Not friendly or even polite. Down hill from the experiences I had with them in years past.

First, the lady that did my pedi was very nice and she was gentle. Other than that, the worst pedi I've ever received. This place is dirty and not welcoming at all. They only take cash, so I had to leave and go to the ATM before my service. She didn't trim my cuticles or smooth my calluses. My 45 minute booked pedi was 25 minutes long and there were only about 25 polish options. I booked an extra 10 minutes massage and that didn't happen. And most important...the images on their website are not from their salon. They are from another salon in the area. Obviously I didn't realize this until I was in the chair and looking around. read more

I'm so blown away. I drove up and down Roosevelt trying to find the salon. I called a couple of times and apologized and she said that it was ok. Finally she had another woman tell me how to get there. I got there and she looked at my acrylic nails and said she didn't have powder and I should leave. I have used A Nails for all of my pedicures, which are hard to get in other salons. The chairs for pedis are nice and the massage works well, I like it. At one point the gentleman who works there recognized I had fungus growing on one toe. He told me what to buy and I did and eventually it did disappear. I was thankful he told me what was going on. They are rarely late, and they do a nice pedicure and polish. read more

Along with a friend we decided to get pedicures. We called for an appointment and was able to get two appointments the following day at the same time. When we arrived, on time, the nail tech was ready, no waiting. We promptly got comfortable and the pampering began. At the end of the nail services we were both very satisfied with the services. Overall, I was very satisfied and especially because I got what I requested and made the appointment for. No heavy push and attitude I have received other salons for not upgrading; treated with respect and courtesy. I will definitely return. I went to A Nails in Astoria, Oregon and had a great experience. I only had to wait for a few minutes and enjoyed chatting with the staff and other customers. The atmosphere was very friendly and had a small-town vibe. I opted for a pedicure and was happy that they didn't try to convince me to get a gel pedicure. (I prefer regular nail polish because I can remove it myself if needed). I also got a foot and leg massage while soaking, and it cost less than at other places along the coast. When I need to get my nails done, A Nails is my go to spot in the area. Color selection is decent, not the best, not the worst, but the quality and care that goes into their services is one hundred percent. The techs here are friendly and reassuring (they make sure to communicate during the process to make sure you are happy at every step). I made an appointment to get my nails painted with gel nailpolish. I had regular nail polish on and I needed my nails to be trimmed and shaped. The gentleman who was caring for my nails was visibly agitated that I had to have my nails prepared for polishing. He started painting The nails on my right hand, when I asked if he could trim up my pinky finger on my left hand because it wasn't the same length as the rest, he removed the nail Polish off my right hand and stated I was too picky and if I wanted to get my nails polished I was to do it myself. I was so horribly embarrassed I didn't know what to do. I offered to pay for what services he had provided and he threw his rag down and asked me to leave. I walked to my car and just cried. I've never been treated so horribly for asking somebody to simply do their job. I would never recommend this place. read more

