When we needed to duplicate a car key we had no idea it would be such a difficult ordeal. Apparently a key with a chip inside cannot be made by just anyone who carries them, well they can make them but the keys don't always work, until we discovered A Village Locksmith. Don was able to set us up with not only one but two working keys on his first try and he didn't even charge me for the second one! A true man of his trade. We saved a lot if money by avoiding the dealership and found an excellent local company which we are happy to support. But it gets even better. This week we needed a stuck door handle for a French door lock addressed at our home. Craig from AVL came out the very next day at time he said he would. Although the style of door lock we have is very unusual he was able to teach us all about it and where we could look for further help in replacing it. Craig did such a great job to chang my double door front door lock! It was a very difficult job as the old lock had a complete different drilling of the wood double door from the new digital lock that I needed to install. Craig did careful measurement and put a lot of thinking as how to re-configure the drilling of the double door to fit my new digital lock. He came back with a wood piece that he had manufactured at home based on the measurements he took, and replace the entire lock as well as accessory pieces for the double door. The new lock and it's accessory pieces look so beautiful on the double door! I am amazed at his craftmanship and his conscientiousness. I am kind feeling guilty about the amount of work he put into getting this done so perfectly! I will always use Craig for any of my lock works that need to be done in the future! read more

My wife and I called Craig at "A Village Locksmith" to have the locks on our doors re-keyed. We called him because we noticed so many five star reviews for him here on yelp.com. This turned out to be a case where the reviews were completely accurate! Craig came out today to do the job, the day we called him and he arrived on time, even a few minutes early which pleased us. Craig did an excellent job and was very reasonable in price. He's also a very nice person. Craig even replaced a door knob at almost no additional cost and made a minor adjustment on one of our doors so it would close more smoothly at no additional cost. We sure wish all contractors were as decent as Craig, or even HALF as decent! We would definitely use Craig again in the future and would highly recommend him to others. Hi! Hafta tell yaul this: A Village Locksmith, came to our home to rekey locks for us. We were scheduled to leave town the next day and needed this work done before we left. The gentleman showed up, was dressed kinda casual, but had his drill ready for work. He identified himself as Craig, the Owner, and he came right on in, took care of the issues I had, and only charged me exactly what he said he would: 89 bucks! Then, later, about 45 minutes after he left, my husband pointed out that I had forgotten about 2 other locks. I called Craig back, and eventho he was no longer in the area and wouldn't be for another day, he spoke with me by phone, and even checked with me several days later on the issue...WHAT a GUY! He totally didn't have to do that! I am VERRRY glad that I called him, as opposed to the other company that we had used several years before, they wanted an arm and a leg!! Craig was quick, skilled and personable..I'd definitely call him again, and I think you'll be pleased if you do too! read more
