Mark arrived to look at the issue promptly. He was able to identify the issue accurately and was honest about the necessary scope of the remediation work. (Other vendors suggest a smaller fix which ,in hindsight, would not have solved our issue in the long run and would require additonal work later on) Throughout the entire process, he constantly communicated the progress of the work and kept us update on the schedule, something that we appreciate since its the first time we have to deal with mold and water issues. Last but not least, Mark and his team take great care in carrying out the work and handling our belongings in the work area. I was never told my built-ins would be completely removed, I only discovered it after the fact. Had I known, I could have arranged for proper removal, but instead they were torn out in a way that left them unsalvageable, costing me thousands to replace. Afterward, the company pointed to the notes fine print rather than acknowledging the lack of communication. If you use them, insist on a clearly explained scope of work. If you rely on professionals to help you navigate confusing home repairs, like myself, these aren't your guys. Update to response: First, I want to be clear that I don't believe Adam or the company ever acted with any intent to mislead me or cause harm. I think this situation came down to a lack of communication that unfortunately left me in a difficult position. About 90% of what Adam said in his response is true, but none of it directly addresses my actual concern. The real issue is whether the company made sure I fully understood the scope of work. Perhaps Adam thought... what idiot would not see it was obvious that the entire built-ins would need to be removed? Hi... it's me, I'm the idiot and truly I had no idea. I thought only a portion of my ceiling would be affected. Given the huge difference between what I understood and what actually happened, I believe the company should have explained this much more clearly. Like many homeowners, I rely on professionals to explain the scope of work in plain terms. I think that's a reasonable expectation. Adam is correct with my quote below but he left out the part where I explained that my issue was solely that I didn't know the built-ins were being removed. This was never clearly communicated to me, nor was I given the opportunity to remove them properly myself. Because of that, I feel my ability to make informed decisions was taken away. I only reached out to Adam directly later, after another contractor told me the closet could have been saved and that the removal was "unnecessarily destructive." Whether that's true or not, I'll never know. because I wasn't given the chance to find out. To clarify, the note about the built-ins wasn't hidden in "fine print," but it was only mentioned once in the "Other Notes" section. It was never discussed verbally, by email, or over the phone, and it wasn't included in the detailed action items. I don't think a single mention buried in a notes section qualifies as meaningful disclosure, especially when no one pointed it out or explained its implications. Perhaps Adam does. Lastly, the other points raised, like the quality of the closet materials, water damage, or insurance support, are not relevant to my concern. My issue has always only been about the lack of clear communication regarding the scope of work. Thank you.

To…read morestart off, I should mention I am not an expert in computers & technology, but at the same time I am not a novice either. I have fixed and modded computer components & have built PC's plenty of times on my own. First time I went here, I went to get my 15" Macbook Pro Retina laptop screen fixed, an easy repair. I went here because I was too busy to do it myself. Sorin (lead repair tech) advised to replace my broken screen with a used screen to reduce the repair cost. I said thats sounds good and proceeded. When I got the repair back, the screen itself was dirty and the metal lid had tape and residue on it. I understand that the replacement part was a used piece, but he couldn't spend 5 minutes wiping it down and making it look presentable? This was a $500+ repair. At the end of the day, it isn't a big deal, but the reason I mention this is because it is relevant for my next experience with him and this business. My $7500 custom build PC that I had built, suddenly no longer could boot up, POST or enter BIOS. Sorin offered a diagnostics test for $80. I agreed as I needed to confirm which of my parts was malfunctioning so that I could process a warranty claim with the brand. On the phone, I had asked him if I should bring manuals - he said no. I bring in my PC and I tell him I will be right back as I left my power cable for the PSU in my car. He admentently says I don't need to bring it in (without even looking at my PC). Okay fine...I'm not going to argue with a "professional". I also asked if he would like to be provided a list of the parts in my PC to help him troubleshoot more efficiently. He said nope, no need. I drive back home. Next day, I get a call from him and he tells me that he did not realize my PSU (Corsair AX1600i) has a different plug and that he requires me to bring in my power cable. Great. Now I have to drive all the way back to the store when this could have been avoided if he took 30 seconds to look at my PSU when I first came in. I get a call from him later and explains the tests he ran. I should note that he said he was not fully able to test my CPU (3970x), GPU (RTX 3090), or motherboard as their shop does not have the parts needed to run a in-depth diagnostics test on higher end computer components. *This is why I originally told him if he would like a components list of my build when I first came in.* Basically I paid $80 dollars for a rudimentary diagnostic test that was not comprehensive at all in my opinion, as the CPU, GPU, and motherboard are the most important components of a computer. Fine, I guess this is the best I can get for an $80 dollar diagnostic test. I promptly ask him to put my PC back together so that I can pick it up. When I arrive at the store, he hands me my PC back and he said was not able to get the front facing fan on the CPU cooler mounted properly onto the heatsink. Um...okay...your business is called "PRO - Technology Professionals", but you can't even mount a basic CPU cooler onto the motherboard? I also noticed when he put back my GPU, he did not plug back in the power cables for it. And he also reseated my memory sticks incorrectly (pic included).He clearly put no effort in putting my PC back together. Do you not take pride in your work? Completely sloppy. This kind of leaves a sour taste in my mouth, but again, not a big deal to me, so I bring it back home. When I get back home to inspect my PC closer, I noticed the reason he could not mount the front facing fan on the CPU cooler is because it was the incorrect fan. My CPU cooler (be QUIET! DARK ROCK PRO TR4) has 2 fans that need to be mounted onto its heatsink. I don't understand how he could have messed this up because the two fans are both different sizes and only one of them fits on the inside. Instead, it's clear he forcefully jammed the other fan into it as it is basically impossible for it slide it in otherwise. It is astonishing he did not try to look for the manual online, or bother to call me to confirm how to correctly put the CPU cooler back to together. This was not a AIO or custom loop liquid cooling system... This was a simple cooler with two fans. The only way I could pull out the fan was to break the rubber gasket on the heatsinks - thereby damaging both my fan and heatsink. I call him and address my complaints and was ultimately met with an attitude. He tells me I need to bring my computer back to the store so that he can remove the fan. I refuse as I am not going drive a third time back and told him there is no way to remove the fan without damaging the cooler. I am normally a easy to work with guy and I am usually empathic to certain situations. I didn't even ask for a full refund and was compensated a $20 dollar refund. That doesn't even begin to cover my $90 CPU cooler. To have my $7500+ dollar PC disrespected like this is completely unacceptable. Avoid this place.

