We used A Tamam Construction and Noam was a pleasure to do business with. We had them come in to remodel the shower to make it more ADA accessible. We replaced the entire floor tiles and had them replace 2 different toilets. Our inquiry was last minute and also required a quick turn-around time. Not only did they accept the project, they completed it in the quick time-frame we requested. The shower turned out beautifully and they went above and beyond working with us and putting up with us (we were new to remodeling). They gave us professional opinions that helped guide us in what we wanted and needed for our specific type of remodel. We are so grateful to have worked with them. We hired Atamam to remodel our bathroom. The quality of their work is acceptable but it took much longer than what we were quoted. The price was very expensive as well. What was very off putting was the way they collect payments. They were very aggressive in payment collection. Particularly, on the work that they contract to third party - There were some work that the third party did not finish yet but A Tamam would try to collect their milestone payments. We had to be very firm with A Tamam about paying only after the milestone was completed. All in all, this project could have gone smoothly if A Tamam did not make a mistake in ordering the materials. read more

We got four quotes for installing pavers in our front and backyard. A Tamam Construction was not the most expensive or the cheapest but they were the most competent. Every other person that gave us a quote hemmed and hawed about what we wanted to do but Eitay is incredibly capable and knew how to achieve just want we wanted--this was the first home improvement job where we didn't feel like we needed to babysit the entire project. Eitay lead us through the project from beginning to end, held our hands with ideation and designs, accompanied us to choose pavers, and regularly checked in to ask us how we thought the installation was going. Poor communication and follow through. After giving them multiple opportunities follow up, they were over 1 month tardy to even provide me the quote. Given the nature of scheduling the work, and the efficiency that requires, I would not feel comfortable allowing them to work on my home. As a PS to other consumers, if your job is under $5,000 they do not allow it, mine was a $15,000 - $20,000 job (that I had to convince them of its worth/expense to even be approved for an approval, go figure asking someone to let you spend $15,000). They quoted $39,400, nearly double all other competing quotes that were given in a timely manner. Moral of this, if you don't have at least a $40,000 job, expect to beg for the quote, and then wait over a month to receive it. read more

This was like an experience from the twilight zone. Called and made an appointment. The guy didn't show so I called and was told he had had an accident. Well could've let me know but that's ok, life happens. He showed up the next day and started telling me about how good the company is. All good stuff but when I told him that in addition to my home remodel and addition, I was doing my pool and backyard and had a contractor for the pool, he went into this half-hour monologue of why I should fire the contractor and give them the whole project. Came by several times after that to show his foreman the job. A couple of times the foreman came by on his own even though they were supposed to come together. The guy himself showed up an hour later and when I told him about the foreman he seemed surprised and apologized. All this without an estimate. This was 2 months ago. Haven't heard back from him ever since. Called, emailed but nothing, Nada, no news. He has disappeared... I am genuinely worried for him!!!! read more

Many red flags about this company which resulted in 1 star. Prefer to give 0 stars! - poor internal communication between scheduler and estimator - Tai showed up 3 hours earlier than requested. Inconvenient timing right in the middle of my work meeting and without all parties available to provide design ideas to estimator. "Oh, I'll have a word with my coordinator who screwed up." Is that how you talk about your colleagues? " I won't be able to come back at the time you wanted" No very customer centric. - higher than mighty attitude - Tai has the worst attitude - he has to be right and constantly correcting plan for my backyard with something I don't want. Isn't this MY backyard? It's not rocket science or engineering a skyscraper. Every design element I mentioned, he flippantly say on repeat "oh that's easy". - hi- pressure sale to get a $5000+ 3D design - it's 3D design or no design; no 2D design offered so they would just "wing it" when laying out the concrete design. He may have been a used car salesman before this job. - no accountability - showed up early on Wednesday for estimate and promised quote by Sunday. It's the following Wednesday; a week late and no response. Not even to let me know the estimate will be late. "We have over 154 employees' mouths to feed. We are a large company." mean they will bloat the estimate. When asked what is the price range for concrete, he immediately defends and says "don't listen to what the coordinator might have quoted you over the phone because it's not correct." I didn't ask the coordinator, I was asking Tai. It's obvious he and the coordinator doesn't get along and want to hi-ball the quote. It's obvious he is paid on a commission % of the estimate. "There's a reason why we have 4 1/2 stars on Yelp." It's not because this company is that good. We all know Yelp reviews are paid off by the business; only positive reviews show up and the negative reviews hidden. (Let's see if this review even shows up.) Thanks for making it so obvious and transparent you only care about money and not the customer. My project is not small crumbs. Would NOT recommend. You've been warned! read more

