I was trying to be nice in my last review but almost a month later I've had to take my tragus out and change the helix jewelry. Like I said you get what you pay for. I asked piercer beforehand if my tragus was too small to pierce. He didn't even look at me and said yes. He was pushy and got straight to it without any consultation. Obviously just need the money because I was paying within one minute of walking in. I felt pressured and should've advocated for myself more. Had to go to another place to take it out and change the helix. Luckily I can keep the helix but it was done at an angle where some jewelry just won't look right. Moral of the story just because it's cheap doesn't mean you should. I paid 60$ to get my helix changed and tragus taken out and it already feels SO much better hours later. Also don't let piercers tell you, you can get a hoop. Don't do it. read more

Well I went in despite the negative reviews, and I was very pleased. No he wasn't a chipper cheerful go lucky piercer, but he was professional, clean and quick. At no time did I feel uncomfortable or that he was being rude. He has a great process of asking you to breathe. Also I was concerned about the swelling, as I know I swell a lot. I recently (11/13) received a nose piercing and it healed wonderfully. It did come out maybe a week after having it pierced due to me being a somewhat wild sleeper. However, they happily placed the ring back for me and even since that incident I've had no problems. I am darker skinned and have keloid in the past but no issues here! Yay. My friend and I got matching tattoos there in May and both tattoos already look yrs old, the color has disappeared on most of the tattoo already and we were charged $100 for each tattoo that were smaller than the palm of my hand, they were all black! !!!WARNING!!! DO NOT COME HERE!!! I came to get the other side of my nose pierced yesterday and was helped by ( i forgot his name) skinny white guy, black painted nails, dark brown slick backed hair. He makes me sign all the paper work - no problem. I asked to see the nose piercings and he says "we only have one style so you have no choice" AND WILL NOT SHOW IT TO ME! THEN he decides to go smoke outside for 15 minutes!!! There was NO ONE in the shop besides two people the artist and someone getting tattooed. So he comes back in reeking of smoke...he is walking to the back and says i'll call you when im ready. Finally he calls me back - i see NO sterilization kit NOTHING. I should have known to leave. I wanted to match my piercing on my left side to the right side. It took him 15 minutes to figure that out, he eventually gets so frustrated and says "yeah your nostril is bigger than the other thats the best i can do." At this point i'm like eff it if i hate it i'll take it out. As soon as he pierced me a tool snapped off and hit me in my eye! Thank god it was closed! I just wanted to RUN out of there at this point. He goes over ZERO AFTERCARE WITH ME! NOTHING! (I have tattoos and piercings but that is protocol!) So he walks away from me and i said "uhh do you have the aftercare spray?" I was holding $17 in my hand and he blatantly saw that and goes "uhh yeah uhm its $17" So I knew my nose was screwed up. So today i go to another place and this freaking dude DID NOT EVEN SCREW THE PIECE ALL THE WAY INTO MY NOSE!!! IT GETS WORSE - it was SO off-centered too! No f***king wonder somebody got disease here!!! Then I call to speak to the manager and the chick on the phone DOES NOT EVEN KNOW THE MANAGERS NAME OR WHEN HE WILL BE IN! If I could give a negative star I would. I normally don't post "bad" reviews but I feel people should be aware of how unprofessional this shop is/was. Even after reading all the yelp reviews, half good & half bad, I still wanted to check them out bc they was having a piercing sale. They open at 12pm, I arrived at 12:02pm, the workers where out front smoking and said they are open to go in. I went in, completed the legal paperwork and patiently waited. After 30mins of waiting, I asked how much longer will it take to even meet the person who will be piercing me and the receptionist had no idea. 15mins later (still no update of waiting status) I left. Took my wife to get two small matching tattoos and Phil was low key rude. He told me multiple times that I could come and get a touch up and each time I came back he had an excuse on why I didn't need a touch up. Even another tattoo artist said he could see where I needed a touch up . We were charged $120 each and I tipped him and I still got poor service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! DON'T GET PIERCED HERE. I got my nose pierced here a while ago and I got infected and I always had a feeling it was due to the way they pierced it or the material or something because I've never had an issue with any piercing. Then I got my belly button pierced last week here and they literally pierced my STOMACH. I got a second opinion from a professional and they said that the piercer grabbed too much skin so now my stomach is healing with an indent of the ball that's pressing against my stomach. My stomach is basically swallowing the jewelry because they pierced it wrong. I even called to see if they can switch it out with a longer bar or SOMETHING but the dude who pierced it didn't even bother to take my call. Staff isn't incredibly friendly, but they definitely aren't rude. Personally, I don't mind, but if it's your first piercing, you may feel a bit intimidated. I've gotten 3 piercings by Retro. He's skilled and very straightforward. If you're extremely nervous and need your piercer to sort of hold your hand through the process, this place may not be for you. !!!!WARNING!!!!! DO NOT COME HERE!! On the left is the picture I showed Ben, or @marcumuptattoos on instagram, for reference. The only thing I wanted changed was the wording so that it would say "je suis belle". 3 times he showed me the stencil and each time I asked him if he could make the lines more curved and if he could make the font look like the picture. Not too much to ask for considering this was going to be permanently on my body, right? He fixes the stencil, I approved it, and I thought all was well. WRONG. After getting home is when I realized how poorly done my tattoo really was. The line work is shaky and it doesn't even look like he traced the stencil AT ALL. I went in today to speak with him and tell him about how unhappy I am with the tattoo and how it is NOT what I asked for. He rudely told me there is nothing he can do for me and if I wanted a cover up i'd have to pay extra. His opinion was, and I quote, "I think the tattoo is good. It's not infected, it's not botched up, it's fine." I have spoken to 4 other tattoo artists and all of them have agreed with me on how poorly done the tattoo is. This isn't my first tattoo either. As an artist, how can he not recognize how poor of a job he's done? Wouldn't he want to correct his mistake and at least try to fix it for HIMSELF? That shows how low quality of an artist he really is. Do NOT come here and do NOT go to Ben. You most likely will not receive quality work if you're asking for line work. Got my ear pierced back in December 2015.. I noticed that my earring that I paid extra for started to change color after two months .. I called them to see if I could come back and change out the earring .. I could for a small fee .. I don't understand why I would have to pay another fee .. When I originally got pierced there .. So, to make a long story short ... I went to Stroke of Genius to get the earring I wanted and that wouldn't change color . I won't be back to New Dimension to visit Retro ...anytime soon . read more

