Man, I bookmarked Oyster Creek Park for many years. Today was my first time set foot in here. I needed to get my daily steps in. So, I came with a friend with the same desire. The trail was paved but not always the same width. Some parts were narrower than others. I saw warning signs for the cyclists to give room for pedestrians. Oh, the restroom is on the right side of parking lot. There were many parking spots. Lucky us, we came here at sunset hour on a windy day. Not many park goers there. I would love to return on a sunny day in the summer. read more

The biggest park in Sugar Land has about three miles worth of trails. It's a nice place for a stroll or a short run. The parking lot is small, so I bet it gets full during peak hours. They have clean restrooms with soap in the parking lot. read more

This is such a cute park in Sugarland. You can spot turtles and alligators and lots of little creatures about. The creek is cute.There's nice water features around and the trails are clean. We saw lots of families having picnics in the area. The bridge entrance to the park is nice to walk over and parking is free. Thankfully we didn't see any snakes! read more

2020 has been the year of nature for me. With all of the time I'm spending indoors, it's nice to get some fresh air and spend some time in nature. I stopped by Oyster Creek Park on Thanksgiving day for an hour or two. Located right off of Highway 6, there's a complimentary parking lot right outside of the park. After you park, walk across the bridge and you'll arrive to a picturesque man-made lake of sorts with rock formations and tiny waterfalls. This is a common photo opp and you'll often find people here taking graduation pictures. Beyond the center of the park, there's a circular walking trail and some additional trains. The main route has benches along the way, plenty of grass where you can have a picnic, and picnic style tables and BBQs where you can grill out. There are also a good number of sculptures and murals as you make your way. The sculptures include an alligator, kids rollerblading, and more. The murals, eight or so in total, are all different. Pretty awesome to check them all out! There were a good number of families here and small gatherings. I even meditated on a bench. Like a lot of spots in Houston or the burbs, the park is close to main roads so you still can hear traffic as you're in the park. That takes away a little bit from the serenity. But, all in all, though artificially made in park, Oyster Creek Park is a nice spot to relax and to have a picnic. read more

I'm not a regular at this park but thought it was very nice and clean! The regulars that I was with said they "Will Not Be Moved " due to the ignorance and bad day that apparently someone was having! This park is highly recommended for prom, graduation, and portraits photo shoot. The fountain area and the trails makes great sceneries for your pictures. It's especially crowded on the weekend because everyone comes here for that. Parking is limited in the lot but they have an extra dirt lot on the side. There is also a restroom, not the cleanest but doable. There is a nice walking trail and a beautiful fountain in the center. Great sceneries that you can enjoy maybe on a not so crowded day. Overall, a great community park in Sugarland to get some exercise or down time. read more

Another free park in houston! This is an average sized park I came to a few years ago, however during covid we were craving a good nature park. We were close by so we stopped at Oyster Creek Park on a saturday afternoon. There was plenty of parking but it was packed!!! The main area with the fountain and picnic tables were so busy we decided to to take the other route. We saw a new trail that had been built after we came to this park a few years back, which took around an hour to complete. It was interesting because it went from the normal park area into a neighborhood area and at the end, you are at Dulles Rd so it was one way, you will have to turn back and return back to the park area. It was not a looped trail. There were turtles and bunnies!! We loved seeing the animals. I would recommend this park however for covid and your own saftey's sake, i would complete the trail and not the normal fountain area. read more

Oyster Creek Park is a beautiful suburban park out in Sugarland. As you pull up to the park, you'll be greeted by a picturesque bridge that leads you into the main section of Oyster Creek. At the sculpture of the children, the path splits off into the short Garden Loop Trail and Oyster Creek Trail. The Garden Loop trail takes you around the main section of the park, and is only 1/4 mile long. There's also the option to take a longer Oyster Creek Trail, which would later lead you to the Lost Creek Loop. These trails takes you through a neighborhood and are less scenic. Follow along with this trail map online. We took the Garden Loop Trail. The main park itself is a great spot for photography and we saw many photoshoots going on here on a crisp fall morning. Bring a nice camera when visiting! We didn't have time to explore the rest of the park, but will definitely be back to explore. read more

