Completely disrespectful associate with terrible attitude. I picked up a firearm off the table that I wanted to purchase and he asked me to put it down. Ok, no problem. Then he says "I guess you can't read either" and picks up a sign off of a nearby gun that had fallen down and put it back on the one I was looking at. I told him I didn't see that and I didn't move the sign. His response was "yea the guy before you knocked it down". So that's not my fault, if it was there obviously I would not have handled it. I told him there was no reason to talk to someone like that and he just kept on with the attitude until I walked away. Great way to lose the sale of a $2500 firearm. read more

Every one that works here is great except for the owner who seams to be a grumpy old dowroid. But if you live in southern brazoria county you get used to them. Good place to pick up a new shooting iron and have a good selection of firearms in stock. They do gun shows on the weekend so a lot of the stock may not be on display but if you are looking for something ask and they may have it in the back or at the show. I've shopped here for several years now, and they've been excellent every time I've been in the shop. Some of the stories in the bad reviews being left sound completely made up and implausible. I can honestly say I don't believe the majority of those claims ever happened. Aside from sounding like poorly made up stories, they contrast heavily with the character of the owner and employees that I've experienced in the store. If I had to guess, they were probably made by some of the competing stores at the gun shows or in the area of their store. The staff at AJC has always been excellent, patient, talkative, and friendly. Their prices are good, and they offer discounts for paying with debit or cash. They have a huge selection of pistols and rifles. They also have all the individual parts to build an AR-15 from the ground up, for anyone in the middle of a build who realizes they're missing something halfway through. Their holster collection is a bit generic and unfortunately it's a bit poorly organized, but generally I just order those custom online anyway (though a better organized section with less leather would be great). I'm sure I sound like a shill for AJC, but I've legitimately been thrilled with them every time I've entered the store both with my own interactions, and listening to them talk to other customers. read more

I am a big gun enthusiast and when I first moved to this area I went to this establishment (since they were really the only local gun store) and received horrible service. After a few years a guy I know started working here and I went back to the store because of him. I have since bought 4 guns from this store (him specifically) and have another on order for my son. My wife went in to pick up the gun and the person I knew wasn't there. Just like previous experiences I had, my wife received the same horrible service and walked out without the purchase. It's like they think they are doing the customer's a favor by selling them a gun. I like to frequent local establishments when possible but it is clear they think, due to their gun show business, that they don't need local business to be successful. Alan (the owner) is never visible and the people he has working there have apparently never been trained on basic customer service. It is very disappointing that after thousands of dollars in sales I'm still treated this way. I will complete the current transaction because I am a man of my word but I will happily travel to Houston or other areas in the future to get the respect a customer deserves. Recently discovered this place and stopped in a couple of times. The first visit I mostly scouted out the merchandise. Great store with quite a selection of guns , accessories, knives etc. Second visit I talked to one of the guys and handled some pistols. Already saw one I really wanted. Very helpful and hospitable even though it was busy. Helped me find a decent holster for idpa shooting and overall it was one of the best gun buying experiences I've had at a retail type store. I don't understand how anyone could have anything bad to say about these guys...I purchased a used GSG from them at a gun show, and then had some feeding and extraction issues with it. I was initially hesitant to contact them due to their 'all warranty must be done through the manufacturer' disclaimer on the receipt, so I spent almost a month (might have actually been MORE than a month) trying to deal with GSG/ATI. They were initially helpful, but then stopped responding. I sent an email to Alan (the owner), and within a few hours he called me on the phone and was EXTREMELY helpful and willing to assist me getting everything straightened out. I took the rifle to them and they sent it out to GSG/ATI that same day, and within a short amount of time called me letting me know the firearm had arrived back for me to come pick up. I was nervous that it would be a while before I'd be able to pick it up, as I work 8-5 M-F, but they're open super late during the week and even open on Sundays! I went that evening to pick it up, received excellent service at their location, and went a few days later and unloaded several thousand rounds without a single hiccup at a firing range. These guys are absolutely top-notch, superb customer service, and have been hands-down the BEST gun shop that I've ever dealt with. Most, if not all, of the firearms I purchase in the future will be from AJC. One other thing to add, since my experience with them, my roommate has purchased a Mossberg shotgun, a Colt .22 AR, and several accessories for both of them, all with excellent customer service and support from them, both at their Katy location and at local gun shows. I'd been on the fence about purchasing an M&P 15-22. Hard time justifying to myself paying $400 for a .22. Then I saw it on sale for $325. Best price I've ever seen for a new one of these. I will say that all but one of the people were not very attentive. I'm there to give them business and I could've easily been swayed to buy a handgun because I was looking for my first revolver. It was at the SAXET Gun Show in San Antonio. I don't expect someone to really Sell me on anything or be catered to but a simple acknowledgment and assistance I don't feel is much to ask. That being said, I got a great price, they had a great selection, and they weren't exactly rude just a little lacking in service. Bottom line, I would buy from them again. read more

