I only write this review so that it can help others considering Dr. Beaumont. I was a patient for…read moreroughly four months, having come to seek help with my anxiety issues (as this was listed as one of her specialities). As stated by others, Dr. Beaumont is a nice person and scheduling appointments was always easy. However, I left after four months because I recognized that I had made no progress in working to alleviate my issues. During several sessions, I mentioned various scenarios that induce anxiety and asked for actionable tips on what I can do to work to improve. Somehow Dr. Beaumont would either go off on a tangent regarding something actually irrelevant in her personal life, or try to guess (yes, guess) why I felt the way I stated in certain situations. The guesses were solely based on my appearance and what she'd learned about me up to that point. I can honestly say that the primary advice I received regarding my social anxiety was the following: Try asking people about themselves when starting a conversation, but avoid talking about politics and religion. Try complimenting people on what they're wearing and strike up a conversation from there. This is VERY common advice that I could have found in innumerable articles online instead of spending hundreds of dollars in therapy. Also, she suggested after only a few sessions that I consider anxiety medication, which is actually just antidepressants. She touted the potential benefits and a red flag went off for me at that point because she didn't even try to help me get to the root of my issues. It was a band-aid approach. Overall, I was very dissatisfied because I did not have a quality therapy experience with Dr. Beaumont. I would urge anyone who is looking for help with anxiety issues to seek assistance elsewhere. When I first went to Bernadette, I was grieving over the recent loss of a dearly loved family pet, and was a mess both emotionally and physically. I had a lower back pain for about 9 months previously and I was suffering from bouts of unexplained vomiting. This was just a few of my problems. During the first session and many others, I felt sensations occurring that I couldn't understand. It felt like she was pulling years of pain out of my body, it was amazing what was happening and I knew that this was the beginning of something much bigger than I could understand, healing my body both physically and emotionally. After the third visit, I woke up the next day and braced myself to get out of bed, as I had for the past 9 months, in a way that would cause me as little pain as possible. I would usually YELP (no pun intended every time I'd go from a laying down to standing up position). This particular morning, I was amazed to find that when I stood up the pain that had been there for 9 months was completely gone!! The pain remained gone. I continued to go to Bernadette to deal with my anxiety, and years of emotional issues that I had suppressed. I was in very bad shape physically and I knew that if I didn't get my body healed, I would end up with a chronic disease that could not be cured. I looked forward to each session, because every time I would feel better and better. I referred dozens of people to Bernadette, many of them have reported back having phenomenal results, and others who only went once for curiosity but who weren't really committed to the process, maybe because they didn't understand how it worked. (Their loss, truly!) I could write for hours about my experiences and other loved ones who have experienced significant healing during their sessions with Bernadette but Yelp has a word limit for their reviews. I recommend that you give her a few chances to help you with your issues and see for your self. She isn't a miracle worker. She isn't God. But she has a gift from God that I can't explain any better than I already have. She is extremely intelligent, talented, very intuitive and she is a healer of Mind, Body and Spirit. If I could give everyone the gift of what she has been able to do for me and my loved ones, I would gift her to everyone!! But I am all about reviews and if you are reading this, I know you are too, so I will hesitantly share how awesome Dr. Petrina Jackson is! While I have no issues with my previous chiropractor and acupuncturist, my mobility has changed, and to shorten my commute, I have been looking for a chiropractor and acupuncturist that is closer to home, since they are in the city. This office opened about a month ago and I finally went yesterday. Dr. Petrina is down-to-earth and made me feel very comfortable from the get-go. I forgot that this was my first visit! We were talking and laughing as if we have known each other for years! She is very thorough and while she was taking her notes, she kept asking, "is there anything else you want to share," and not in a very professional-client type of way. It was an easy flowing conversation and whenever I did remember something else, I would mention it to her, and she would take her notes, then she would ask questions and end with "is there anything else..." The whole time I was there, we went through this process, and by the end of my treatment, I believe she now has every detail of my health history and journey. The reason I didn't post this after my appointment is that Dr. Petrina worked on my biggest trouble areas and though it will take some time to get me back on track, I felt so good afterward. I have not felt like this in so long, that by the time I arrived home, all I wanted to do was relax. Not only is Dr. Petrina a chiropractor, but she does acupuncture, cupping, and we went over my diet plan. And I had all of this done for my 1st visit. Truly a one-stop-shop! This review is for Jessica Ceska, who's been the absolute best therapist I've had in the years I've been going to therapy on and off, and I want to sing her praises. The only reason I stopped going to her is because I now live in the city and the weekly drive to Naperville has become less convenient as my work schedule here in the city has gotten busier.
