When I first entered I was welcomed to a very happy and light atmosphere and greeted by a kind receptionist. My appointment was at 5 I was out of the salon in 3 hours which isn't bad at all. With that being said, there are 2 reasons why I wouldn't be returning. First, they charge before your hair is even styled. To me that's sketchy because what if I don't like my hair ? (Which happened to be the case in the end). Second, after I showed her my inspiration picture she did it completely different! I was like umm this is too fluffy. She said well it'll lay down when you wrap it up tonight. I was so confused. She could tell I wasn't pleased and asked what could she do. But we were the last ones in the salon and you could tell she wasn't REALLY tryna stay any longer. I was so upset cause I just paid $130 for something I had to go get fixed the next day by a inner city stylist. Who only charged me $50 because of my circumstances but would've been $90 without any. And let me to you she SMOKED my hair. I'm not gone be rude and advertise for her here but Just do your research before booking. Cause I just paid $180 for style that would've costed $90.

I made an appointment and I was blessed to meet her at the front desk. She and her staff, some of them greeted me so warmly, I felt right at home. I was there st 12:10 and was at the shampoo bowl By 12:25! Everything else was so easy. She asked what I wanted and was not ," scissor happy" She gave me exactly what I wanted. I walked out of the salon a very happy patron. Finally found a hairdresser that not only keeps appointments but Is a very humble person. The owner, Shae Mitchell Walker, did my hair herself. She also let me know that everyone in her salon can take care of me if she cannot. Such professionalism!!!!! I have my next appointment in (2) weeks. If you want a hairdresser that is good, listens to what you want,not over priced and very very humble. Even her staff is the same. Please check her out. She aims to make you a happy customer!!

Hello, so my finance was not going to use a make-up artist for her wedding day at all. it just one…read moreof those things that gets pushed off until last minute because you just dint fit things in your budget at first. I convinced her to have the girls have their makeup and hair done at the girls meet up location prior to the wedding. The other choice was to have the girls running around that morning, driving around, trying to stay on schedule. We had an early wedding at 2pm and we were going for pictures prior to that so we didn't want anyone to be late. After a few Facebook posts we were able to find a good referral from a friend about Chicago wedding make up with Mellissa and her team of professionals. So we talked to Melissa at first about 3 weeks prior to our wedding and she was very attentive to our needs, and she was available. She sent us a few different looks that would complement our wedding colors and few different looks that would go with the style of her big day. We had a retro style wedding planned and we had a certain look she was going for. I didn't car so much but she had everything planned in her mind and she is a tough customer. After we decided on a plan for the makeup my finance had to meet with all of our vendors for the wedding day. We met with Melissa and she was even more helpful and brought a portfolio that we can look at in person. She had some more great ideas for us and did allot of research for us which we were surprised to see. I didn't know how much is involved in make-up... and we wonder why it takes so long for our girls to get ready? After we met with Melissa we felt very comfortable with the whole thing so we signed the contract and we bought the makeup package for all the girls as a wedding day gift. A week prior to the wedding Melissa checked in with us to go over the final detail of the make-up plan which was a great relief. I wish all our vendors checked in with us. This was a nice touch. On the day of wedding she got the location early with her team member and she had her work cut out for her. We had 8 girls in the wedding party and she ended up doing my mother in law as well... for free! She also convinced me to put on a little make up which I was against, but she calmed my fears, showed me a few pictures of before and after photos of some grooms she has done previously. Boy am i glad i did that. I have never worn makeup before but i sweat allot and it helped me keep that shinny look from my wedding pictures. Mellissa and her team member Amy got the job, done, under budget, did my mother in law for free and did my makeup job for free as well. She made us feel comfortable and was very professional from start to finish. Oh i forgot to mention that my finance also took two weeks of her certified p90x training classes prior to the wedding and it kicked her butt. Melisa is a great person and a very motivated and positive individual. My now Wife has stayed in touch with Melissa and still goes to her p90x classes when she can make it to them. I can't say enough great things about her and her team member Amy. Melissa is a great all around person and i would recommend her to anyone that wants to have a stress free wedding make up experience. I wish all our wedding vendors were as great as she was.
