If anyone is looking for a place to attend driver's ed (or knows someone that is) I wanted to share my recent interaction with the owner of a local driving school in Sharon: I withdrew my son from Sharon Driving School before classes even began due to a very concerning and confusing interaction (see attached email chain). They sent an email about the online parent class and said to let them know if we wanted to attend. The parent class was scheduled at the exact same time parents were expected to drop their children off in person, so I emailed and asked if it could be moved slightly later so parents would have time to get home and log on. I did not receive a response, so l emailed again and attempted to call multiple times, but the calls would not go through. I later realized their original email appeared to be a no-reply address, which I didn't realize since their email only said to let them know if we wanted to attend, so I just hit reply. I went online to find a different email address for them and then finally received a response. They said I could attend the Zoom parent class late, so it started fine. But when I gave them the heads up about their email address not accepting replies, their reply back felt hostile, by them using several exclamation marks. And at one point I was told they "do not have time to play a guessing game" about who my son was - which made no sense, as I had clearly identified myself and my question was about moving the parent class later, not anything about my son individually. Then they unexpectedly offered to cancel my registration and refund me, which left me confused; but given the interaction, I accepted. The entire experience felt concerning, defensive, confusing and unprofessional. When I later looked at reviews online, I saw this is a pattern with Sharon Driving School. I am ashamed I didn't do my due diligence before signing my son up. Hopefully this review will help you in determining whether Sharon Driving School is the right choice for you. read more

honestly this is one of the most pathetic and disgusting groups of people/business i have ever encountered. the ENTIRE staff was incredibly rude some of them even VAPING while my son was in the car. Many of my sons lessons were cancelled on 8 hour notice and i had to pick up and drop off at the school for lessons, meanwhile every other driving school in massachusetts picks the student up and brings them home for lessons. please do yourself a favor and never give these filthy crooks another dime. read more

The owner is incredibly rude and unprofessional, and this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. They did not show up at the scheduled class time and made absolutely no effort to notify us--no phone call, no message, nothing. When we called to ask for an explanation, the owner spoke disrespectfully, refused to listen, interrupted constantly, and then abruptly hung up the phone. Any attempt to explain or have a normal conversation was immediately cut off. This place shows zero respect for customers' time and money. UPDATE *SHE IS WITHHOLDING OUR SONS LICENSE FOR POSTING AN HONEST REVIEW* THIS IS BLACKMAILING. Avoid at ALLL costs! The reviews speak for themselves. This place is very mismanaged and to top it off the owner is rude. My younger brother was sent home by the instructor at one of his first lessons and told to come back "when he learned to control the car". Isn't that your job as the instructor? We complained and got assigned a new instructor, who periodically came 15 min late and cut the session 15 min short. For $65 an hour, this is THEFT of our money. We paid for a full driving package and 5 additional lessons. After our horrible experience with the driving package, we no longer wanted to continue with the 5 additional lessons. We had prepaid for them and the school refused to give us a refund. We told them we'd leave a bad review and she threatened to sue us for cyber bullying. This woman is unhinged. very rood owner! my daughter got sick and did not want to cough at her instructor( who is by the way a very nice guy). she called in the the morning( she woke up sick), and told that she is coughing and does not want her instructor to get sick, and that she wants to move her lesson to another day. The owner almost yelled at her and said that she can reschedule but she will not return the money. than I called and told that she could just simply not say that she is sick, take a pill and sit close to instructor and get him sick but she honestly called asking for moving her lesson. the owner was very(!) rood to me too, we will never use their service again. read more

I got my license here recently and they made the process really easy for me to get my license. Scheduling lessons were easy and they were always on time. One of the instructors Jim had always corrected me and guided me through tasks i needed to learn. Overall there are no negatives about this school i would recommend it. read more

