I went to the Am nail bar near Ross their new location and really loved the outcome of my nails. It was my first time going there and they did an amazing job. Hana and Emily are both amazing! It took about an hour and a half to do gel chrome nails but they turned out just how I wanted them too! My friend did normal gel for $45 and I did chrome gel polish for $60. I was in desperate search of a great nail spa that did quality work, was clean, and did not get too ridiculous with their prices. After a web search I came across this place. It is across town from me, but I decided to give it a try. The extra drive was so worth it! The nail shop is fairly new and it is clean! You can tell they keep the place up with good cleaning habits. It's pretty spacious so you are definitely not on top of anyone or crammed in a space. Upon arrival you're greeted and asked if you have an appointment or the service you are seeking. I always make an appointment with any nail salon because always seem easier to me so I did call ahead. They just took my name and the time. So, when I walked in and was asked I told them I did have an appointment. I was told to check in on their little tablet on the front desk which included imputing my phone number. Then I was instructed to go to the sink and wash my hands which I thought was great. I'm for all safety precautions. After I washed my hands I was directed to a seat for a pedicure. It was only just a few people there. Everyone wore a mask. The foot bowl was covered in plastic and all the tools came out of a new plastic pack. I was offered a beverage, handed a menu with three pedicure options, and a basket full of painted plastic nails for color options. The massage chair was new and worked pretty well. The place is pretty serene as well. There are TVs & light music playing. Overall, I felt the service was great! My feet were so soft! The paint job was great! I decided to go with regular over gel polish and the first tier of the pedicure which included the foot job and the scrub on my legs and hot towels, all for $32. Not bad for the quality of service and cleanliness. This will definitely be my go to place from this point forward. Next up, maybe when I'm not so antsy, I'll get a manicure! read more

I have been going to AM Nail for 2 years. I wanted to get regular nail polish on my toes instead of gel nail polish. They kept trying to push gel and I finally told them that I was doing regular polish on my toes instead of gel polish this time because gel is $20 more and I wanted to get other services. The first time coming to A M nail bar the experience was a good one, however , time after time the quality started to get worst and worst. I got a pedicure and full set a week ago, both gel and the same day I left the polish started to peel already! I went back the next day so that they could fix it and after rushing the fix the polish peeled again just days after ! Even now I can literally peel the polish off when it's suppose to be Gel polish. Got a last min fill in here with my cousin, they were kinda nice (Seated us separately even though we came in together & the nail booths were closer than where we waited? Make it make sense) Problems: 1.) Whatever nail primer they used burned my fingers so bad (my cousin said the same thing) it was so unbearable and that's never happened to me before in all the years I've been getting my nails done. 2.) The owner kept jumping seat to seat, answering phone calls & leaving me unattended for minutes at a time. What made an hour or less fill in 2+ hours, really annoying. (There were about 3 workers sitting in the back not doing anything for the whole 2 1/2 hours I was there so not sure why they couldn't take care of some things?) 3.) I wanted a color change and showed him a picture, he ended up putting a different color on than I asked (I just kept the color he put on because he took 2 hours already just shaping my nails and reapplying acrylic (which is ridiculous) because of how much time he spent being distracted by other things. I was just ready to go. 4.) Cut my fingers/cuticles so much my fingers were literally in pain from that AND the burning of the nail primer 5.) Dumped a bunch of cheap oil on my fingers after my service and told me "OK DONE" after beating up my nails 6.) Stood over me as I was paying, watching to see how much I was gonna tip him (I tipped him $5 for an already $70 job that literally was so painful/time consuming) I honestly shouldn't have tipped him. I don't like how time consuming and painful it was getting my nails done here, and the color change/fill in was way more expensive here than a lot of places in the area. My first visit to this location was great! Second time wasnt so great. The nail tech had a attitude from the start it seems. I showed him a picture of the shape I wanted, ( he seemed confused), but he continued to glue on my tips. I asked him twice could he give me this shaped. He said I can do shape, but not at that length. I told him I wanted my nails shorter than the picture, so I was okay with that. He starts to lay the acrylic and then stops at one finger. I ask him something wrong, no response. He proceeded to cut off all my tips with no warning. I was confused. I told him, I understand if he isn't familiar with the shape I wanted and I could just wait for another tech. No harm, I am a very understanding person with patience. The tech spoke in another language to his co workers, got up and left me at his station. Another tech had to step in and do my set. That tech was very patient, gave me the shape I wanted, work was okay, but I have to say...I wont visit again. Primer burn pretty bad and have a sliced pinky finger.
