It seems deceptive to leave this known minimum cost off the written estimate. I was dismayed by the combative response to my questioning of this approach, and to my suggestion that customers would be better served by including this information in the written estimate. I was further disappointed that the owner did not reach out to me following that unpleasant phone conversation. Addendum: I left a voice message for Ryan after his written Yelp response to my above post, and he quickly called me back. I was impressed that Ryan spent a fair bit of time with me on the phone on a Sunday to further explain and apologize for the situation, and he offered that they would be rethinking their approach to the parking permit fee issue on their written estimates in the immediate future, which I think is a positive outcome.