Required the services only for the actual road test. I was required to wait 1.5 hours after my scheduled time, in the cold. The staff is short, rude and incapable of effectively communicating with the students. I won't get into the semantics of "checking blind spots"... but marking "did not signal" on a 50 ft backup is outrageous and comical without any explanation from the staff. If you choose to do a road test through them be prepared to arrive to the location with half a dozen other students were also provided no information. Compared to other schools, they also did not give any attempts to restart the parallel parking nor define what was classified as a restart for the three-point turn. Lessons on Cape Cod - I asked for a copy of the yellow card, which is proof of lessons done. Gilli promised she would send it every day for 3 days and then got aggressive after the third day saying it was Labor Day weekend. She wanted payment in cash for lessons, was on the phone the entire time talking about a restraining order, was very rude and abrupt. I dreaded every driving hour i had with this school. I was yelled at for not knowing how to start the car's ignition (i am accustomed to just pushing the button), belittled for every mistake i made, and awkwardly sat in the car as my instructor yelled at the kids in the backseat for doing nothing. One particular instructor chastised a student we picked up because his driveway was complicated-- what do you want him to do about that??? He even made fun of Jewish people as they were walking to their synagogues during my driving hour. I cant make this up! Unprofessional isn't even the word. Run. The woman who answers the phone is very rude and unprofessional. She has no customer service nor people skills. It's a total nightmare every time I call. (Keep in mind, I am a student who paid and booked for classes) I had legitimate questions regarding the classes and road test that the website didn't cover. She had an attitude for every question I had. She didn't even answer my questions directly. Every time I called, it felt like she didn't want to speak to me and tried to get me off the phone. At times, she didn't let me finish the conversation. She hangs up. She says she's in the middle of something every time. Scheduling was also a nightmare. I had paid and booked a "brush up class" and "road test" on the website 2 weeks in advance. The day before the scheduled road rest, the rude woman calls me up and threatens that if I didn't change the "brush up class" to a different day, she would not have enough time to teach me everything that is offerred with the "brush up". As a paid customer, I felt concerned if I was gonna actually end up with this person during the classes and road test. I was also angered at the fact that I was so nice and professional but didn't receive the same treatment. We waited this AM for two hours and she did not show up for a scheduled driving test, keeping three other families waiting. She threatened to put a hold on my son's permit claiming that HE had not showed up. She used an abusive epithet to describe my son. She yelled and screamed and threatened to call the police on us if he showed for the test the next day, which is when SHE says it is scheduled. This is clearly illegal. We will be taking her to small claims court for the fees that she refuses to refund due to her own error. Ok, there are many negative reviews here. This is a positive one because overall, my daughter had a very positive experience at this driving school. The instructors are excellent and they taught her how to drive and how to be safe on the road. That is the goal. The owner Gilli has gotten a bad wrap here on Yelp. She's not that bad folks. She got my daughter in for a road test very quickly during this Covid pandemic. She runs a tight ship and gets stuff done. As a physician, I wanted a school that would teach my daughter how to be safe on the road. I found that in the instruction at Sharon Driving School. If you want your child to learn how to drive safely and how to pay attention to the road and all surroundings then this is your school. Don't let scheduling challenges or personalities documented here dissuade you. I have cared for enough accident victims to know that I wanted a safe school with excellent teachers to help my child learn how to drive. My daughter's favorite instructors here are Donna, Francine, a kind man with short black hair she never got the name of, and Gilli herself. If I could give less than one star, I would. Gilly is one of the rudest people I have ever had to deal with as a customer. If told everyone I know not to work with her, and if she wants to keep her business running, I recommend not having so much attitude. The price is already astonishingly high, especially for it being in a rotting, disgusting, building with mediocre (at best) instructors that love to cancel driving hours right before they're scheduled to happen, and classes comprising of only video documentaries. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a business. The customer service in the office is horrific. I was continually spoken to in a rude manner. The woman in the office has absolutely no patience when you call. She disregards what you say or questions you have. She always sounds like she is busy doing something and your call has interrupted her. I would actually try to be extra kind on the phone, so that she would not get upset with me. The last two weeks of trying to set up my son's last driving lesson and driving test, I started to communicate via email, so I wouldn't have to call. Although I could tell by her email responses she wasn't happy, at least I wasn't yelled at on the phone. There were many times my son was in one town for a lesson and the instructor was in another town. Even though I booked the lesson in Sharon. It was very annoying. Because I had already paid, I could not switch schools. I could go on and on about my horrible experience when trying to book driving lessons online or over the phone. It was beyond stressful. NEGATIVE STARS If I could give negative stars I would. I called to inquire about the conflicting prices for lessons that are listed. I was greeted with such hostility and rudeness it kind of threw me off. I said to the woman who answered the phone I just wanted to clarify why the prices were different when you go to register. She immediately caught an attitude and hung on me. I proceeded to call back to ask for the manager and the same woman answered. I asked for her name and she hung up on me a second time. I called back a third time and asked to speak with the manger and she said "There is no manager!" and hung up. I feel this should be reported to the Better business Bureau. I have never in my life been treated so horribly by a business. After reading all of the negative feedback, feel like I may have dodged a bullet. We had a terrible experience with Sharon Driving School and yes, just like everyone else said, the owner was unnecessarily rude and VERY hard to deal with. This school has a rule that you can only sign up for 4 driving lessons at a time (so you can't plan far ahead to get off work easily or get a "regular" schedule). When I called to ask for more options, the owner called me back and said we should take the open 2 PM appointment - when I told her my kid was still in school at 2 PM, she yelled at me. Actual yelling - I was stunned. I ONLY WISH I had read the reviews before booking an appointment for my daughter to take her drivers test. I found the owner, yes the owner, to be very rude and unprofessional when I called to speak to the her about some of the language that was spoken while my daughter was taking her test. My daughter had a "practice test drive", before her drivers test, which went well. She then had her test. While she was driving the sponsor and the instructor were complaining, rather loudly to each other, how early they had to get up and how awful the weather was. The woman who was the sponsor proceeded to say, I'm glad I speak Russian so I can swear at the students and they will never know." How awful is this. How is a student supposed to feel confident taking their driving test when the instructor and sponsor act like this. Intimidating, unprofessional, and DOWN RIGHT RUDE!
