Back story: This is our second stay; we stayed here 3 years ago…read more We booked for 2 nights, 3 days at this hotel (Fri-Sun) for a staycation. The hotel is 25 years old (they had a placard stating they were celebrating their 25th anniversary). The hotel has a Spanish type of feel to it with multiple levels of seating from the lobby floor, and live music that was playing throughout our stay. There is an open bar/eating area as well which is nice for adults. We were given a room on the 7th floor which we were told were newly renovated, however the keyless lock on our door was missing the cover and the door was incredibly difficult to open and close. The room was neat and clean (forgot pics) and the bathroom was beautiful with a walk-in shower. Upon entry, the thermostat said 60 degrees but after leaving and coming back after 4 hours, it was still very warm. I texted the front desk on the Marriott app and they sent maintenance within 10 minutes. The guy said the AC was reading 75. He adjusted the vents, and you could feel the AC working a bit better, but by 930 pm, it was still quite warm. He did say that there is a sensor on the thermostat that shuts off the AC if it doesn't detect movement. It was 113 outside, so keep that in mind. I dislike saying negative things about places, but I want to be realistic: the sheets are like paper and extremely uncomfortable and the bedding is very heavy and scratchy - too much for Las Vegas extreme temps. We loved this hotel for the 2 huge pools, slide, and beach area. The beach area doesn't have shade except for 1 tattered canopy and the sand is quite hard and rocky. The pools have different closing times so be aware, and the beach and slide closes earlier. They used to have waterfalls at the lower pool but those are no longer working. The decking and walls of the pools show significant wear and lack of upkeep, which is sad. The showers outside of the pools show significant for washing off were hit and miss and don't always work which gives you no consistent option to rinse off the sand if you go on the beach area. They also have giant yard games to play in the pool area: chess, checkers, ping pong, connect 4 and corn hole. There are numerous tables around the games area for you to bring snacks and beverages while you play. There is a hot tub but it was covered and not accessible this weekend - we didn't ask why. Checking and check out was easy. Customer service was professional and pleasant. There are onsite restaurants but we did not indulge as we went into the village to eat. They also have a small arcade for kids (about 15 machines) located by the pool area. I'm not sure we would be back for a 3rd visit as the quality of the resort has definitely declined and the separate tourism and resort fees seem a bit excessive for the quality.

They sell day passes for the pool, so you don't have to be a hotel guest to enjoy this amenity. There were 10-15 of us that day so together we rented 3 cabanas. The staff were very accommodating and gave us 3 cabanas side by side. We were told the cabanas were technically free as long as we ordered a certain amount in food/drinks. Not bad in price once we split everything evenly. We ordered burgers, fries, chips, fruit platters, and beer buckets. The waitress was friendly and checked on us frequently. There is an upper and lower deck, one pool each and both are pretty spacious. There's cabanas and tents on both decks. There's also a slide which was super fun. The DJ was popping off with his music selection, he played a lot of bruno mars and other top 40s/pop and family friendly tunes. There's also a beach area with sand that led into part of a lake. Overall it was nice to escape the city and beat the heat. Would def recommend to any Vegas local looking to cool off during the summer without breaking the bank!

Smash burger - he said was good. Gyoza (sauce was great) and wontons were good. Lettuce wraps were tasty. Chicken tostadas had too much lime for me. About $50 and fed 3 of us. Food here goes from tacos, sushi, rice dishes, sashimi, to Asian fusion dishes. We started with the beet tostados, wasabi aioli, watermelon radish, jalapenos and cilantro. A beautiful, fresh and light crunchy tostado with a slight sweetness of the beets. A definite must try. The three blackened shrimp tacos with spicy mayo, yuzu cilantro slaw, cilantro and pickled red onions were tasty, over-dressed with slaw but a solid. Our final selection was the King Kong roll with spicey tuna, avocado, cucumber, and covered in togarashi tuna, wasabi aioli, crispy onions and ponzu. This was tasty, multiple flavors and a bit of a bite. Chinitas is fun and serves casual Asian fusion treats. The innovation here is spot-on. The food quality is decent while the environment is light and fun. Give Chinitas a try with friends after work or family members, I'm sure you will find a combo that makes your taste buds dance.

I loved how the decor and space transformed and knew I wanted to work with her. She was extremely prompt with my initial inquiry and after the first conversation, it was like talking to a good friend. She knows how to make the planning process VERY manageable and has a knack for spinning everything in a positive light. As a bride who was planning from far away without ever visiting the space, I was worried about all the details, and Amber was always available via phone and text to answer my 50 million questions. Our wedding wouldn't have been a dream come true if it wasn't for Amber. There's so much I want to rave about! For example... -- She let me mail some items to her and brought everything to the venue, and then shipped everything back to me too! -- She printed some wedding signs and also helped me find a projector screen very last minute and was extremely flexible with week-of and day-of changes, always being extremely positive about it all! -- The wedding timeline was changed VERY last minute and she accommodated all our wishes and asks -- She found our rental company and helped me think through options with the space arrangement and decor -- She set up everything EXACTLY how I imagined in our reception venue! -- She helped me work through issues with the reception venue to accommodate my guests according to covid guidelines (and calmed me down when I thought the reception was ruined!) -- The day of, she was a dream to work with. She was reading my mind during every moment of the reception and effortlessly made the wedding flow without any hiccups -- She has a natural ability to stay calm under pressure, handle crazy bridezillas (which I definitely was in some instances!), think of every small detail that would be important (yes you should buy plate chargers) and plan for every possible plan b and plan c. THANK YOU SO MUCH AMBER! You made this the most magical wedding. I wish everyone could work with you to plan their wedding because I truly believe you are the gold standard for wedding planners and the absolute BEST. If you are looking for a planner, contact Amber soon to see if she still has availability for you!

After interviewing two other wedding planners in the Las Vegas area - I stumbled upon Starry Eyed Events on Instagram and I just felt instantly connected with the page. We set up our consultation with them at a local coffee shop -- and I was extremely excited. Upon meeting Melina in person, I noticed two things: first was the binder she was holding - I was super excited to see what was in this mysterious binder that she had brought with her. The second thing I noticed was how kind and genuine Melina's energy felt right off the back. Melina walked through what happens when you plan a wedding and she walked us through the entire process from start to finish. I knew it was a lot to plan a wedding but oh boy I didn't realize there were hundreds of tasks that you'd never think about. After our consultation, we hired Melina almost immediately. From that moment, Melina helped us hammed down the details of how our wedding would feel, look, and helped us create a perfect ambiance for our guests. The funnest part was definitely the mood board we made for the wedding, Melina guided me with questionnaires and my Pinterest board to put my vision on paper and to explain it visually. Fast forward to our wedding day, Melina and her team were amazing! We received so many compliments about the professionalism of the team and about how efficient they were and how quick they were. You could barely tell that they were there working behind the scenes because they were so efficient and discreet with everything. My favorite team member was definitely the one who followed my husband and I around and made sure we had everything we needed (her job included holding our drinks while we took photos, grabbing us a new drink when needed, keeping us on track with the schedule, helping us find a family member that we wanted to interact with, and even more). I cannot thank Starry Eyed Events enough for helping us create a dream BETTER than I could've ever envisioned. I have recommended Melina & her team soooo many times and I will continue recommending them for any event, especially for weddings.
