If I could persuade anyone in making a decision in their life , I would say it would have to be to go with Fidelity Inspection. I always google and really try to see who I'm hiring for things. In the beginning not only did I find Fidelity Inspections website , but I found where Michael Street ( my inspector from Fidelity) was on Kens5 helping out new home owners and showing what he does best- Inspecting! So I hired them and got a message saying that Michael would actually be my inspector. The next thing I found was a 1 up for me ( yes I was still looking at them even after hiring) He has a YouTube channel to help homeowners with things to look for, preventatives and tips for your home. I'm a soon to be new homeowner but don't let the age of your house stop you. They do it all. So the day I arrived to my new home they were already there working on it and he addressed every concern , explained to me things I didn't understand and took extra steps to help me out instead of just doing the job and leaving . Michael and his other associate did it all with a smile on their face. They aren't there to just do a job. They are there to actually help the homeowner and be there for the homeowner to not just protect you in the now but to make sure you have something to back you up in the future as well. After my first review which was highly solicited by Micheal, we actually moved into the house and our nightmare began. Let me start of by saying all of this is my personal opinion based on my experience using Fidelity Home Inspection and Micheal Street specifically. Micheals inspection was detailed but left out some very important key facts that have cost us thousands. The old adage that says all that glitters is not gold is my experience with Micheal. I should have known when I first called and asked where the written description was for his 11 month warranty the girl on the phone said "It's all over the website" which it wasn't. Based on his inspection and supposed expertise, I hired 3 specialized plumbers along with electricians and pool inspectors to go through each line item he mentioned was a problem in his report, believing that he left no stone unturned and trusting his 11 month warranty and videos. He failed to mention previous plumbing work done in the kitchen under the sink. When we moved in and started washing dishes and turned on the ice maker the line fed under the floor and started a major leak. The leak caused our house to become unlivable. Our floors became waves of wood. When approached about his inspection he turned into a different person. Saying nothing was under his realm of inspection and supposedly everything was excluded in our contract. He came out and tried to deal with everything over the phone and taking over a week to get back to us in writing. BUYER BEWARE!!! When we requested he make things right by taking care of our deductible, he finally offered a "goodwill"refund of $499 (i paid him over $800) and asked us to sign a Hold Harmless Agreement. In my humble opinion I would use another inspector. From my experience and in my opinion, he sends you tons of texts begging for 5 star reviews and stands by nothing he says. Michael responded without hesitation to a last minute call to complete an evening inspection on a home that I am buying, because I was potentially going out of town right away and it needed to be done. This will be my third home purchase, and never have I received such a high level of professionalism and such curteous and personable interaction from any other home inspector. As we prepare to close on our new construction home it was important to my wife and I that we had a professional Inspector involved in the process. My sister had just used this company and said that Michael Street was awesome. I called the company and we were immediately put on the schedule for service within 3 days. My builder was concerned because most inspectors take a few days to draw up a report and we are schedule to close just 4 days after the day of inspection. This generally does not leave enough time to make the necessary corrections from the report. Michael sent me the report within minutes of completion. He also took the time to go through the major issues with me and explain in detail his concerns and recommendations. The report was very detailed with colored photos. It was very easy for me to just forward the email to my builder so that they could begin working on the items before closing on the house. He was so patient and spent a total of five hours with us! I was surprised when I told him that I had already checked every window in the house to make sure the locks latched and he still went ahead and checked every window.
