Let me get this out there first.... I would give Heather and Alamode photography 50 stars if I could! First, I live in Ohio and we were taking a cruise to Cabo from LA. I decided to propose to my girlfriend at the Griffith Observatory and since I knew no one in California I decided to hire a photographer to capture the moment. She won't let us use our phone during the photo shoot which I understand it might cause some distractions but sadly her photos came out terrible I wish we had use our phones instead. She didn't give us any instructions it's all very random with no directions on how to position and poor background choices, Photos were off center and blurry. Heather is a total professional and absolutely relentless in producing the perfect photo session for you and your loved ones. I had the pleasure of working with her not once, but twice, and hopefully many more times to come. She did my maturity photos and then our newborn pictures. With the maternity shoot, I was looking for a more original, boho and eclectic vibe than the standard 'ol boring poses of preggo gals on beaches. I called around to about 4 photographers, and hands down Heather had the best packages, unlimited wardrobe changes, look to her photos, and pricing. She was easy to get a hold of and down to earth yet very straightforward. I see some of these Groupon 'deals' and some advertised online that were limited to one or two wardrobe changes and 30 min to an hour. Super lame. How in the world do you do two wardrobe changes in 30 minutes when you're seven months pregnant?! And they charge an arm and a leg for hair and makeup which I didn't need. We quickly booked a shoot date in Malibu (I drove in from Laguna Niguel in OC) and were able to do two different backdrops (ocean and woodsy) about 70 feet from one another. 3 hours, and what seemed like endless wardrobe changes later, we had a slew of amazing shots to choose from. We didn't hesitate to book our newborn photos with her as well after seeing her portfolio on those. She was on time to our home and worked hard for a few hours to get amazing shots with our little peanut. The pictures are magnificent and we received so many compliments on them. They made the perfect announcement photos. I'm really glad she stressed doing them so early on- 5 days after our little girl was born. Another fabulous shoot. She even helped me get set up with my pump that I had no idea what all those parts were used for. Basically, she's a boss. She knows her craft far better than those who've more recently tried to jump on this bandwagon. Aside from that, she has a shining personality that you'll just fall in love with. Where do I begin!? From the very beginning my interaction with Heather was exceptional. After a few hiccups on my part trying to schedule a date for our family photo shoot, we finally made it to Santa Monica! I have a crazy energetic 18 month old son with a very strong personality who arrived to the photo shoot pretty crancky! He wanted to play with the seagulls and the sand and run around.
