I had stopped by here almost two years ago when I was shopping around for a car tint (I decided to go somewhere else because I didn't want to go with llumar) but I remember having a good experience here because Corey (the owner - the person that I had talked to the first time around, and again this time around) didn't do any hard sell. I asked him questions, he answered them and gave me prices which I thought were reasonable. Like I said, this time around I wanted a basic security system with no fancy features like paging or a remote with a fancy screen. Corey showed me three different systems with similar features but different brands (Avital and Viper, both under the DEI company; and Prestige). I decided to go with the Prestige brand because this was the second most affordable system (by only $10) but it had, what in my opinion, the coolest looking remote. Corey told me that it would take about 1.5 hours for the install but I wasn't too worried about that because I don't live too far from here. I told him to just give me a call when the car's done and I'd come pick it up. The actual time it took until I received the phone call was 2.5 hours which was an hour longer than expected. However, like I mentioned, I wasn't concerned about it since I was chilling at home binging on Frasier anyway. Once Corey called me to tell me that my car was ready, I went back to pick it up. After I had paid for the system, Corey walked outside to my car with me and showed me the basic features of the system that had just been installed. However, since it was a pretty basic system, there wasn't really anything much to show. I'm probably just going to go through the manual to see if there's any additional features that the system offers. Anyway, I recommend this place if you need a security system. It's true what others had said, they don't have a million different products in the store, but what they do offer, Corey will stand behind those products. Also, prices are competitive. At the very least, drop in to see what they have to offer since Corey won't push you for a sale anyway. What do you have to lose?

I was happy about that because my front door was not secure and I was about to go out of town for an extended period of time. The lockset on my narrow stile door is not a garden variety lock and has many variations and nuances. The locksmith was puzzled from the get-go and when I offered some advice, he welcomed my input. I am technically capable and had worked on the lockset before. Regrettably, he did not follow my guidance on how to complete one of the tasks in the reassembly process and as a consequence, one tiny screw could not be installed. The holes were slightly misaligned. So he just left it out. The lock worked and was safe, but the cover plate would bind on the jam. To his credit, he told me about it and gave me the screw. After he left, I disassembled the lock to the point of being able to make the adjustments necessary so that the screw could be installed and then reassembled everything. The main plus was that he came out right away and brought the replacement lock components that I could not obtain locally and got my lock functional within hours. Had I been able to buy the part myself I would have done the work myself. I'm pleased with everything, even considering that I had to redo some of it. I think it is unreasonable to expect any particular locksmith to know the nuances of every possible lock, especially unusual / exotic ones, so I'm OK with it and will call Howard again if I find myself in a bind.
