I would not recommend using this service if you are looking to do business with a company that is transparent. Called and received quote from Ayman one of the owners who unsolicitedly raved about having a 2020 Mercedes Limo purchased before Covid...I asked if it was available on the requested day, he said yes, and provided quote of $490. However, when I called the very next day to book the quote increased and Ayman said I misunderstood and offered me a 300 Chrysler stretch limo for $490 because it was last minute, I went ahead and accepted. The day before my booking I received an email offer from them for free "upgrade" Mercedes Benz Sprinter which was definitely not an upgrade. The limo was old, seats were peeling and it was dirty...It was embarrassing to see the reaction on the faces of my guests as they entered the limo. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I call and talk to someone named Gail in the afternoon ~2:30 about booking a bus for a corporate event. She gave me a quote, and when I asked about pricing, she said she would send a note to corporate and follow back up. I asked when they close and she said after 5. When I didn't hear back around 4:30, I called back and spoke with someone named Latoya. Gave the same information, and she said she would talk to corporate again and they would call me back before 5. Again, around 5:03, when I got no phone calls, I called back and talked to Latoya again. She said she would directly call them vs. sending them emails/ message and call me back again. Closer to 6 pm now, I got no call backs, so I call again and get a 3rd person who then proceeds to tell me that Latoya is on the phone, apparently managers are also "tied up on the phone", and that the bus isn't available to begin with. This is extremely, beyond unacceptable way to treat a customer. Not only do you fail to follow up with a customer after telling them MULTIPLE TIMES THAT YOU WOULD, you waste an entire afternoon for the customer. When my flight was cancelled at the Charlotte airport I found this service when looking for a way to get to Mrytle Beach since their were no additional available flights. I was quoted $450 dollars for the trip over the phone. The driver they sent was 20 mins late, and had been driving for over 15 hours already. His driving was all over the place and far from safe, my traveling partners and I were very uneasy the entire time. In addition to the terrible driving and being late, when the charge showed up on my credit card it was $550, $100 over charged. When I called in about all they (Aymon) said was that it was for "taxes, fees, and tip" I can assure you I would not tip a driver that nearly got me in a car wreck, let alone that much! They refused to reduce the charge to what I was quoted, and gave me terrible service and a terrible product. Do not use this company. Just stay at the airport or find someone else. read more

Avoid this company! Very poor communication, especially as concerns pricing information. Kept changing the specifics on the day of our event ( a celebration of life). Inquired about some last minute change possibilities and was told it would be no problem to modify contract, to just let them know. We made a reservation for prom, and we got several confirmation emails saying the reservation is all set. However, on the night of the prom, no one showed up to pick us up. NO LIMO, NO DRIVER!!! Then I called the company to ask what's going on. The owner and staff members are extremely rude on the phone and refused to admit their faults. They didn't even try to solve the issue. The only thing they did is blaming the customers. They said they sent a cancellation email to me, which is obviously not true and I never got the email. So when I asked them to forward that "not existing" email to me, they refused to do so. Don't use them unless you're ready to ruin your special occasion. read more

We have emails and recorded phone calls stating they made a mistake and to this day, almost a year later, we have been getting the run around. I also have contracts with the balance due! I called again yesterday and Latoya stayed she thought this was taken care of she said she would speak to Ayman and return my call. No phone call. I called Ayman and he stated he had no idea what I was talking about. I stated this has been going on for almost a year with phone calls and emails and we have been getting the shaft. He said he would call back in an hour, well guess what? - no phone call! I am on hold as I write this review. I'm sure my caller ID is showing and they are avoiding my calls! They claim they are professional, yet they don't care about a contract! They can't communicate within their company and they are cheating their customers. We got a stretch Chrysler 300 limo for our anniversary. We made the reservation kind of last minute because our other limo plans had fallen though (grrrr). The driver called ahead to confirm the pickup address and arrived about 15 minutes early as he said he would. We were happy that the car came on time, but the driver would not meet us at our door. Instead, we had to walk to a nearby parking lot to meet him. I was not so happy about that, but we brushed off any bad feelings at this point. We did get good service being dropped off right at the front door of our next 2 stops which was very nice. However, when leaving our final stop and calling the driver to pick us up, he said that we would have to walk 1 block (in a city I'm not very familiar with) to meet him because allegedly the traffic was too heavy. What? Here's the thing... the traffic on the street was very light. Maybe 1 or 2 cars passing by every minute. Not a busy street at all. And even if it was, why couldn't the driver circle the block until there was an opportunity to stop and pick us up? That's what I expected and the pickup service was just not what I expected. The car was very nice inside and we enjoyed the ride, but I am rating at only 3 stars because I was displeased with the driver's mannerism and skill. read more

