We left the center with my oldest from 2022-2024 and my youngest, 2 yo was with her older sister at another center. Last summer/fall a lot of issues started with my youngest at the other Center and it was having a negative effect on her in multiple ways. We pulled her out and decided to return to Kindercare Elkridge and are so glad we did. Since the shutdown, management changed again and improved. Ms Christina was one of my oldests infant teachers so we already knew she cared about the kids and really knew her stuff. Ms Amanda is the new director and we love how she'd rather build the center back up slowly, even if it means keeping a few classrooms closed until she can find quality teachers, rather than rush to fill rooms with warm bodies. They're really trying to restore kindercare to its previous glory. And the 2s teachers Ms Heather and Ms Chelsea are fantastic. The issues my 2 yo was having at the other center have improved significantly and these teachers have really partnered with us to help her. But it's also clear they see and care about her as an individual. We couldn't ask for better teachers who understand this tough age and love and care about the kids like their own. She receives quality instruction in a nurturing environment and has even been branching out and trying new foods thanks to their provided lunches! For a little more money than we were paying at our previous center (where only snacks were provided and most were just processed carbs), now she gets breakfast, lunch and snack provided, with a lot of variety and they actually cook stuff on site. We're so glad we returned. It felt like coming back home.

The director and the assistant director resigned to move on in the careers with in a few weeks or each other and subsequently and seemingly with out support from KinderCare corporate Teacher after teacher has been leaving the center and this evening when my wife arrived to pick my son up she was met by people from the state of Maryland telling her that the centers license has been revoked and they are being shut down. For about 4 months now I've had the honor and pleasure of watching my son soak up training at this dojo. The staff here are FANTASTIC with kids. They took my shy kid in one session and had him on the mat and he hasn't looked back since. Adults train here too but every time I come here I see smiles on kids faces! They learn, are encouraged to practice, and belt tests reinforce discipline at home. Payment is simple and stress-free through their online portal, and the app they use makes communication effortless. Getting pictures and videos throughout the day was such a gift...it warmed my heart to see my kids smiling, playing, and learning in real time. They use a key fob system to enter the building and you have to go through multiple check-points, it is very safe. Before finding Learning Tree, we tried other daycare options in Annapolis that felt cold, too strict, and more like a prison for toddlers than a nurturing environment. Learning Tree was the complete opposite - warm, family-oriented, and rooted in decades of experience. The teachers are unmatched, which is why they've been trusted by families for over 30 years. At the end of the day, these are children - they don't need to learn rocket science, they need to feel LOVED, supported and SAFE. I sent my 4 year old son to this establishment for Summer Camp starting in June 2019. He was born…read morein January 2015, so he will not be 5 until next year. Before registering I had a phone conversation with one of the staff members. I specifically asked if they were sure that they accept preschool age children for camp. He reassured me that they have in the past. I explained that my son was in preschool at a center but would start pre-k at a private school in the Fall and was told that was fine. I visited the place twice without my son to obtain paperwork and to drop off the paperwork and immunization records and still was told that all was well. His age and school information was included in writing as requested on their forms. Fast forward to my son starting camp. The first week was fine and he seemed happy. I did not receive any complaints from the staff or my son. A couple of weeks later, my husband picked my son up and the female staff person asked about my son's academic abilities. She seemed surprised that a 4 year old child could not write numbers independently. That was strange to me as I assumed that staff working with children would receive some sort of training on developmentally appropriate activities. I chose not to make too much of the issue. The next week I received complaints about the need to redirect my son from approaching the deep end at the pool during a field trip and again about them taking his play time away because he was not writing his numbers. Any parent or individual properly trained to work with children would know that four year old children often require redirection. They also should be able to recognize numbers and letters but might not be writing independently yet. My son can write letters of the alphabet, his name, count to 100 and more but that was not enough for them. I was appalled at the fact that his play time was used as punishment since play is the most important form of learning for a child at that age. The straw that broke the camel's back was that a staff person called my son "stubborn". My family is not perfect but we definitely are not tolerant of name calling. We do not call our child names and would never allow anyone else to do so. US Martial Arts is not a bad place for elementary age kids but parents of preschoolers beware. I would NOT recommend sending your child under six years old to summer camp at this establishment. Expectations are unrealistic and trust me when I say you will notice a difference in your child. My happy go-lucky boy who has always been rated as above average and is very well liked by teachers was in tears when I reminded him on Sunday that he would go to camp on Monday. Needless to say, I pulled him out and made other arrangements for him to be in a loving environment with folks who understand how to work with children his age. I would have appreciated a denial when I inquired about signing him up for camp if they are inexperienced with his age group. I would have also appreciated feedback daily about his play time being revoked instead of finding out the way I did. When I called to inform them that he would not return, no questions were asked. That is less than ideal customer service since I have already spent almost $1,000 with them. All is well as the happiness of my child is all that matters.
