The collar was poorly fitted on my dog so that he was able to slip his collar and get away on a pack walk. It also stained my clothing and my white dog badly when we went out in the rain despite using the mink oil on it as requested. As soon as I got to class my dogs would be taken away from me and Mike would mainly handle them. The result being that my dogs listen to Mike in the studio but do not listen at home even though I'm working with them daily. After completing 12 sessions we continued to go to playgroups. I mentioned to him that my dog became aggressive with a friend and he brushed it off telling me that I should pick my friends better and trust my dog. Not sure this is the best advice considering no matter who it is I can't have my dog biting people. After I spent my $600 on classes, and bought into every up-sale I was told that I was no longer welcome in group Because another group member saw me at a dog park with her dog. We were the only ones there, I didn't let them drink out of the water or eat any other dogs poop. The day before Christmas I woke up to an extremely aggressive message (8 am- before business hours even) telling me I was no longer welcome in the group. To be quite honest I wasn't ever actually told that I couldn't bring my dog to the dog park but I need to let them go to the bathroom in between appointments we had that day it's not some thing that I even do often. Besides learning some hand signals that my dogs don't respond to despite continuous personal work with them, I walked away in a worse position then I started in and light over $600. I forgot to mention also that he told me my husband wasn't allowed at training.

I have taken three of my dogs to Patience Inspired Dog Training. One of my dog's did intermediate,…read moreadvanced, and an agility class. My middle dog did intermediate and a doggy mind games class. It's a mix of agility, tricks, and go find skills. My last pup completed intermediate, advanced, therapy dog, agility, and a trick class. The trainers have all been wonderful and my dogs got exposure to others and it helped me make sure we got their basic manners down. The obedience classes were great because it taught my pups to work with distractions from other animals. It also served as a great reminder to me that I have to let the dogs know that I am in charge. The agility class helped one of my dogs with her anxiety. It helped her to become more confident. I didn't take my middle dog for agility because she isn't able to sit straight so some of the obstacles would've be difficult for her. So I did a class that offered a little of each of the other fun classes they offer and she did a wonderful job navigating the tricks, the basic agility, and was able to find my hidden cell phone by the time class was done. My last pup is a people pup so I was able to take her all the way through to training to her to be tested for a therapy dog. She likes all people and I knew this would be a great thing for her. PIDT helped us get ready and my pup was able to pass her therapy dog test. They offer so many great classes as well as offering private lessons. Having taken lessons at Petsmart prior to finding PIDT through research, there is no comparison. My dogs got so much more going here than what they were given at Petsmart. If you are looking for some doggy manners, a way to keep your pup active, or to learn some new skills I highly recommend you give them a call.

Anne answered all of my questions without ever making me feel like i was imposing or taking up too much time. She emphasized several times that a puppy is a big decision and to take all the time i needed, and ask every question that came to mind. She got to know me in the process and told me all about her experience with dogs and raising puppies, so when i came to look at a litter, i trusted her input in picking the right puppy for me and my partner. She asked about the size of our home, our work schedules, our exercise levels, EVERYTHING that would be relevant when picking a puppy with the right temperament for us. She hosted us for as long as we pleased to see the puppies, play with them, and we she ultimately helped us pick the right puppy and now, 3 years later, still checks in with us from time to time to see how we are doing.