Do not under any circumstances book "A Step Above Limousine Service". I traveled out of town for business and booked a town car to pick me up from the Airport and drive me home at 5:30 pm on 08/04/2017. I live an hour and a 1/2 from the airport and I made that perfectly clear when requesting a quote for their car service. I received a quote in the amount of $96.00 from "A Step Above Limousine Service". I then called them to book the reservation on 08/03/2017. I spoke with a woman and she stated that I would receive an additional email confirm my booking. I even called the day of my scheduled pickup on 08/04/2017 at 6:30 in the morning just to confirm my reservation and to get clarification where to meet the driver. I never received the booking confirmation email and began to worry. As soon at I got off of my flight at 4:47pm I called them again. This time I spoke with another woman than I had spoken with in the morning. Explained that I had not yet received any additional email confirmation from them. She placed me on hold and then came back to inform me that I would receive the confirmation email that I hadn't gotten earlier. I did receive the booking email however, the area where normally my price would be stated was empty. This concerned me because on my Quote I received previously, again it stated that the cost for my travel would be $96.00. The driver arrived for pick up st 5:15 pm at the airport on 08/04/17 and stated that he needed to get a credit card on file for my reservation. I was confused because I had spoken with two women who were no doubt in charge of booking and reservations, yet not one of them stated that a credit card was needed to confirm the reservation. There is absolutely no excuse or explanation as to why I wasn't informed of this. Though a little irritated at this point, I told him that providing him with a credit card wouldn't be an issue. The driver then went on to state that the price of driving me from the airport to my home would cost $260.00. I immediately stopped him and showed him the quote I received by email from their service. He stopped walking to the town car and stated that he was going to call the owner so that I could speak with him directly. At this point I'm tired, I'm beyond irritated and ready to go home but I maintained professionalism while speaking with the owner. He then expressed that there was no way that I received a quote for only $96.00 for an hour and a 1/2 ride from the airport to my home. He then stated that he would not be able to honor the price and that they charge $65.00 an hour. I explained that my home was only an hour and a 1/2 away from the airport and that $260 still didn't add up? The owner then stated that he would allow the driver to take me home for $200.00. I immediately turned down his offer and made it clear that his company was ran poorly and that I should not have had to find all of this out the day after my booking their services. I ended up having to rent a vehicle which at first had been more expensive than the town car booking, by the end of my conversation with the owner of "A Step Above Limousine Service" the car rental ended up being cheaper than $260.00 This company has poor customer service and lacks integrity. I will NEVER consider doing business with them in the future and would encourage others to do the same. Take your money elsewhere! The only reason I gave them any stars is because the driver seem sincerely sorry about what transpired & I appreciated his kindness. read more

This is a followup to my previous post. A Step Above did a wonderful job getting my mother in law, (her grandchildren call her Mom Mom and she is really my Mom), home from the airport. Moe the driver, treated her as if a family member. She has trouble walking distances, has very poor eyesight and gets confused easily. She came out to visit us in Ca for the holidays and upon return Moe was there to meet her at the baggage area. Upon request, A Step Above made sure Moe took her to the airport and therefore he was able to find her upon return vs her having to look for a sign with her name, which she couldn't see anyway. Moe found her bag and "gently with care" got her home to Kannapolis. I had A Step Above, through Moe, tip the wheelchair skycap so Mom Mom did not have to worry about tipping and they simply added it to my bill. Moe texted me immediately when they arrived home with, "I got our Mom home safely". He even helped get her and her bag in the house. Moe is now an official, "member of the family!" We will now always use Moe to get our precious cargo to and from the airport. I think the other poor review had to do with communication. You know, you get results equal to what you are willing to put into it. I emailed A Step Above with my expectations including Mom Mom's itinerary and a picture of her bag and it went off without a hitch. I arranged for an SUV months in advance for round trip to Charlotte Douglas airport. The driver picked us up on time in the SUB that was reserved for our trip to the airport. The driver was driving a little erratic at times but we made it safely there to begin our flight to Miami for a cruise. My credit card was charged per my reservation. The problem started with our return trip a week later. First of all the driver was late picking us up at the airport and I had to make a call to find out where our driver was. Next problem was the driver arrived in a minivan and we reserved an SUV. The driver provided no explanation as to why we were being picked up in a vehicle other than what we requested. The driver immediately began putting our luggage in the back of the van and even on the seats. One of the people traveling with me was literally sitting beside luggage. We reserved an SUV because 2 of the people traveling had mobility issues and an SUV would have made it easier for them to get in and out of the vehicle. One of the women was scheduled to have hip replacement surgery on our return. We managed to return home safely to encounter yet another problem when I checked out my credit card statement. A Step Above Limo charged me $30 more than my quote for our return trip. I called several times trying to first of all find out why we were picked up in a minivan instead of an SUV and why was I charged extra. I was told that I was given the wrong quote with my original reservation. NOT my problem. I was given a couple of different reasons why I didn't have an SUV. First I was told that the SUV was involved in an accident and Step Above had to rent a minivan to pick us up. Next I was told that it was prom night and they needed the SUV's for people going to the prom. Even though I reserved the SUV months in advance. I spent a couple weeks on the phone and A Step Above Limo only refunded me the money they over charged me. No one ever apologized. Needless to say I will never use this company again. Their service doesn't reflect their name. I use a Limo service each year to take us to the airport but I will go back to the limo service that has been reliable in the past. read more

