I needed a very basic car alarm/remote entry system for a 20-yr old car that I had recently bought so I decided to swing by Ultimate Protection and Sound to see what they had to offer. I had stopped by here almost two years ago when I was shopping around for a car tint (I decided to go somewhere else because I didn't want to go with llumar) but I remember having a good experience here because Corey (the owner - the person that I had talked to the first time around, and again this time around) didn't do any hard sell. I asked him questions, he answered them and gave me prices which I thought were reasonable. Like I said, this time around I wanted a basic security system with no fancy features like paging or a remote with a fancy screen. Corey showed me three different systems with similar features but different brands (Avital and Viper, both under the DEI company; and Prestige). I decided to go with the Prestige brand because this was the second most affordable system (by only $10) but it had, what in my opinion, the coolest looking remote. Corey told me that it would take about 1.5 hours for the install but I wasn't too worried about that because I don't live too far from here. I told him to just give me a call when the car's done and I'd come pick it up. The actual time it took until I received the phone call was 2.5 hours which was an hour longer than expected. However, like I mentioned, I wasn't concerned about it since I was chilling at home binging on Frasier anyway. Once Corey called me to tell me that my car was ready, I went back to pick it up. After I had paid for the system, Corey walked outside to my car with me and showed me the basic features of the system that had just been installed. However, since it was a pretty basic system, there wasn't really anything much to show. I'm probably just going to go through the manual to see if there's any additional features that the system offers. Anyway, I recommend this place if you need a security system. It's true what others had said, they don't have a million different products in the store, but what they do offer, Corey will stand behind those products. Also, prices are competitive. I have a 2021 Chevy Silverado and they are currently among the most stolen vehicles in the US. I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth my remote start alarm installation experience was here. Lee is extremely efficient and responsive via text messaging on their appointment system. After dropping the vehicle off, they completed the install about 2 hours instead of the 3 hours that it usually takes. This is not because the shop was not busy but because of the proficiency of the technicians. My tech Earl demonstrated how to use my new alarm system and was very thorough and patient. This another a long line of car related reviews but currently my new truck is my baby! I had to protect my baby by getting a bed liner installed. I called the dealership from which I purchased the truck and and they quoted me a little over $500. I called these guys and got a much better quote! They actually do most of the spray in bed liners for the dealers anyways, so it's just like cutting out the middle man. While he was doing my bedliner saw that I did not have my front windows tinted, so I went ahead and got those done too. Both items were top quality with life time warranties. read more

Basic like the one in my old truck. Lock, unlock, make a noise if someone tries to steal it. Took about an hour to install. Coast me about $130. Like before - and how I put it in my initial review: He gave me several choices of alarms for the price range I had in mind. There was no hard sell, no pressure. "Here's what I got. I stand behind any of them. Let me know." I do like that they will customize the door unlock for you. I wanted it to just unlock the driver door with the first click of the button. I don't need people getting in my passenger side at the store. I did have to go back and have them adjust the sensitivity. Big trucks and thunder was setting it off! Took about 5 minutes. They have bed liners and covers and wheels and stereos nd other truck accessories. Once I get a little extra cash I am going back in for a few more bells and whistles on my new truck. I paid almost $1500 for a stereo installation and window tinting. As you can see in the pictures, the tint job speaks for itself. I get these marks everytime I put my window up and down. When I asked him about it his response was, "we can clean it, but I don't what to tell you. It's like when you put a shirt on." I bought the radio he suggested . He then replaced the same stereo twice because it never got XM radio reception and struggled with regular radio stations. I contacted XM radio and they said that this happens all the time with cheap radios. I asked him from the very beginning to reinstall my factory stereo back that it wasn't worth the hassle. He insisted that maybe it was just two bad units. Finally, he said he would switch it out with a different brand stereo. We agreed he would call me when the different stereo was in. More than a month went by and I never heard back from him. He only contacted me six weeks later when I disputed the charges with my credit card company. I have the texts to prove it. Don't be fooled by the reviews. Enter at your own risk. Edit: in response to the owner's reply... Interesting how quickly you respond to a public review when it took over six weeks to get back to me about something you promised to do. I also find it interesting you suddenly have all this info about working on older trucks. Sounds like something you should have told me when I asked you about it instead of using it as an excuse now. Lastly, I like how you sound very reasonable about the last time we spoke when you actually yelled at me and called me a liar. I had my Running boards installed with these guys. I explained to the owner that I came to you guys based on reviews and I want you guys to install it right. Both of them were installed wrong with off balance. You can clearly see and say they did worst job. I went back and asked this guy to fix it and reminded my previous conversation with him about detail. He was very defensive and rude. Now he told me he never installed these and have no experience. Had them install an auxiliary jack in my 06 infiniti fx35 a while back and it worked great. Recently, the battery had to be unhooked and my auxiliary stopped working entirely. I took it in back to them since they installed it and waited for a while so they could fix the issue. They found out that all you had to do was press a couple buttons and the system would reset but this was after they took my dash apart and scuffed the crap out of my dash while doing so. I asked the owner about it and he just played it off as it being an old car and the rubber dash getting soft. I think it's pretty ridiculous that they for one wouldn't have been able to figure out the reset before tearing my dash apart and for two not giving a crap about making my dash look horrible now. There's a pretty big chunk actually missing, it's not just a scratch. Buyer beware if you want to keep your car looking like a new one. read more