Caution Ladies...get a second estimate before using this company. I was looking to replace my countertops with quartz and add a subway tile back splash in my small galley kitchen. The person who answered my call was very polite (which is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1). ALAN K. Came out to measure and give an estimate. Her took two measurements and wrote some noted. Quoted me $14,600 which he said included the labor, countertops, backsplash and new drywall. (Why would I need new drywall when I didn't have existing backsplash). He asked me did the quote sound reasonable. I asked for a written copy of the quote and told him I would need to get back to him. He said he doesn't give copies of estimates so he wrote the numbers on his business card. He then said he would take off 10%. I told him I don't make like to make decisions like this without getting additional estimates. He continued to try to pressure me into committing right then and there which made me feel uncomfortable and was beginning to make me mad. I decided to go the Romarts in San Leandro. I'm glad I did. I was able to select the quartz and tile I wanted. The employees were amazing. The quality of work was excellent. They even finished on time. And I saved $8400. Everyone I talked to was very nice. I'm sure they do a great job but I think they only want big jobs. I had a simple job replacing a slider with a window and the window with a slider, both same width so framing was ready to go, and they quoted me $50k. That's obviously a "we don't want the job" kinda price and I honestly wish they would have just said that instead. We had a very steep hill in our backyard and needed it to be more functional. We met with Alon and a designer to get the initial design. We wanted flat tiers in our backyard, instead of a steep hill. The design came out great, so we proceeded with A. Tamam to complete the project. Alon met with us to go over the plan. It did take a little longer than expected, but the workers did all of the digging, removing of dirt, and laying of rocks by hand. Alon was responsive and when something came up we worked through it. They laid new irrigation, put in new lighting, made functional stairs, put in new plants, and DG (decomposed granite) to make it a nice, clean, and functional look. They also surprised us with treats throughout the process, which was very kind. We would recommend A. Tamam for your outdoor projects. read more

This review is based on the experience getting quotes with them. We didn't actually engage them on the project. Whoever answers their phone is wonderful, very smooth conversation and appt setup. We had one person (project manager) come over to look at our remodel needs. He reviewed everything and said he'd prepare an estimate. He also suggested we visit their showroom to see their materials and samples so we could see the high quality. Fast forward a week, there is no quote. Their office followed up to say that the project manager was no longer employed there and so they sent another one. We had to reexplain everything to this person, and then he whipped up a quote rather quickly which was an outrageously high number, 2x our highest bid, and asked how we wanted to pay the advance - by cash, check or cc! We were a bit flabbergasted by not only the quote, but also the bold assumption that we were going to sign up for it! Another week later, their office followed up yet again to say that even this project manager was no longer employed by their company and that we could call to reschedule another appt. At that point we were pretty much uncomfortable with the company and the high employee turnover. We decided not to pursue any further. So why the 2 stars? Courteous front office staff, and the first project manager seemed reasonably competent. Glad to see strong reviews here of the company's project implementation, sadly they did not inspire enough confidence in us to want to engage further. read more

I am honored and thrilled to write this review. I met Yani my contractor just a few weeks ago and had my home completion yesterday. I have been wanting to do some home improvements but honestly a little intimated by the whole idea of this and worried as a single parent, I'd be taken advantage of. I can honestly say that I feel blessed to get that phone call to schedule an appointment to just talk about what I wanted done. Yani arrived on time and made me feel at ease from the very beginning. He looked at my house and got to know my style and we throughly discussed my budget. I wanted my shower bathtub redone, my kitchen cabinets redone, new counter tops, new carpet in the bedrooms and pull out carpet in the living room and refinish my hardwood floors. Each set of workers that came were kind and professional. I always knew when they were coming and the work that was done was exceptional! My hardwood floors are gorgeous!