DON'T GO! Save your money! I can't believe that these people are still in business. I wasn't able to look at colors of gel nail polish until my fills were done. Then when I tried to pick the gold glitter polish, I told him to make sure it covered the nail completely. When it looked like he didn't do what I asked, he yelled at me saying that's what I picked. I reminded him of what I said, but he was rude and unprofessional. I live in San Diego, California and pay $33 for acrylic fills and gel polish. The guy who did my nails charged me $41 then, with NO signs posted, told me that it was cash only. Then, I was sent inside a pot shop 2 doors down to use an atm and was charged an additional $3. I also had to show my ID to use the atm because you have to be 21 to use it. The guy had followed me to make sure I didn't stiff him and apparently had a female friend with him who looked at me like she was ready to tackle me to the ground if I took flight. I walked directly into his store and put the $41 cash on his table. No receipt. He had no paper. Really? So, no tip, naturally. BBB here I come! I was very polite when asking if I could get them reshaped better and was given extremely rude attitude. My friend and I got pedis and fills here today for the first time and I really liked it. The place was so clean, nothing fancy though as far as decor and such but extremely clean which is what you want in a nail salon! My nails look great just how I like them and the guy who did them is really nice. The only negative is I wish they would scrub the dead skin off better and do a better foot massage, but here in Astoria that's pretty hard to come by. Gel manicure on my daughter lasted 3 days before peeling. I called ahead and was quoted a price, however my bill in the end was CONSIDERABLY HIGHER. When I asked why, I was told it was because of the "extras." Basically they upcharge for anything and everything without telling you. $15 more for French Mani? What?? A friend of mine took me here I just moved here. My nails look so bad that I'm going back tomorrow and seeing if they can fix them I got a full set. Somewhere short somewhere along they were all crooked they look flat and went up where else can I start? The only reason why I didn't raise a huge fuss is because my best friend pay for my nails to get done. I was a repeat customer. Have seen the husband be rude to someone every single time. My last time there I was the victim of his abuse! He literally was mad when I didn't want to pay extra for long nails I told him I'd just let them grow out if he was going to charge me extra . Then he proceeded to agree to a length and make each nail after that subsequently shorter until my pinky was at what the professionals call Active length which is barely over the edge of your fingertip he thought that was his way of teaching me a lesson . I don't usually do reviews but felt I needed to this time. I just went in today to A Nails for the first time. I drove 45 minutes to go in for an appointment today at 11 AM and the guy that took me in was so rude when I told him how I like my nails I wanted my nails thin. He got very defensive told me I would need to have all new nails I just had new ones put on so I tried to explain that I don't want new nails I just want a feel but I just but just want to make sure they're not real thick He was extremely rude about the whole thing and I ended up walking out I'd heard from other people and read reviews that they were very rude there but I thought I would give it a try and sure enough the reviews were right. Never again. Too many other choices Add on So I just went to Beyond Nails in Warrenton Or. they got me right in. Great customer service very friendly and kim did a great job. These guys have not gotten enough credit so far in their reviews, granted it has been a while. Walking in to the salon, I was less than impressed by the atmosphere. There are small holes in the walls and printed pictures hung directly on the walls as well. It looks, to be honest, a little tacky. However, all three nail techs (two female, one male) were all so incredibly friendly and so accommodating. They all worked on me! They gave me exactly what I asked for and I may have gotten the best acrylic fill of my life! I went in with really thick acrylics from a different salon (in Gig Harbor, WA) and my shape and thickness was fixed without even asking! The files and buffers they used on my nails and feet were also sent home in a bag, so I'm under the impression that they're very sanitary. My only complaints are: I got a minor file burn on my pinky and the massage chairs (where you sit for your pedicures) seem a bit outdated as the massage was seriously lacking power. With that being said, I really couldn't say enough about how well my nails turned out and how well I was treated! I look forward to going back for my future acrylic and pedicures! read more

The worst experience i've EVER had at a nail salon. when he started doing my nails the station wasn't cleaned after the last client and i was having a service done with someone else's nail dust all over the place.. yuck! as he was doing my nails there was no apex or structure and when i asked him to make them thicker he only put more acrylic on the tip, not my nail bed where the acrylic was needed. the shape was nonexistent, i asked several times for them to be straight and i'm not sure what exactly i was sitting in the chair for nearly 2 hours for because my nails looked absolutely horrendous. he knew i didn't like my nails as he sent me home with a nail file and told me i could shape them at home. i was charged $85 for a service my 5 year old cousin could have done better. i went in the next day asking for a refund and them taken off, he refused to refund me or even try to fix them. i again asked if he could just take them off and he told me i had to pay him if i wanted them off. i asked for a manager and was told they would be out of town for the next 3 weeks. read more

Very nice lady who did my nails. Her name is Kim Oddly enough the last 3 people in a 50 mile radius to do my nails has been named Kim. For a pedicure and nail fill it's was $61 Which seems to be the going rate around here. Kim did my nails perfectly. I like my nails pointy and they tuned out better than any place I have been to since moving up here. I will say the pedicure was very basic no frills no hot towels etc. also no list menu to upgrade the pedicure they just kinda went at it and was done. No asking me if I wanted anything special which was a bummer because I did want a pampering treatment. My nails look good and my feet look great so that to me is worth it. The lady next to me had her nails done and they were beautiful also. Over all I would give them 5 stars. This is not a " fancy place" but they know what's up. read more

Only reason I give 3 Stars is the lady did a fabulous job, however, the husband is extremely rude. Jerked my arm around instead of using his words and communicating. For $20 I got a shellac French manicure. The wife did my nails and while her daughter who was working in the next station over was using cuticle oil and tending to her customer's cuticles the wife did not do any of this for me. I was skeptical at first when I walked in. The price board is rather confusing to me and the atmosphere was rather bland. But the wife did a confident, quick, nice looking manicure and for $20 that's hard to beat. I wish she did my cuticles, but I will definitely go back. read more

