My family, daughter, son-in-love, and grandson, and I had a great first time at APFD horseback riding ranch on 12/31/2025. It was a highlight of our holiday season. Roland, our trail guide, was outstanding. He has a loving command of the horses as an experienced horse trainer, who is majoring in animal science. His relationship with the horses made us feel secure. He floated back and forth, chatting with each rider and ensuring that everyone was well. I visited APFD on a random Monday. I called ahead, right when they opened around 10 and scheduled a same day 1 hour ride. I made an online payment to secure the horses and we were on our way. It was a pretty smooth process. The horses were pleasant and not intimidating. Our guide was an experienced rider and answered every question we could of lol. They have many different kinds of animals there, it gives ranch but not farm vibes. *insider tip* They offer 2 different types of rides! A regular trail ride and an "experience" trail ride which includes trotting and cantering. This is good to know so you schedule accordingly. They use different horses for different experiences. Apple Maps kept redirecting me every 5 min and delaying me an extra 20min!, so i would recommend just searching "A Place for Dreamers" and get directions. Just go! Visited APFD today for a friends birthday party. We had a great time! The staff is very friendly and polite. They were very patient with our group of newbies. They explained how to use the reins to get the horse to move they way you want it to. The horses are very tame and gentle and well taken care of.This family owned and run business is amazing! From the wonderful reviews on the phone, to the inquiry call I placed for my family of 4, to the reservation, and to the actual experience - everything was a wonderful experience for us first time riders from beginning to end. My family and I were in town from Chicago for a wedding, and wanted to do something memorable that we can always cherish before we left. I found A Place For Dreamers on Yelp, and immediately knew this was a rare opportunity for my us to experience an activity together as first-timers. I gave a call, was greeted on the phone very nicely, and all my questions were answered. I felt comfortable and ready to book, so I made the reservation for me, my wife, my 9 year old, and 8 year old. After a beautiful drive, we arrived where we could immediately see the beautiful horses. We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who made sure we were comfortable from the beginning all the way to the end of the experience. He gave us a very clear tutorial, and we were riding before we knew it. The ride itself was pleasant on the trails, and not once did we ever feel uncomfortable or worried about directing our horses. We drove away very happily, and have a lot of memories to cherish. We do not live in Texas, otherwise we'd be coming back very soon. Next time we visit the area, we certainly will stop by again. This spots amazing for couples. I went for my anniversary and we both loooved it. A place for dreamers was a wonderful way to kick off my birthday celebrations!!! We had an awesome 10 minute tutorial before riding the track for an hour and 10, with the whole thing lasting 90 minutes. Chose my favorite horse, Jada, and was able to feed her after we finished! The staff was excellent and made the loops around the track very pleasant with their conversation; I learned a lot and felt very comfortable riding the biggest horse with their assistance! My boyfriend surprised me and took me there along with his friend his wife and their kids everything was pretty cool at first but was surprised to find out that we were going to ride the horses back and forth on a street rather than in a field like the pictures showed. when I asked him about are we going into the field or just staying on the street? He said no I don't think we can go into the field and then at the end of the hour we spent there I said out loud I just wish it was a field and he replied and said oh you should have told me earlier there's a very nice field I take customers to I couldn't believe my ears really dude? not only did I ask you in the beginning but this is something you're supposed to tell us not just take us on the street because you're too lazy to go to the field. read more

I purchased a trail ride for 2 for my boyfriend for Christmas and they haven't let us ride this entire time. I was treated so horribly by this place. If you're looking for them to steal money from you, and every time you try to make an appointment they either ignore you all together or book your appointment and then a day before tell you that someone else has gotten the appointment or the weather is too bad (apparently 65 degrees is too cold, this happened numerous times). Finally I asked for my money back and I received a very horrible text message from I am guessing the owner. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. read more

I called multiple times most times I left I message on the machine to call me back, but several times someone would answer the phone and promise to call me back. Never heard from them. Everyone was very nice that we spoke to. Sometimes the phone number doesn't work, but call later or the next day. Make sure to distinguish if you have a groupon bc some trainers they staff only take cash. It's a small field and also down the road, and not a traditional trail ride per say.
