I boarded my elderly moms dog due to an emergency . He was there for about one week . He was up to date on all shots . He has never had to be boarded before . Once home , he started with a cough . Never having this before , we thought maybe it was allergies. Cough never went away so he was seen by our vet who diagnosed him with kennel cough . I was not impressed by the appearance of the kennels reception area. It was rather dirty and unkept . Not a good first impression. read more

I've used CC for a number of years and wouldn't leave my dog or cat anywhere else. They are caring, friendly, and my Buddy runs to them without a backwards glance. He truly loves doggie daycare a couple of times a week and when we've boarded him. My cat isn't as enamored of boarding but the accommodations are amazing. It's more like a cat condo, with a large window for bird watching, a cat tree, bed, littler box. It's larger than any kennel I've ever seen. And again, they take amazing care of my senior kitty. My dog had been going to Creature Comforts doggie daycare since 2017, found out a few weeks ago I was paying to have my dog put in a run all day alone. I was told by staff we take here out a couple times times to run in the yard alone. Staff said to me didn't anyone talk to you about this, I said if they did do you think I would still be bringing her here to be put in a run alone, that is not what I signed up for. Excellent Grooming & Boarding! Creature Comforts is very organized with pick up & drop off. The facility is clean & the staff is highly qualified, along with their positive, happy to see you attitude. We needed to board our Lab for three days, when we returned, Our dog did not want to leave, He loved it there! That speaks volumes! The groomer did a fantastic job! I tried Creature Comforts for one night for my two dogs, 12/22/23. Things weren't very smooth to start. They were slow to reply: "I see you had sent another email asking about the 8th and I apologize for no one getting back to you sooner, I'm not sure what happened there." They indicated: Policies: 1. A complimentary Meet & Greet session is required, but I found they didn't seem concerned about scheduling it after I booked our boarding night. I did want this though because I wanted to see where they would be and meet the staff. The day I brought them they indicated that the dogs would normally stay for a couple hours, they never told me this. That also doesn't match my idea of a 'meet and greet.' I felt that there was a fairly strong bad odor at the time in the inside kennel area. Before the boarding night, I received a phone call asking me if I wanted to add additional services. This was something that was offered during the online scheduling and felt like they were trying to add to the boarding fee. I did ask and pay for a walk the first afternoon and the next morning. When I arrived just before noon they told me that hadn't been able to get them out for the morning walk, "too busy." When I dropped them off the staff person seemed somewhat unfamiliar with the process as it took a while. I prepackaged their food as directed: 'You must provide individual prepackaged containers or Ziplock bags.' When I picked them up they handed back 3 of the 4 bags of food I provided. 2 dogs x 2 meals each, same food, same amount. They had only given them one bag for 2 meals each! So they were given 1/4 of what they would normally get, both for dinner and breakfast. I couldn't believe it! It's a stressful situation to kennel dogs, especially for the first time and especially for rescue dogs. They had no explanation for me. The person that was trying to figure out what happened kept saying, "We go by what's in the computer." They did refund the cost of my stay but man, I never imagined that they wouldn't feed them their full food. No one with dog experience would think you give a 45 lb border collie a 1/4 C of food at each meal! Why would they look at 4 bags of food and split one in quarters between the 2 dogs?? That was all the food I gave them - so simple! And if there was any question I was easily reachable! I wrote to Victoria, the Staff Lead, who I had been in communication with before the boarding night. I didn't get any response, nothing. So clearly, I won't be using them again and would never recommend them. read more

They helped us over the course of a year and a half dozen stays, completely turn around a rescue Red Heeler from an aggressive, defensive and hands off dog to one who runs to get in the door and is now friends with this dedicated and patient staff! We have been leaving our dog Mollie here for more than 3 years whenever we go on vacation. The people who work at the kennel, are prefessional and obviously love animals. The facilities are clean are wonderful and they always take great care of her. She comes home happy and well exercised. Dog socialization is included at no extra charge and we always get updates about who she played with. I seldom give 5 star reviews but Creature Comforts earned it. We have had some bad experiences boarding our dog in the past at other kennels. After some solid recommendations, we decided to try Creature Comforts for a one week stay while on a Disney vacation. What a great decision. From the moment we walked through the door, Derry (our pet Vizsla) was treated like a queen. She was well cared for and exercised multiple time per day. We even got to see some online photos of her playing with all her new friends. We would highly recommend Creature Comforts for Grooming or a short stay while your on vacation. read more

We were traveling through the area and staying at a local RV park. We needed a kennel for a couple of nights so we could travel to NYC. We went to Creature Comforts and found a very well kept facility, with a very friendly and capable staff. As with most people who travel with pets we worry when we leave them with someone we are not familiar with. No need to worry here. This is an excellent kennel. We had an opportunity to tour the location before we dropped off our Labrador. The stalls were indoor and outdoor and were clean as a whistle. In addition to excellent care, we wanted our boy to get some socialization, as he was an adopted dog and we didn't have enough opportunities for him to be off leash. We brought our Giant Schnauzer here for a grooming. We travel Fulltime in our RV and sometimes finding a good groomer is hit or miss for us. Not this time. They did a great job!! This past weekend is the second time I have used Creature Comforts Animal inn in North Stonington Ct. It is the best kennels if have found in the past 25 years. This is a fantastic business! I have known the owner and workers for many years. They have very reasonable prices, will medicate (including IV/shots) your pet to your exact instructions, and take pride in cleanliness. They disinfect (with a pet-safe antimicrobial) all of the yards, indoor kennels, and outdoor kennels daily (including those occupied by the same dog hoteling), they will feed your food or one of their own, they offer retail and grooming, and their cat suites are roomy and have skylights!! They use a power-washer (which is as good as it gets when it comes to cleaning), and they have a special bathing tub that gives your pet the best possible cleaning. If your dog gets gross from the rain or an accident in their run, they will go through the extra effort to make sure your pet gets cleaned right away so you don't go home with a dirty animal. The owner takes pride in her facility, and the employees are happy, friendly, and all love animals. They are constantly working on making their business better, safer, and more efficient. Does your dog dislike other dogs? That's ok, they will give it alone time outside! Is your dog a bully breed, or difficult to handle? That's fine, they will still let your dog out to potty and will take extra precautions to keep your pet and others safe. I would use this business 100% of the time with no regrets. Ask any of the staff there- they love their job!! read more
