us to court if we didn't remove the review. In our opinion, this is absolutely unacceptable behavior, and in our opinion seemed like he was trying to intimidate us with money. In our opinion, we felt this was very cruel and evil. I wouldn't recommend Bill Harvey Inspections to anybody. This was honestly the worst business experience I have ever experienced in my life.

Stephen returned my phone call quickly and walked me through the process. Because we were concerned about hidden problems in our flipped house, we also got a termite inspection and infrared pictures taken.   We met them at our house after they had a chance to perform the inspection and they walked us through their findings. I was shown where there were major issues, and was also given advice on things we could do to prevent possible future issues (add caulk to the 90 degree angle between the new counters and the backsplash, etc.). As a new home owner, it really made me feel comfortable about what I was getting into with this house. Their inspection gave me the peace of mind and confidence to move forward with the sale (and I'm so happy I did!)   We received the inspection report the next day as well as information on their warranty coverages.
