I would give Vicky and Ari 10 s if possible. This is my second time coming in for a pedicure. Pedicure at an MD office? YES! Cleaner and sanitary setting. So much more than a pedicure at a nail salon. I am not a fan of pedicures but Ari changed that with her patience and gentle touch. She took her time and talked me through the process so that those little tugs or pulls would not take me by surprise. Vicky was very patient and gentle as well. Came in on 02/20/2025 I took my dad in for a medical pedicure. What is a medical pedicure you ask? It's like a regular pedicure but they don't cut cuticles and focus more on the health and hygiene of the feet. Their office is on the 3rd floor of the building. Waiting area is open to where the elevator doors are so try not to be too loud getting off the elevator. lol Everyone looked up at me when I was guiding my dad out. It was fine but the unexpected stares startled me out for a second. lol He had an appointment at 9:15am and had no wait when we arrived. They led us back to a room that was about the same size and look of a dr. office room. We walked in and got my dad seated in the massage chair. This was a very much needed and long over due pedicure. My dad is 81 yrs young and I've taken him to get regular pedicures at salons prior to this session but they hurt him so we stopped going. Hard growth grew underneath his toenails so it was hard for me to cut his nails myself and I didn't want to accidentally cut into it and cause an infection or something. This place saved the day! Not only did they get all the growth out but they were able to file down and cut all his toenails down short. They were practically claws when we came in. My dad said it hurt a little but it was expected with everything going on and nothing like how it hurt at the salon. The technician also gave me recommendations on how to keep his toes clean and healthy. 10/10. Definitely a great experience and will bring my dad back here periodically. No more salons! Highly recommend especially for elderly people. The staff is great too. I look forward to our next visit. read more

Up front pricing and detailed explanations of what and why they would treat my feet in the way they recommended. Do not go to this place: I hurt my ankle over a year ago. They provided terrible medical advice "stay off of it completely for 6 weeks and then get surgery". I went to an orthopedic surgeon and he recommended PT, and adamantly against surgery- and after three months of PT I was back in action. But not only was the medical advice poor, I received a bill today, over a year after being at this place. I had originally gone in to discuss the bill and was told it was handled and I had nothing pending on my account. I asked for a call back and never received one. I have heard nothing from them since May. When I called to discuss their only response is that their billing department changed last summer. Never go here. read more

I have had a mixed experience with my last foot doctor and decided to take the advice of a customer that was discussing the doctor down the street from my work as they ranted and raved about the foot doctor I was lucky enough to grab a canceled appointment . Well I had a great experience from my first interaction. I walked up to check in with receptionist as I was taking care of the payment for the office visit. The gal at the front desk was very helpful and explained the process and how the deductible was taken care of the overage was explained by the front desk person and she continued on to state that they would issue a check if the insurance covers the payment will be reimbursed. I realized at that time that the majority of the doctors staff were and are my customers at the vons grocery store up the street. The physician assistant/ xray technician I also knew as customers. And she was very nice and helpful . NOW the doctor was absolutely incredible she had an amazing soft touch with blinders to stop the patient from seeing needles. She wanted me to compare her injection to the last foot doctor. Well since I flew in the air and this new doctor was so good she gave me two shots and I had no pain while she finished and felt very little pain if any. After looking over the X-rays and the other doctors report Dr Khalwam found d the problem that has been obvious and began treating my pain and then will fix the other problems that I have on my over worked feet. She was amazing and is gonna take the screws out in the next few days I give the dr Khalwam and her amazing staff a 10 out of 10 read more

Dr. Khawam is awesome! I had thought I was walking on a nail and had plantar fasciitis so went to get some of the great orthotics her wonderful staff will mold you for. She said that something wasn't right and ordered an mri which showed that my Achilles tendon was about to snap! I've had to have several different surgeries from work and sports and this was the most unique of all! Dr. Khawam's advice and her staff's help was priceless and I returned to work 3 weeks ago but just got my last circulation enhancement treatment today and in 6 months can walk better now than I did before I was injure! Dr. Kahwam is wonderful! I called for an appointment and thought it would be weeks before I could get in with my son. I was so surprised when they offered a next day appointment. The front office called me the morning of and explained an estimate for the visit after running my insurance. I was very grateful for that extra step. When we arrived it was a short 5 minute wait and we were taken to an exam room. The nurse explained what the procedure could entail and set up the area. Shortly after, dr. Kahwam came in and examined my son. She came up with a detailed plan and I authorized the procedure. Everything was completed that day. This is the 3rd podiatrist I've seen after food surgery. I've had many doctors try to quickly access and diagnose me. None of the diagnosis's were the same and it became frustrating and took a toll on my mental health. Dr. Marjorie was super sweet, patient, attentive, and listened to all my concerns and timeline. I wish all doctors were like Dr. Khawam, for years now I've had frustrating painful plantar warts that wouldn't go away no matter what I tried (apple cider vinegar, duct tape, Salicylic acid, Dr. Scholls, etc) . After a few treatments with the swift machine my warts wouldn't budge, but Dr. Khawam refused give up. So she had me in every 2-3 weeks for aggressive treatments. Took a few tries with the swift machine but eventually my foot finally started to attack the warts and after many years I can finally say my foot is wart free. I'm still in disbelief. 10/10 recommend Dr. Khawam. She and her staff are the best hands down and they won't give up on you. read more

Honestly I cannot say enough about my experience at A Step Above. My toddler daughter developed athletes foot which, in a normal circumstance, would not be that big of a deal. However, during Covid, not being able to get into my pediatrician and noticing her itching her feet made me feel absolutely awful. I knew what she had but since she is so young I was hesitant to put OTC creams on her feet and did not want her to continue to be uncomfortable while we waited for the pediatrician. Dr Lisonbee was incredible. Not only did he make me feel like there was no need to panic, his professionalism and confidence immediately put at ease my mom-guilt. His recommendation for a medication that was safe for her to accidentally injest was above and beyond what I hoped for, since she still puts her feet in her mouth. He explained how to wash and care for her feet, what to put on them, and how to clean everything I used! I genuinely cannot express how much I appreciate the medical care and the lack of shaming I received here, my daughter has had stinky feet for months so we already wash them as part of her bedtime routine, but with our new guidance the smell is finally gone and she is beyond thrilled that we will kiss her feet again (toddlers are so strange). I called the office to check if they accept my insurance carrier and pricing to see a doctor and toenail fungus laser removal. Each time I called I was given a different price. My first call I was told $175. My second call I was told with my insurance it would be $105. Then when I arrived at the office I was told $150. Looks like they make up rates especially if you're a cash customer. This bothered me so I chose not to receive services here. read more

For the past year I have been suffering from toe fungus. I have tried every home remedy to get rid of it and none of it worked. It was embarrassing and painful. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Marjorie Miller-Khawam. I made an appt. immediately and the whole experience was great. She is amazing! I went in and didn't even have to wait. She assessed my nails and suggested I do a laser treatment. She was very informative and kind. Also, this can be pretty embarrassing but she and her staff were so comforting and assured me this would do the trick... and it did!! It has been about two months since my laser treatment and my fungus is completely grown out and gone with one treatment... sometimes it can take up to 6 months from what I see on the internet. I wish I had gone to her sooner. I can finally wear flip-flops without being embarrassed and no more pain! If you are experiencing the same thing and have been using home remedies I would suggest to skip all of that. It is a waste of time and ineffective. Plus, fungus can grown back unless you treat it properly. read more
