I have donated, I have had a neighbor who drove the collection truck to groceries and eateries and shops such as Starbucks back in the 90s for excess food to take to their ever growing food bank serving Boulder County. My son did volunteer work there in the late 90s, sorting produce from local groceries so that the best was offered to needy families. The staff he worked with were phenomenal and generous with their time training volunteers. I have contributed to their regular collection drives. This is the time of year that they run their Let's Bag Hunger campaign. You can donate bags of groceries at many grocery stores and they can always use direct money donations too. With Yelp being so food centric, I'd like to see us consider this option. I know I will and hope you do too. Please check their website for specific options.

It was a first time for my daughter and I but they were very nice with giving us a brief tour about both facilities, how they worked, when they expected deliveries, and how people were able come in via appointment or walk in to get clothing (point system) and groceries. Everyone was so nice. It was a great first experience for my daughter for her volunteer service so we definitely would come back to do the grocery side.

Very poorly run facility. Micromanage and condescending. The advocates spent hours upon hours a day locked in the office unaccessible to us, gossiping about us. Very uncomfortable. The theft is what made me leave. I can deal with them talking about me, but don't take from me when they KNOW how little I have to begin with. The child advocate was no better, locking himself (yes! MALE) alone in the basement and refuse to let the parents or even another adult, per the laws, down to observe, even after I voiced my discomfort with my female child who has past sexual abuse. I felt safer with my abuser than I did with them

Our friend Thomas Hails died much too young of AIDS, it is OK you know his name, he has been gone a…read morelong time and his family knows I took care of him. There have been giant holes in our hearts ever since he died. This is one of the reasons we always participate in "Dining Out For Life." The Angels took such good care of him before he passed, oh so many years ago. A simple check on him and the dropping off of food made me feel better when I couldn't be there. He would get a kick out of the idea that the ball-n-chain and I were out eating and drinking beer and toasting his name. "Drink to me" were Pablo Picasso's last words. Thomas was an artist and would have been down with that. There are always people at the event who have envelopes so you can drop off an extra bit of money for the cause. I highly encourage it. If I win the lotto, this is where my money is going.

Donations are able to be dropped off on Wednesdays. There are a lot of high quality name brand items. This is a great way to recycle. Reduce waste and support food security, in Golden. Today I scored two like new brooks brothers wool sweaters for $40 and a stack of paper plates for a dollar! I highly recommend shopping, supporting, donating & volunteering at the CAG. It's also a great place to pick up odds and ends for the kitchen.