Absolute terrible pedicure. I am a licensed nail tech and they use dollar tree soap, a pumus block, and lotion. It takes about 12 minutes for a glorified polish change that starts at $26. In small towns we are stuck with what we have so they get away with lame lame services for a very high price (for what you get)....mediocre pedicure....(one guy got mad when I wanted hotter water for my presoak)....30 minutes max....literally nothing! They seem to think that a pedi is only about the color...no massage no care barely any scrubbing....WASTE of TIME and MONEY! Came in one week ago for shellac manicure. I've had many, but my sister in law was getting her first. As per the gals recommendation- we got French tips- classic white. She was very friendly, but there was only three people working- she was doing both of our manicures simultaneously- and only put one sloppily applied topcoat on. We could tell there were going to be weak spots- and they didn't have the tough hard feeling my nails normally have with the shellac. Fast forward ONE week- both of our manicures are looking horrible. One of mine got bumped and completely broke off, and the whites were cracked and chipped on nearly every nail. My SIL called and they told us to come in at 10:30 to have them fixed. We are located about 30miles away in Ocean Park- but decided to try again. When we got there- the guy examine four nails and tried to make excuses about how if you type a lot or are hard on them they chip- and I basically called him out and said- we didn't do anything super harsh- and that the nature of the shellac if done correctly should mean it survives more than your average polish. Anyway- at first the plan was just to repair the severely damaged nails and slap another coat on the others- but then the lady looked at them and suggested we do a solid color to help them last longer- and she removed everything and started fresh. Things were going decent until they switched again and the guy came back- SLOPPED another coat of topcoat on- and declared us done. My SIL had a black fuzzy on one of her nails- asked to have it removed before further coats be applied- but he shrugged her off and said no one would notice it. We both still have speckles of white in the corners where some of the old white shows through as well. I just find the attitude of "no one else will notice" to be unacceptable. In whose world is it okay to leave hair stuck to your nails? I know at least one person who had an appointment walked out while we were there because they were 20 minutes late getting her in and she couldn't wait. You can try making an appointment- but with only the owners working- its hard to say whether it will help you. read more

The wife does an excellent job when she does not feel rushed, but I often get stuck with her husband if I do not specify for only her. He usually rushes, is indifferent, and doesn't pay attention to the details... His attitude is "good enough". The only reason I go is because I can get a acrylic replacement nail, fill, and air brush tips for under $30. So as long as you stand firm in making sure the details are to your liking, they can be pretty good. read more

I got acrylics done here because my normal nail guy was out of town and I needed these for an important event going on. I got my nails done exactly 5 days before the night of the event and the day of it, my thumb nail came off. If you've ever had your nails done before, you know your thumb is usally the last to come off. I refuse to go back there. The husband is very rude and they just don't care about their work. If you're just getting your nails painted I'm sure they're fine but I will not get an acrylic set here again. read more

Took my fiancé in to have her nails done, to start she has a simple request to have a French tip PAINTED! On her nails, "nope can't do that" after sitting down and agreeing for just a simple paint color, which she wasn't given a chance to select ahead of time, (like most places do) this guy doing her nails worked for over 30 minutes to remove the old polish with a dremal (something that shouldn't take more than 5 minutes) and to add to the already growing frustration, he continually digs the dremal into her critical and cause her to audibly say "ouch" and explain to him what's happen and he doesn't seem to get it. She has had her nails done every 2 weeks for the last 15 years and never had anyone take this long or be this poorly trained. And let's not even forget that fact that this guy BENT! two of her rings in the process. The professionalism of this place is atrocious. I never get my nails done. I've gotten acrylics once before. The guy was rude and I had no clue what I wanted. The acrylic is uneven and the gel polish has streaks and lines. Also the tips aren't filed down smooth so they stab me here and there and are really bugging me. He wanted me to hurry and pick a color, I should have just done color tips or French manicure but I can't understand anything they say, so I just kept asking him what he said and finally said OK after I couldn't understand him over and over. I'll try to upload a pic of my nails because the Polish looks awful. Also my cuticles weren't pushed down all the way and the Polish wasn't started at the bottom so if you look closely, it looks like I need a fill already, even though they were done today. 48 bucks for this. Also everything seems super unsanitary. Random nail clippers pulled out of a drawer made me wonder how many previous nails had been cut. The drill tip was not new or clean either. When they spray your nails with alcohol at the end, it seems rather pointless if their tools are sanitized.