Terrible tint job and several hours waiting for such a basic installation. I had to go back 4 times (about 60 miles driven combined) so they could installed the tint correctly. The guy doing the installation has no skills so please be aware to check your tint before leaving because he leaves bubbles in it. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. I came here due to the yelp reviews but i will never come back. Very bad customer service. Did great work on tinting my vehicle. Didn't plan to spend 4 hours there, but they did have to remove the old tint from the rear window. I have had 6 vehicles tinted here and never been disappointed. This place is awesome! I have a Prius Prime which has a curved back window, which is difficult to do. Took them almost 4 hours but they wanted to make sure everything is good. I felt bad for them to take extra people to work on my car and caused some delay to some other customs. I would've have paid a little more than we agreed on earlier because of their hard work and time but the owner was very friendly and curtious and didn't ask for extra money. I'll definitely recommend anyone who wants to get their car window tinted, and if I want to tint my windshield in the future I'll'll definitely go back to them! read more

I brought my car in two weeks ago and I am SUPER happy about the work that was done. I got all 4 of my windows tinted by these guys. I ended up going with the middle tint number that they had on the chart. It took them 45 min to complete the Job. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about what there doing. Prices are good for what your looking for. I took it somewhere off of Westheimer and they were trying to charge me $150 more for the same thing. I would recommend this place to anyone HANDS DOWN. I would recommend Ultimate Protection and Sound to others. I'm not a big review poster but I will for places who deserve it! Wanted a Viper alarm for my 2001 Suburban, did research for about 4 weeks. Found one I liked and contacted multiple places for misc info such as price, labor, if they install "customer brought" units, etc.. Being a Auto Technician I was back and forth between attempting the install myself or bringing it to the "pros". Long story short, I purchased a unit and brought it to Ultimate P&S (honestly I should've just purchased it from them because at the end of the day I paid the same price), they gladly installed the unit for me. Only took about 2 hours. Once it was done the owner took me outside, showed me the in and outs of the alarm and it's functions. They were very informative, answered questions I had with detail (unlike others who will usually say "it just don't work that way"), and very friendly. I would definitely do business with UP&S again! We own a Toyota Rav 4 2006 and it came with a Prestige 2 way alarm when we bought it from the original owner. This alarm has been giving us trouble for quite some time. I did not know where to have this look up to fix any issues with it. I was referred to a place near the Toyota dealer a couple of days ago. I was not quite sure about the reputation of this place and the price I was given so, I looked online to find reviews on the two possible alarm choices I had based on my budget. No more than $300.00 I found that the price for the Viper I was leaning towards was way too high so, I started looking online for other Car alarm stores and found (in Yelp) "Ultimate Protection and Sound" and two other stores. All three of them with good reviews. I decided to go first to "Ultimate Protection and Sound" since it was the closest to my home then, I would check the others for comparison. Corey was very helpful and quickly explained to me that Prestige alarms are overly sensitive to go off and that the last remote we had was worn out and therefore it was hard to unlock. I had to click many times to unlock (even after changing the battery) The choice was trying to find a remote that work with it since the alarm was discontinued (about 8 years old alarm) or getting an new alarm. There was a sale going on on several alarms including the one I had looked at the previous place and online. With the price minus the discount I was able to add two more sensors: Glass Sensor and Digital Tilt Sensor and the price was still under my budget. The installation was quick and Corey himself took the time to show me how operate the alarm (there are some other options besides what is on the remote control) and tested the additional two sensors. After this lengthy review I give "Ultimate Protection and Sound" five stars. If there is need I will update this post in the future. Tip: It pays to do some homework to narrow your alarm choice and find the best possible place. read more

I came up today to see what's going on and suddenly there's something wrong with the wires that they're charging another $40 to do. Why this didn't come up last time I'll never know. I shopped around the Galleria and Sharpstown area for a fairly priced car electronics installer and this place can't be beat. Their prices are fantastic! I brought in a stereo receiver, remote start/security alarm, and backup camera. They installed everything for just over 400. The remote start/alarm alone would have cost that much at other places in the area. Don't mistake their cheap prices for poor quality work. Everything turned out great! I had a power problem with my alarm . I called at about 1030 and explained that my alarm was not working and i asked if i could bring it in. I cam in later that day and the alarm guy was working on another vehicle but was asked to check my car out. 30 minutes later i was told that when i got my Dash Cam from Best Buy, the Best Buy Tech unplugged the power to my alarm. I got the Llumar tint put on my car. Corey was really nice, however I was not happy with the job. The cut of the film was not straight and you could see it in the bottom of the back window. There were also some little circles in the film that looked like the film was missing in those spots. read more

At first I used Ultimate to repair mistakes that other tint/alarm business made. I would have done business with Cory sooner but he always had too many customers in front of me so I settled on whatever I could find. I've used Cory for all my alarm and window installs over the last few years. It helps if you go on a weekday and you get there as soon as the business opens. Cory is exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. He has been operating at the same location for about twenty years now so that tells you something. His tint man just completed two Llumar tint jobs on my truck and my daughter's Altima. Extremely satisfied with the job and the product quality. His tint man takes his time to do a first class job. This particular tint lowers the heat and the UV rays that penetrate your vehicle. In addition to these benefits, I love the fact that Llumar has reduced the glare of headlights in all directions. Even though the tint makes it a little darker at night, I actually see better now as incoming headlight beams don't blind me anymore. And this tint goes on clear on the front windshield. Cory's alarm man troubleshooted my problem with my Mazda very well. Instead of selling me another alarm system (which i bet other dealers would do in a New York minute), he spent fifteen minutes figuring the problem out and installed a trunk alarm. He also recommended that I should only have one remote so I took the dealer remote off. Problem solved. First class place. Cory is attentive to your needs and problems. He listens and his solutions do not involve profit margins. He determines what you want, what you need, and what you can afford. I just can't say enough about this place! read more

Very straightforward. Work was done in a couple hours (a couple folks were ahead of me) and the price was by far the most competitive. If I ever need any tinting done again.