Beautiful park in Sugar Land! It's a great place to go grill, spend the day with your family, and walk your dog. There's a beautiful walking trail that goes in a huge circle around the park. Many families use the backdrop here for professional photos. Many students use the park features for senior photos. We've been here for the 4th of July festival and fireworks. Make sure to get there early as parking is limited for festivals. If you are in the area, check it out. It's a beautiful place! From their website: This three-mile hike and bike trail is accessible from Lexington Blvd., Dulles Ave., and Hwy 6. In addition to the Greenbelt trail, a water feature with rock lined falls and a pond is constructed near the Hwy 6 entrance, adjacent to Oyster Creek. Emergency call boxes exist along Oyster Creek Trail. This facility includes: 78 parking spaces, 5 picnic tables, drinking fountain, grills, benches and the Liberty Garden (rose garden). Restroom facilities are available. A stage/amphitheater covering accentuates Parks and Recreation's Concert Series, Red White & Blue fest and other special events. This park is pretty well maintained and populated during both weekday and weekend, making it more lively and amiable. While there are more suitable dog park in the area, this park seems to be more family friendly and easy walking with multiple trails. The waters contain several turtles, snakes, and occasional gators. The faux gator can look sort of scary to those who've never been to the park and also appear different when the water level rises, then recedes. There are several statues located throughout the park alongside benches, waste disposals, and drinking fountains. Overall a nice and clean park to enjoy! read more

This park is absolutely gorgeous! There's plenty of parking (off-road parking) and the trails are easy to navigate through. The park itself is very well kept. There are beautiful fountains right as you walk in. The various trails that are offered fits the needs of everyone - from bikers to joggers to roller blades (yes, I've seen plenty of people roller blading still!) The city of Sugar Land maintains this park so well. I have been to this park both in the daytime and nighttime and have never felt threatened or unsafe. I have seen many families take their kids here and feel safe. The beauty of this park has led to many photo shoots taking place here - I've seen both family photos and engagement photos and I've only been here a small handful of times! There are a variety of artwork strewn around the area and various memorials dedicated to outstanding members of the community. If you're looking for a good place to run or bike or just wanting to take a short (or long) stroll with a friend, this is the place you want to be. read more

Great place for some simple outdoor activities. Not only are there plenty of the usual -- joggers, families, couples etc, but this is a popular place for photographers. Lots of girls have their quinceanera photos taken here. The spacious park is well maintained, with plenty of natural and man made elements. Plenty of wildlife is visible throughout the the year. I've seen a hawk, skink, rabbits, bluejays, cardinals, red-ear slider turtles, and even tadpoles. There's a few picnic tables and grills on site as well. The paved trail system that goes through the park is nice for waking and jogging. There's a few cyclists too, but the trail isn't very long. If you come right at sun down, you'll see fireflies near the entrance of the park. Lovely! On the 4th of July they always set off a fireworks display. For goodness sake, do NOT feed the alligators. It's even posted on the park rules sign. Leave the wild animals alone, idiot humans. read more

On July 4th, many, many people enjoy at the park to see firework in the night. They can bring the chairs, blankets, tables, and food. Families and friends can take beautiful and awesome pictures of their families and friends for the birthday party, graduation, and model photos. Everyone can eat at the park. There are BBQ grills next to each picnic table. I suggest you to bring the tablecloth. They exercise at the park. There is the people biking, jogging, walking, with dogs and children. I've passed by this park plenty of times. But, I never got around to visiting it until recently. They have a decent sized parking lot. The entrance to this park was really nice. There's a crossing bridge with a water fountain in front. I loved the rock landscaping around the fountain. Below the entrance bridge, there were also many turtles, young and old, swimming in the water. I've never seen this many turtles in my life. It was turtle paradise. Beyond the entrance, there was a lot of space in this park to walk around and social distance. There were even some trails along the river, as well as those that led to a long row of power lines. There were enough spots for shade and seating too. If you don't want to sit on the park benches, there's lots of grassy areas to lay a blanket over to relax. Overall, I enjoyed this park and would come back for some fresh air, space to roam, and people watch. read more

First impression, very picturesque. The blue fountain/ man made creek area is my favorite part. There were many people around that area taking family photos both amateur and professional. The bronze statues add a little something to the parks appeal along with the artistic door art. Large open field for those with dogs or kids. Enough distance for a stroll but not for serious runners or bike riders however I did notice a dirt trail running through this park and alongside the power lines. Benches scattered here and there with dedications to passed loved ones. Overall a nice experience. read more

