Dr. Vince Penesis had extensive knowledge of my autoimmune disease, Sjogren's Syndrome, which is rare to find and necessary given the effects Sjogren's has especially with dry mouth. Dr. Vince Penesis took the time to explain everything to us. What to expect and what could be our next step. Patiently he answered all our questions with the utmost respect. The second procedure was a tooth bleaching. Again he took the time and explained what was done, every outcome, and then our options. Everyone in the entire office is friendly, kind and honest. I cried the first ten minutes I was in the office , because i was so upset that I needed a root canal to fix the searing pain that I was in after leaving the last dentist's office. However, Dr. Ricks is patient and kind. She has the right equipment for the job. My first root canal took FOUR APPOINTMENTS elsewhere- this took one. ONE. One appointment!! My previous dentist had prescribed prescription painkillers THREE TIMES over the course of one root canal- they did nothing to stop the pain. After Dr. Ricks completed the procedure in ONE visit, I did not need anything other than Tylenol and Advil. That's it! Do not get a root canal from a dentist. See an endodontist. Better yet, see THIS endodontist.

Thankfully, they resolved this so I removed my review. This review, however, will not be removed. The root canal done on my wife ended up infected because it was not done properly. When an X-Ray was done at the new dental office we go to, it turns out not all of the root was removed which explains the infection. Do not come here unless you want to get another procedure done on the same tooth and spend even more money.

Just get back today from a quick root canal follow up visit with Dr. Burgener @ Wheaton office ... Couldn't be more happier with the result of root canal.( All the issues with tooth were fixed in just one previous visit ) ************************************************************ Below more details: ( For patients whoever want to know more) The Situation with my tooth was complicated (before root canal).. During the first visit , Dr. Burgener immediately point out there was serious Periodental Pocket around the tooth..If it is left untreated.. The tooth probably can not be saved eventually (even after root canal)... From that moment , I realize why she become Excellent Surgeon..(Looking at the root causes of a issue, foresee all other problem in the mouth that will cause future root canal failure...) Gum issues/ Disease is a different function(Periodentist) I was expecting her to say " After Root canal.. Suggest to see Periodentist) But she never say anything like that... To my surprise, As a talented Endodontist, She come up with a creative solution( Special filling with medication to cover the gum area).. So here I am , Within 2 Weeks after root canal.. My Gum @ that Problem tooth area come back( almost fully recovered) As we all know, Periodental pockets / Disease are difficult to treat...and very very slow recovery.. or in certain cases.. Can not be reversed at all. I feel I owe Dr Burgener a Big "Thank you".. She fix both the tooth problem( Root canal) and Periodental issue( Gum Pocket) in one visit for root canal.
