He was very thorough and inspected everything from the sewer lines to the roof. This was an expense well worth every penny, because I have a better idea of anything that needs repair. I contacted Chris at A-Pro to inspect the home I planned to purchase. I made him aware that my family and I were stationed overseas with the Navy and would not see the home prior to closing on it. He told me that he would do a thorough inspection and include lots of pictures since we would not be there. The report seemed good until I took possession of the home. Leaky sink, noticeable mold, running toilets, cracks, broken gate, broken cabinet drawers, etc. just many things that were not included in his report. I contacted Chris on September 6th originally and did not get a reply until September 12th about the kitchen sink. His reply was that the home was occupied during the inspection and under the sink had supplies (so basically he did not inspect for leaks). He did not need eyes to smell the mold or feel the moisture and although he does not inspect for mold the smell is obvious, and so is the damage from the leaky sink. The report was beyond basic. Unfortunately I can NOT recommend A-Pro or Chris for home inspection. Choose a company that stands by their work and is not just out to collect a paycheck. read more

I do not recommend this home inspection for anyone who wants more than a cursory look around the property and photos of nothing important. When I got the report back I was surprised to note that they did not have a photo of a giant crack in the kitchen wall. An obvious indicator of foundation issues. Their response was that the pic didn't turn out well and they would come out and take another photo. Do they not have digital cameras? I also wondered where the hot tub inspection was since I specifically requested it multiple times. They didn't do it but said they would return for the photo of the giant crack in the wall and inspect the hot tub then. They didn't. In the report they said the fireplace could not be inspected because it had ashes in it. I guess getting a bit dusty is not in their job description. After all of this I realized that my personal inspection of the home (which consisted of viewing the home with a realtor) was just as good or better than the A-Pro Home inspection. I have witnessed thorough home inspections in the past, this is not one of them. mike read more

The inspector broke my garage door while inspecting the home. A-Pro refuses to acknowledge the issue or return my calls. Nobody from this company has even talked to me about it or tried to resolve the issue. The company is not reputable or customer oriented. I would never trust them in my home again! read more

Let me start off by saying that my boyfriend and I are in the process of shopping for his first home. We have had to meet many difficult steps along the way, and have heard of many horror stories about home inspectors- both from online bloggers and from close friends and family. We did our homework and found a few promising prospective inspectors. We decided to go with A-pro based on their availability, in additional to their online reviews, and we are so glad that we chose them. They appeared on time with two inspectors, in order to make the home inspection process go as efficient as possible. They explained what they were going to do each step of the way, from the second they entered the home. We pestered them with first time home-buyer questions; like what the exterior was actually composed of, and exactly what combination of materials was our roof, and they answered each one with a smile on their faces. If their pleasant demeanor during the inspection wasn't enough to win us over, the icing on the cake was their willingness to help. As we were running through our on-the-spot review of the inspection, they were giving us tips, tricks, and serious advice on items that we would not have even thought of. My husband and I are so glad we hired Chris De Marco to inspect the home we built! Not only because he was very thorough but thanks to him and catching items that needed attention for sure, we are now moved in to a home we feel really good about with the home's structure, electrical, plumbing, roofing, etc. He provided very detailed reports to us and to our builder right after each inspection for the builder to address issues immediately to avoid delays. I was worried about not being present for the inspection however after taking a look at the inspection report, I soon saw that we had nothing to worry about. Do NOT go with this company!!!! They missed our pre-pour inspection and now we will never be able to have that completed. We are at a complete loss why there was no communication that they just missed it we had to track them down to find out if it was done and then they didn't apologize! Horrible customer service, no communication and worse of all they are bad at their jobs. Christopher De Marco was the person recommended and I regret taking that recommendation but the damage is done and our foundation is poured without an inspection. Hiring a home inspection is a serious consideration, considering the risks of buying a home. However, I have to inform you of my utter dissapointment in our findings after we closed on our home- February 2011. Chris De Marco did the home inspection and spent a lot of time with me answering questions and provided me a detailed report. I felt very confident at the time in moving forward with the purchase of our home. Our biggest concern was the major components on the home we were purchasing- for price negotiation and follow through with the purchase. I specifically inquired about the windows in the home I was purchasing. I was told by Chris that the windows were of custom grade and were in good shape. Maintenance of the window seals were needed, other than that my husband and I felt confident about the windows on the home. After closing on the home we found that several windows leaked water into the home. Any good home inspector would have seen the moisture in between the glass panes and the rust stains on the seals. Talk about pure frustration! My husband and I are looking at a 30,000-40,000 dollar investment in the next 5 years. We have had 3 estimates and 1/2 of our windows have failed (the ones facing the afternoon sun). They are literally $20/windows mass produced by Alenco, a window company that went out of business. Here we have purchased a 10 year old custom home with windows that have have obvious signs of failure (fogged up, water drip, rust stains, wavy weather strip and water stains on the walls). and will need to be replaced within 5 years (1/2 needed now)!!!! Please beware and decide for yourself. read more
