So I decided to start waxing again and to finally make my overdue return. Unfortunately, the tech doing my waxing from several years ago is no longer working here so I made my appt. with Patricia, who was available in the time slot I needed. She was very polite. But she would do large chunks of waxing at a time, which was the most painful experience I've ever had. EVER. And even when I had asked her to apply pressure with her hand after a large batch (to help reduce the pain), she did it for the first few and then stopped. I know she was trying to be efficient and while I appreciate that, it was a horrendous experience. Not only that, but when she was done, I still had leftover wax on my legs!!! See atttached photos. It was all over and I had to peel off my leggings when I got home because they were stuck to me. Ironic because I was just telling her about the worst waxing experience I've ever had (from another salon) where there was leftover wax on me. After peeling my leggings off, I noticed two things: patches of skin where she had literally broken SEVERAL blood vessels (2-3 patches of this - see photo) and patches of hair that she missed entirely. So I didn't even get a good waxing after all that pain! I can't begin to voice my disappointment in this establishment. But when I have to shave my legs the day after an incredibly painful waxing, I know I won't be back. There are too many other salons in Omaha that offer waxing who do the whole job efficiently, thoroughly and with minimal pain to their clients.

Threading is all about skill, and Yon clearly is top of her class. Her studio is in the basement of an office complex, not quite 'posh,' kind of like sitting in someone's living room (Judge Judy was even on in the background). First thing she does is examine your face and profile -- analyzing your facial structure and what eyebrow would look best on you. She immediately identified certain areas that needed a little improvement. She then goes to work with her thread and tweezers. At the end of the experience, she took out her eyebrow pencil and drew areas that she wanted me to grow out to to "remodel" my brows. I was impressed. Not only did she cost less than most waxing salons, but she really brought skill to the table. I'm excited to visit next time after I've let certain areas grow back in.

Mary, the Electrologist, is very friendly and professional. Her prices are very fair and affordable. Electrolysis WORKS and is permanent. You do have to go for a series of treatments but once the hair follicle is killed, the hair is gone forever. Definitely recommend, especially for smaller areas of the body where the price of laser hair removal is not worth it (I do like laser hair removal for larger areas of the body though). Plan on getting other areas treated with electrolysis in the future.

Kaitlyn mentioned in the beginning that she does medium pressure, not deep tissue. I was disappointed to hear this, however, the pressure she used was perfect! She asked about any problem areas, and I explained a few spots in my back that are always tight. She spent a good amount of time on these, and they feel very relaxed afterward. The whole experience was very calming, the room is set up well, lights dimmed to a good setting, and the sheets in bed are comfortable. The pregnancy bed has an opening for your belly, so lying here was the most comfortable. I've been on my stomach in months! When I flipped over, she put a soft pillow over this opening, so it was also comfortable to lie on my back with the opening covered. The cover itself has a slight angle upwards near your head, making it comfortable for a pregnant woman to lie on this, as you are not flat on the bed. Overall, this was a fantastic massage! The only thing I would change is that the music was incredibly slow, and I prefer a bit of a melody to help my brain relax. This is a very minor note, and just my personal preference. I would highly recommend booking a massage at oasis with Kaitlyn!