Beautiful park. Great for walking or running. This place is a popular park for photos. There's NOT a playground. However, there is plenty of fun nature for the children to enjoy. Lots of water spots to enjoy and relax around. There's also areas to stop and notice the art displays or memorials. Benches are plenty and so is the area for picnics or playing around. Only thing I didn't like was there was little shade near all side walks. The restrooms are also located on the outside, entrance of the park. This makes it difficult if you're with a small group and you have to leave for a few minutes. No big deal, we didn't need them on this visit and so I can't tell you how they were. Oyster Creek Park is both a park and a trail. It is absolutely beautiful! The grass is ever-green and well-kept. The trail is long, and it's the one of the cleanest trails I've ever been to. It's also every easy to navigate, you won't get lost or anything. Oh, can't forget to mention the wonderful mini-waterfalls. If you're an avid Pokemon Go player like I am, you have to try this park. They spawn a lot of Pokemon's here. There is a path that has Pokestops one right after another. It is definitely suitable if you want to have a photography session here. The trails and paths are perfect for bike riding and running. It has numerous benches and even a tent if you want to just sit there and enjoy the view. You don't have to worry about finding parking because there is a lot of open spaces. read more

For this review I have to give a special shout-out to Melissa M for helping me actually find this place. So after seeing this review I had bookmarked it and planned a trip to come out this way to check out some parks. Well Yelp's maps/google maps/GPS is terrible when it comes to stuff on HW6. It's either off or just wrong. Well luckily in this case it was just off by a little bit. I drove around back and forth for about 20 minutes when I finally decided just to call Melissa and ask her where the heck I was going. Luckily she picked up her phone and had computer access. So she was able to nagivate me to this place. So where is it? It's a little past settler's way on hwy6. If you are going north bound on hwy6 bust a U turn and it will be your right. The sign is small so you still might miss it. This place is awesome. For a hidden away park the parking lot was packed. A lot of the locals must know what's up. This place is beautiful. Even in the hot hot Houston summers you can still get away with coming out here due to all of the trees. There is just so much area to walk and look at. One of my new favorite parks! read more

Oh my god this park is beautiful! I almost want to keep this place as secret as possible and not write a review. But my duty as a Yelper can't/won't allow me to. Came here with the boyfriend last Saturday morning to participate in Run to Cure HD. It was 8am, so we were already groggy and dreading just having to wake up early on a Saturday morning. But as soon as we stepped foot into this park, we suddenly became wide awake. We couldn't get over how beautiful this park is and we enjoyed our 3 mile walk around here. Supposedly, there's alligators and snakes in a swamp next to one of the trails, but I think you'll be okay if you just stay on the trail. This park is huge and I like how they have posts for you to call the police in case of an emergency; makes me feel a bit safer to walk around here. I may have only been here once, but I'd really love to come back here just to hang out and enjoy the scenery. read more

Beautiful park! Decided to come here with the family and we enjoyed it very much. Our walk/run was very nice and relaxing. The park has nice trees and water where you can see turtles and also a crocodile so be careful. It wasn't super packed when we went so that was nice. You can also ride your bikes around the track and there are restrooms which are very convenient. I also liked the artwork around the park, it is nice to see when you are walking. This isn't NYC's Central Park, but hey, it's in the Greater Houston Area where the cost of living is low and the lack of amenities reflect that. I usually come here when I'm visiting my parents since we live in one of the hoods that connect to the walking path off of Dulles Ave The turtles over the bridge by the entrance on HWY is pretty freakish. My parents and I came here with a giant trash bag full of old stale bread and had a blast feeding those turtles. There really are hundreds of them going after your food. Sugar Land does have a cool July 4th celebration with a concert and fireworks. I dragged my parents and brother out here one year to check out the festivities and they loved it. So nice to be able to walk to this park and not have to drive here like everyone else. read more

One of the most delightful 3 mi. trails around. Weaves along bayou with about half of it shaded. In one trail you wind past glorious fountains, remote shaded picnic tables and benches and outdoor art along a paved asphalt double wide trail shared with cyclists, skaters and joggers. don't miss the turtle colonies neath the bridges. Very beautiful park that isn't too far from home! It's smaller than your Hermann or buffalo Bayou park, but it's just as relaxing to be in. They have a lot of scenery for photoshoots, lots of Pokemon, pokestops, and a nice track for running, jogging, or biking. I took my senior pictures here back when I was in high school.
