16 oz. Milk Tea with Boba
Julie M.

This was my first visit to Quickly, even though I have passed by here so many times! I went in the evening (maybe 30 minutes before closing), and no one else was in there. This is a tiny shop, and I was actually hoping to get a minced pork rice bowl. But I found out that they mostly serve drinks, with a few snack menu items. They don't serve rice bowls, so I ordered the Popcorn Chicken and Rice ($7.99). I took it to go (there is no indoor dining). It was okay, and I was so hungry, I ate the whole thing. Because I went so close to closing, it was not freshly cooked, but I did enjoy it. I also ordered a 16 oz. Milk Tea with Boba. I completely forgot to request 50 percent sweetness. It was way too sweet for me. Even though it was my fault for not adjusting the sweetness, I did knock off points for this. But I'm thinking that even if it was not as sweet, it would not rate as high as other milk teas that I have enjoyed. The Milk Tea was $4.00 plus 50 cents for the boba, but I noticed that they offer 2 drinks for $6.00, which is a good deal. Service was friendly, interior ambience was nice, and there is a parking lot behind the shop.

Some good old popcorn chicken. They don't add the basil leaf anymore :(

Reminds me of the middle days where we went to quickly's and get some boba tea and popcorn chicken. It was my first time visiting this location and service was extremely slow. We were the 2nd group of people waiting for our drinks and I was about to order the popcorn chicken but they confirmed that they don't use basil leaves so I opted not to get it. We walked around the block for about 20 mins before we got our drinks. Cheap prices, meh service and there is free parking.

Went here today to cool off just cause the weather outside is frightful lol. I ordered the Taro Slush w/ Boba and it was delicious. I used to come here almost all the time with my friends when I was doing my studies here in East Los Angels College. But now, I rarely come here. I just missed the taste of the taro slush here because it's different from any other boba tea places. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone by Monterey Park or ELAC to swing by and give this place a try. But of course, don't forget to try their delicious and Hot Popcorn Chicken... always the best here. The service here is great, quick and efficient. The staff here are always sweet and welcoming to their customers and very happy. Thanks to Quickly in MPK!

Came here after classes during a hot day, and it's safe to say that I'll be returning to this spot every once in a while! It is located in between a really lowkey spot behind the campus. The worker at the front was very helpful with what variations of drink they have. I ended up going for a blended taro smoothie with boba, very delicious. The boba's texture was fresh and the drink was REALLY refreshing to have outside. The taro tasted very nutty and sweet like milk. Definitely ordering it again.

If you're looking for something nostalgic, come to Quickly. They're cheap and not bad. There's a parking structure in rear but if you're able to find parking right behind even better for a shorter walk. They charge 50 cents for card transactions. Popcorn chicken- wasn't bad but it felt like it was missing some texture. Crunch was there but no chew or crisp. We asked for mild spicy and it was flavorful enough. There were more larger pieces (about the size of a McDonalds nugget) than smaller pieces. Milk tea- as nostalgic as it gets! Something about Quickly's milk tea that you can't get anywhere else. I forgot to adjust sweetness and it was just fine. I usually prefer half sweet as most boba shops drinks are extremely sweet nowadays. Can't tell you anything about their boba as I opted for no toppings.

This Quickly is a hidden gem! I haven't been to a Quickly that's worth noting in the last 10+ years. But I stumbled on this one because I was craving popcorn chicken, and wow I was surprisingly blown away. Their popcorn chicken is better than most other more expensive places in San Gabriel valley. It's big, juicy, crispy, and always fried on the spot. Their drinks are pretty good for the price. 2 for $6 for 16oz cups for most drinks on their menu. Give it a try if you're in the area!

I've been coming to this Quickly since I was a kid and it's still the same owner. Located next to ELAC, across the McDonald's it's very convenient for college students. I only get the Green Tea with Egg Pudding and it tastes great! This place is undergoing construction inside the establishment so there are no inside tables. Besides, this Quickly is pretty small so there is not much wiggle room. Prices are about $5 - $7 in lieu of your cup sizes. Overall: Quick place to get your boba fix. Basic, nothing too fancy.

Drink is kinda watered down, probably give 2 stars; Popcorn chicken is 4 stars, flavor is good besides its little dry. Front lady is really nice, 5 stars.

Love this off college campus, quick stop eats. Friendly service, small, quaint and fun music vibes. Enjoy the cream chick sauce! Yum

A pit stop for my favorite boba at the Quicklys in Monterey Park. I had to get my honeydew and taro boba #SummerVibes #June2024

Out of all the quicklys I have tried I love this location because the honeydew milk tea boba I ordered is perfect , the other locations I have been to it taste very different. And the management team is very nice, and also it's very clean it might be small it's a nice place to take a break after school. They also have great deals, I know every quicklys is different, although I would recommend this location trust me you will love it .