At first, when our retail store received a lot of smoke damage, we were anxious that our insurance adjuster will not provide us enough money to recover our loss. Our landlord recommended us to go to a public adjuster A. Schoenemoan & Company. We weren't even sure if we should trust a public adjuster, but we decided to give a little trust to our landlord. While they were helping us adjust our insurance, they gave us more benefits than our initial insurance adjuster. They helped us in every aspect of loss of income such as monthly income, merchandise, technology, and other valuables. Not only did they help us in the income loss, but they also helped with the construction process. All we needed to do is give them the right information, and A. Schoenemoan & Company will do the rest of the work. Having a personal assistant taking care of your insurance problems helps tremendously. Because of them, we had an easier time managing a disastrous moment, and gained more than what we initially would have gotten from our insurance adjuster. Dear Schoeneman Family, I know I have told you in person many times, but I want to put into writing my gratitude for all that you have done for me. The fire and soot damage that my house sustained last year were massive. Being new to Chicago, I had no idea what to do or where to turn. I will never forget that Ron left a Father's Day brunch downtown to come and help me in my time of need. When our house was destroyed by fire, just getting food, clothing, and shelter for my family were all I cared about. If I could give Ron & Mitch 10 stars, I would. Truly an amazing, well-structured company that over-promised AND over-delivered. I had a terrible flood in my house in Northbrook and was referred to Ron and Mitch by a close friend. At the time, I was in a state of shock and panicking. I've never dealt with flood damage before and lost 70% of my belongings. A. Schoeneman & Co. rushed over and calmed me and my wife down in a way that I didn't think was possible. They handled all of my insurance claims and got me an amazing value for all my belongings. Every contractor they sent out was incredible experienced and completed their jobs 3-4 days before the promised completion date (truly amazing when dealing with construction). Mitch was there to supervise every sub-contractor and stayed until 8 PM when needed. In 3 months - I nearly had a new house! I am shocked at the 1-star review given previously to mine. I tell him I'm going to pass and he made it sound like I was silly for not taking his offer. I pick up rug a week later, check out my bill and see I'm charged for $144. I call and ask how and to break down the price. Everything that was quoted to me was wrong. I even called a second time after appointment to get quote and it was the same price. Set expectations with your customers, double the quote is not the business model you should be going for.

When Shoreland owner Steve Tuchman called after his company had inspect my roof, he noted that I had obviously replaced the roof not too long ago, which I confirmed. Steve advised me that the original work was no doubt still under warranty, and that if Shoreland did the repair work, the original roofing company might use that as an excuse to invalidate the overfall warranty. Steve voluntarily passed up a roofing job just to protect me from any potential future warranty issues that could arise with my original installer. With such honesty displayed, there is no doubt that I would use Shoreland for future roofing work.
