Nothing says…read morecustomer service like going out of your way to make it right for your customers and Henry did just that. We went back today and the food was delicious. This time my husband got the Granada which was recommended to us by Henry and I got my usual Legendary. Both sandwiches were packed with meat/ chicken and on top of that they both came out hot and ready to devour. The bread was succulent and a good amount of mayo and ketchup was added. All in all this is the experience we had been wanting to have and I'm so glad we went back. Thank you to Henry, again, for going out of his way to make us feel welcomed and well attended. He was happy to have us back and we felt very appreciated as customers. Can't wait to come back and try other sandwiches!

It was a must try. Got two sandwiches Legendary chopped cheese, pack with meats and really flavorful and good! It's a big sandwich and they make their rolls in house. Italian godfather was the second sandwich and I felt that it was missing something, it wasn't pack with flavor much. I just added some banana peppers and it helped. Also a big sandwich. Staff really friendly and they cook and assemble in front of you. Parking can be a little tricky here because it shares a lot with other businesses. The chop cheese is a must try and I will be coming back for their chicken and waffles

Vida Pura is a Latina-owned plant based cafe located in the heart of East LA. It was formerly a…read morevegan food truck and eventually became the current brick-and-mortar cafe. [Parking]: Free small public parking lot directly across from the shop. [Amenities]: This is a really small coffee shop with no indoor tables and only two small outdoor tables. No restroom is available. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are the Breakfast Burrito, Teddy Bear (double espresso, agave, housemade vanilla cold foam, Teddy Grahams), and Banana Nut. All drinks are made with oat milk. Please note that the kitchen closes at 1 PM on Monday - Tuesday and 2 PM on Wednesday- Sunday even though the cafe remains open for another 1 - 2 hours. Come early for anyone wanting to try kitchen items like breakfast burrito or breakfast sandwich. *** Banana nut (double espresso, house made vanilla cold foam, house made banana syrup - medium $7.50): It came with two banana chips. The cold foam was quite underrated and I could taste a hint of banana flavor. The drink wasn't as sweet as I had expected - I liked it. Breakfast burrito (Refried beans, soyrizo, tofu scramble, crispy hashbrowns and sliced avocado wrapped in a flour tortilla - $13.50): Portion wasn't huge, but it also wasn't small enough to finish in one sitting. It had one of the softest texture for breakfast burritos. The soyrizo was very flavorful. It also came with a side of salsa - quite spicy but flavorful at the same time. *** I probably still prefer meat-based breakfast burritos, but their soyrizo breakfast burrito is quite good and the coffee drink is excellent (4.5-star for both items). I would definitely recommend this small coffee shop for a quick grab-and-go.

The shop was relatively quiet when I arrived, so I was surprised that my order was made incorrectly. I ordered a large iced matcha latte and a small cinnamon roll matcha, but when I received my drinks, both appeared to be the wrong size and flavor. Considering I had just placed the order only minutes earlier, I expected greater attention to detail and order accuracy. To add to my disappointment, the avocado toast I intended to order was not an option, it seemed like a missed opportunity from a business standpoint, as food items (especially that one in particular) typically increase overall sales and enhance the customer experience. Combined with the incorrect drink order, it left me feeling frustrated with my visit. Extremely annoyed*** The drinks were also quite expensive, totaling approximately $16 for just the two beverages. At that price point, I expected a smoother customer experience. One thing that stood out was that drinks were simply called out by name without any confirmation of the order, which may contribute to mix-ups and customers receiving the wrong items!!! Overall, my first impression did not live up to the expectations created by the online hype. I hope improvements can be made to inventory management, order accuracy, and quality control so future customers have a better experience.

It wasn't unusual for me to get a few sandwiches on a weekly basis way back when. I am very happy that Cook's Tortas is still around. I have tried every sandwich on their board. My favorite has always been the Bombero #6. It is grilled tender steak with a red pepper sauce and avocados. The bread is a sourdough Ciabatta style roll which is made fresh daily. One side comes with the sandwich. This time I chose the Ham and Cheese Macaroni Salad. For dessert, I always get Great Grandmother's Corn Cake. Everything tasted very fresh. There was ample beef in the sandwich. The corn cake was not too sweet and the guava jelly on top enhanced the cake well. A pineapple-orange aqua fresca was a good, refreshing beverage accompaniment. Service was very friendly and exemplary. The food was prepared quickly and brought out to me. Prices are much higher now than before; more than doubled so this would be considered a special treat for me if I am in the area.

Pillowy soft and toasted bread with thick cuts of lengua, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, and mustard nestled inside. The flavors are phenomenal! It also comes with a side and I always choose the Ham and Cheese Macaroni! I'm not kidding when I say I can eat the Ham and Cheese macaroni every single day and sometimes I order just a large bowl of it! I love that you can also upgrade the size of the sides to a bigger bowl. The sandwiches can be pricey, but honestly so worth it because of how big the portions are. Customer service is always top tier! The staff are always so kind and will answer any questions you have. Huge perk that you can also call in ahead of time to place your order and they offer curbside pick up. If you want to dine in, simply order at the cashier and they'll call you when your food is ready. Lots of seating inside and very clean. Free parking lot available too. Cook's Tortas will always have my heart and I will continue to recommend it to everyone I know!

I remember really liking it, but for some reason we hadn't been back in a while. This week my husband couldn't stop talking about wanting an Italian sub, and Frumento's immediately came to mind. The purple cabbage was so good, the coleslaw wasn't my personal favorite but my husband loved it, the four bean salad was absolutely mouthwatering, and the marinated mushrooms were also delicious. I'm genuinely so glad we have leftovers for tomorrow because I'll definitely be thinking about that bean salad again. We'll absolutely be back!

You can make any of their sandwiches into a combo plate for $3 more you get 2 sides (Mombo Meal). Their sides were good but not amazing, personally will be sticking to just their sandwiches. JALAPENO STACK -sooo good! Roast beef, turkey breast and Italian dry salami paired well together. Avocado added perfect creaminess. Their Cheesy Jalapeno Snack Bread is amazing, top had just the right amount of crisp from being toasted. FRUMENTO'S GRILLED PHILLY -opted for half roast beef and half smoked turkey breast and it was just what I needed. Solid hot sandwich. TASTE OF ITALY -a classic cold cut sandwich, it was good but their hot sandwiches were much better. Desserts were a hit or miss here. Tried the Strawberry Cheese cake and that was really good- creamy, airy and not too sweet. Tiramisu was a bust- mainly vanilla cake, bit too sweet, no espresso flavor, cream didn't have any mascarpone cheese flavor at all.