Second time coming here and will be back. Cute location with plenty of parking in the plaza. Great choices on the menu of drinks. I go with Taro and Thai tea personally and they always come out great and fast. Thanks!

We waited in line about 5 minutes which gave me time to check out their main menu and a cute customer favorites menu. J ordered a large cold brew. The April is good, the espresso is very present but not overwhelming and I knew what to expect. The cold brew could be stronger but it tastes good.

I also like that they heat everything in a toaster oven instead of a microwave. The coffee is consistently good, and I'll definitely keep coming back. Worth checking out if you're in the area.

The coffee was well-made - it wasn't burnt, overly bitter, or sour, so the extraction seemed solid. However, the flavor felt flat and watered down. It lacked the aroma, body, and rich roasted notes that make a cup memorable. Nothing really stood out, leaving it tasting more diluted than satisfying. Also, I don't think the barista could froth the coffee well. Instead of a nice velvety, dense froth, the froth was a bubbly foam (see photo). Food - 3/5. I visited around 9 a.m., but the pastry selection was surprisingly limited (see photo). The pastries also didn't taste particularly fresh; they had more of the texture and flavor you'd expect from pastries sitting out later in the day rather than freshly baked items you'd hope to find early in the morning. The café has a modern, hip vibe and a warm, inviting atmosphere. It's spacious, with plenty of seating, making it a pleasant place to spend some time. Overall, Smoking Tiger Coffee Lab is a fine neighborhood café if you're looking for a comfortable place to sit and enjoy a coffee. Unfortunately, neither the coffee nor the food left much of an impression. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing really stood out either. While the ambiance is probably its strongest point, the coffee is just average.

The owners are always welcoming, friendly, and genuinely make every customer feel at home. Their customer service is exceptional and one of the main reasons my family and I keep coming back. The food is amazing! Their chicharrón burrito is the best I've had, and the chilaquiles are always fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Their coffee is just as impressive--they roast their own beans, make their own café de olla syrup, and you can even buy their coffee beans to enjoy at home. Every cup tastes fresh, rich, and authentic. I also love the atmosphere. The artwork throughout the shop is beautiful and gives the space so much personality. It's the kind of place where you want to sit, relax, and enjoy your coffee. Another thing I appreciate is that their prices are more affordable than many other coffee shops, especially considering the quality of the food, coffee, and service. My kids absolutely love coming here, and it's become one of our favorite family spots. If you're in Boyle Heights and looking for incredible coffee, delicious food, beautiful local art, fair prices, and some of the kindest people you'll ever meet, Picaresca is a must-visit. I can't recommend them enough!

I do recommend trying it if its your first time and want something not so heavy. I like the chilaquiles, its better when you add a fried egg. Soo yummy, savory, and flavorful! As for the coffee, if you like a pick me up... and a coffee that isn't sweet but strong. I suggest a refresher drink (tonics). The coffee is sugary and you unfortunately cant taste some of the coffee. If that's your preference, we'll i recommend. Besides that, the environment is lovely and art they have. [Parking]: Free small public parking lot directly across from the shop. [Amenities]: This is a really small coffee shop with no indoor tables and only two small outdoor tables. No restroom is available. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are the Breakfast Burrito, Teddy Bear (double espresso, agave, housemade vanilla cold foam, Teddy Grahams), and Banana Nut. All drinks are made with oat milk. Please note that the kitchen closes at 1 PM on Monday - Tuesday and 2 PM on Wednesday- Sunday even though the cafe remains open for another 1 - 2 hours. Come early for anyone wanting to try kitchen items like breakfast burrito or breakfast sandwich. *** Banana nut (double espresso, house made vanilla cold foam, house made banana syrup - medium $7.50): It came with two banana chips. The cold foam was quite underrated and I could taste a hint of banana flavor. The drink wasn't as sweet as I had expected - I liked it. Breakfast burrito (Refried beans, soyrizo, tofu scramble, crispy hashbrowns and sliced avocado wrapped in a flour tortilla - $13.50): Portion wasn't huge, but it also wasn't small enough to finish in one sitting. It had one of the softest texture for breakfast burritos. The soyrizo was very flavorful. It also came with a side of salsa - quite spicy but flavorful at the same time. *** I probably still prefer meat-based breakfast burritos, but their soyrizo breakfast burrito is quite good and the coffee drink is excellent (4.5-star for both items). I would definitely recommend this small coffee shop for a quick grab-and-go.