Do not get your nose pierced here. It will fall off because the stud they use for your nose aren't meant to be used as nose piercings. After having my piercing fall off twice I went somewhere else and got a proper stud. read more

I've been here a few times and I've always had a good experience. It's very clean and everyone was very knowledgeable. Retro is a very creative, skilled and fast piercer. Before I knew it my piercing was in before I could even think about it hurting. It's hard not to take advantage of the awesome buy one get one deal. They put my tattoo on upside down then tried to blame it on me and "how I was laying" I think about my tattoos for a long time before I get it so for them to fuck it up and tell me it's not upside down "it depends on how you lay." I guess I'm supposed to be laying down forever for people to read my tattoo correctly. I'm absolutely pissed off. This is my second tattoo I've ever had. Then the artist proceeds to say " you're welcome to come back after it heals and I can cover up." I will NEVER go to that shop ever again. Common sense would be to put the beginning of the quote at the beginning of my spine instead of in the middle of my back right? Yeah they said it's not upside down . Ok so I've been coming to this location for the past 4 years. My first experience was with Retro. Most of the time when I'd come into to see him he had a nasty attitude for no reason. I got a nostril piercing from him once and he didn't screw the ball on tight enough and it fell off. I came in the next day to get a new one and you would've thought that I kicked this guy's puppy. He gave me all sorts of attitude for HIS mistake and never offered an apology. The next piercer that I went to I don't recall his name but he has man bun and has a pure heart. He has beautiful energy and you can tell that he loves what he does. My only complaint with him is that he gave me the wrong size rings for my piercings and they're starting to close up. I came in yesterday and was met with Retro and his unpleasant attitude for the last time. I pay entirely too much money for my work to not be done correctly and to deal with your incompetent employee. I'm never coming back to this place again. Don't bother trying to make it up to me because most of the negative reviews are about the piercer and we all know who that is and you've done nothing about it.