I recently purchased a firearm at a gun show from these guys. I didn't realize until I made it home they accidentally sold me a blemished pistol (which I believe was an honest mistake) Upon further inspection, I emailed the manufacturer who was no help at all in fixing the problem. In other words, they told me it was my problem now. I was devestated into thinking I was stuck with this blemished pistol. I believed I was going to come at a loss in selling this pistol back. I called the owner and pleaded my case and with no hesitation helped me out with my dilemma. I couldn't have been happier. On top of it all the crew was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I have bought 9 pistols and my dad has bought 5 from AJC and always sent people their way(UNTILL TODAY) I was at the gun show and looking at a used rifle they had for sale. The rifle was a little over priced for the condition it was in but because of previous purchases from them I was going to buy it anyways. The owner was very rude and not helpful at all(he has gotten a big head since they've grown and opened another store. I asked was their a cash discount normal question at a gun show right? Price is it what is(not looking me in the eye) and then tells me he wouldn't sell it to me anyways, he saw the man next to me hand me money " were not stupid" and walks off . My father(the man who handed me money) gave me 150.00 because I had 500.00 and the rifle was 650.00 I was going to go to the ATM out front but he said here take this and get me back on the way out. And take into consideration we were both dressed nice clean cut guys no thug action or anything like that. I wanted to tell him my dads presidential all gold Rolex(he had on at the time) is worth more than he had on the table and go screw himself but that wouldn't have done any good. After calling and getting a price quote on a rifle and shotgun , I was informed I needed to drive to the store to pay for the guns before they would order . No problem . After driving 38 miles one way , I was told they would not honor texas reciprication law by letting me make purchase with a ohio ID ... than they lied to me and said there is extra paperwork involved. ...... bullcrap that is a flat out lie !!!! Than while explaining I was going to pay cash upfront to order the firearms the "kid" turned his back on me to get on the phone ..... thank you for wasting my time and fuel . I have had positive experience's in the past but the latest trip was a bust. I had called and inquired about buying some Magpul magazines and spoke with the owners daughter. She said they were out but would have some by the end of the week. I asked for the price and she told me $15.50. She said she had ordered them herself and that would be the price. I called at the end of the week and they said they came in. I drove an hour to there store to pick them up. I went in and spoke with Linda and told her I was here to pick up my magazines. Linda went back into the back to speak with the owners daughter and she had no recollection of our conversation. To top it off Linda said they were limiting it to 2 mags to purchase and that the mags were now $ 49 dollars a piece! Nothing like price gouging!! I asked to speak with the owners daughter and Linda said it would not make a difference. The price is $49. Nice job AJC! Way to treat a long time customer. I guess they want to be like CTD (Cheaper Than Dirt) on price gouging on there mags. Honor your word that's all I ask. Own up if something changed! Owner is the biggest A-HOLE in the business. My brother & I bought several guns from this business. We made the S.A. Saxet show early & went straight to his tables to see what was for sale. It was the two of us on one side of the table & him on the other side. We were evaluating a Colt Govt 1911 when this guy comes unglued & starts screaming at us for simply holding one of his precious pieces of crap. I had a good experience buying my Saiga 12 from these guys. I had seen them selling on a gun selling/auction site and decided to ask if they would be at the gun show and that I was interested in that particular gun. Alan (the owner) wrote back and said that they would be there. He also said that he would hold on to one for me because they still do business on people's word. He could've easily had sold it (especially because of the demand and price) but didn't. The transaction at the show was smooth and the staff was great. I have recently in last month Purchased 2 CZ P-09 urban grey models from this shop based on their availability and price, was even given a free hat after the second purchase. Last week I came in to buy a CZ 75B Omega as I had called to verify it was in stock, Linda refused to acknowledge me while in the store, during this time 2 customers came in and were immediately waited on by her, both came in looking for magazines and left after being told they were not in stock. Twice I made contact with Linda and said excuse me and she looked away both times, When a third customer came in and she waited on him I just left after 25 minutes, I looked at her when I left and shouted Am I Invisible? I called on phone the next day and Linda transferred me to Alan, I inquired about the CZ and he hung up on me proclaiming he had no time for me and a store full of customers. I am done with these rude people, I was becoming a great customer and they decided to treat me like dirt, will never understand why, I came in professionally dressed, I am in sales have CHL license and was complimentary about their store, never shop there again too many other options! read more

Made the mistake of buying a gun at the gun show from this company. Although their prices were the best, the customer service was non existent. They were offering a free box of ammo with purchase of particular guns. We found one we wanted and specifically asked if this gun was included in the offer. We were told YES , so we stood in the line (yes they are a popular booth) to make our purchase. After paying we were told that our gun was not part of the offer, we questioned the lady and told her we had specifically asked about that gun before we bought it. She was extremely rude! Obviously their sales clerk made a mistake (he even went and asked to make sure), but for good customer service & to keep the business coming back, you give the free item. "THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!" I should have paid more and bought from a store that cared about their customers. LESSON LEARNED! read more