First of all, the owner, Aymon, ex wife, Hannah A., left a good review about him as a five star feedback. Clearly in this situation the company does not deserve a five star rating, it deserves a one star. I have used the company a couple of times and every time the driver was late and I was promised money back and a free trip, but I was charged even more than what I was quoted. When I asked to get my money back I was told I had to speak to the manager and he was not there at the moment and I tried a couple more times to reach him and I got no response. The town cars are old and out dated and the A/C was not working in both trips I took in the car. I was told this was taxes and gratuity. I contacted them and all they said was you were told this and I most Definetly was not! They will rip you off. This service is absolutely TERRIBLE!! I booked them for my sister's bridal shower two months in advance. I booked the 55 passenger bus and even went to see it. It was very nice therefore, I was pleased. I had talked over my arraignments a few times with the staff and everything was set for my date and venue. Two days before the event, they cancelled my reservations. When I called, the owner told me that I had been given the wrong rate for the bus. I stated that that was not my problem. He stated that the staff member had been fired for doing so. Again I told him that that was not my problem. I told him that I had 27 people who were riding the bus and were depending on the transportation. He said I could not have the bus but he would give me a 13 passenger bus. I asked him how would I fit 27 people on a 13 passenger bus. He said that was the best he could do. He then stated that I could call around for another limo service. I told him I had already done that when I decided on them 2 months ago. He simple said he could not help me. I asked him how could he cancel my reservations 2 days before the event. He again told me to call around for another company. He then told me the bus had been booked for a band anyway. I then caught on to what the issue was. I was paying for a drop off and pick up. I assumed this band was renting for the day or night which was more money that my trip so they simply cancelled my reservation with no thought. When I told him my suspensions, he then claimed the band had a contract. Believe me when I say, this band came from out of nowhere. The owner was not apologetic and showed no signs of caring. After reading other reviews, I see that I was not the only one that this had happened to. For those who are getting great service, I'm sure it comes with a price. This is one of the most unprofessional places I have ever dealt with. I mean, what company sends you a email cancelling your services, no even a phone call. It was a good thing that I checked by email or me, my sister and her guest would have looked foolish waiting on a bus that would not have arrived. Its a darn shame that A STEP ABOVE treats their customers this way. They are not a STEP ABOVE, THEY ARE A STEP DOWNWARD WHICH IS WHERE THEY ARE HEADING!!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. DO NOT EVER USE THIS This "Car Service". I ordered a car to take my girlfriend from out of town to the airport in the morning.. and they blatantly just did NOT SHOW. When this car was ordered, they seemed to be scatterbrained as well. After they called her once to say when they would be there, she called them again and ... REPEATEDLY and they did not pick up their phone and then did not show AT ALL. When I learned of this, I called to get answers and I simply got an 'I'm sorry.. I will talk to my manager". Upon DEMANDING that my my money was returned-DONT WORRY I WAS CHARGED.. He said "Oh of course of course"....cue crickets and then me saying "DO YOU EVEN WANT MY NAME OR THE NAME OF THE PERSON YOU WERE PICKING UP?????!!" His response was he knew what he was talking about, WHICH THEREFORE means he was aware of said pickup that never happened. I did not get asked if there was any further service they could do to make up for the fact that they just didn't DO THEIR JOB either. I suggest this business learn exactly the service it provides because I will make sure I, or anyone I know NEVER use this company. Booked them for my son's prom at least a month in advance. Three days before the prom I contacted them to confirm everything was all set and was told it was. One day before the prom I receive an email out of the blue saying my reservation has been cancelled. I immediately called and asked why and was told that they had triple booked the party bus (which was supposed to transport 20 people) and that he was sorry, but he had no other vehicles to give me. I was obviously upset because it was impossible to get any other transportation lined up last minute on the biggest prom day of the year, and he said he'd see what he could do and would call me back in a few minutes. But he never called me back at all. I finally emailed him a few hours later and he just said sorry and that he wouldn't charge anything to my card. I can't believe not only the lack of professionalism and organization and how you could triple book the same vehicle to three different parties, but also that I received an email confirmation of cancellation without even the courtesy of a phone call from anyone first to let me know about the situation in advance of the cancellation, his total lack of concern for our problem that he caused and the 24 hour notice of cancellation, and his not calling me back at all after said he would.
