Christian Brothers Automotive Billings - Complementary Shuttle Service

    Christian Brothers Automotive Billings

Without a doubt - I highly recommend Christian Brothers in Billings, Montana. I was on vacation…read morewith my family. We'd traveled from Washington to South Dakota. Did the usual tourist stuff - Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, a little fly fishing in Montana. We were headed home and the snow started blowing. No big deal. But them, loud bang and the engine started making a popping noise. So in the blizzard (and in the middle of nowhere - no cell reception) I popped the hood. I couldn't see anything with the wind and snow. With just over 100 miles to Billings, I decided to limp into town. I felt like it was a combustion issue and not something more serious - as in blow up the engine serious. After crawling @ 55mph, we made it to Billings and found an O'Reilly's. No with light and no storm, I could see one of my plugs had "blown" clean from the cylinder head. FYI - Ford 5.4L engine - not uncommon. This wasn't a repair I could do on the road. So I stressed it overnight, wondering where I would find a shop (without any referrals) that could make this repair - quickly. Oh, and on a Friday. Easter Break was about to end, so I needed to get the kids back home for school. The next morning, I made a few calls. No one could get me in. Then I googled mechanics near our hotel, and I found Christian Brothers. My first thought was whether or not Christian was the family name or if it was a Christian-based business. After looking at their site, I saw it was the latter. As a Christian, I felt like this was a great indicator of a reputable and trustworthy business. Let's face it - we've all been taken advantage of by a mechanic or contractor. Sadly, it's not uncommon. If you haven't, lucky you. I called the shop and talked with Josh. He said they could get me in and possibly get the repair done by the end of day. This was great news. I limped the 15 minutes to their shop, and I was really pleased when I got there. Great looking facility and Eli, who initially helped me, was very friendly. Shortly after checking in, I talked with Josh again. He explained the most likely repair options and said they would take a look and give me a call. Before I even left, I had a text saying I was checked in. So remember, I am not a local. I live in Washington. So I had no ride back to the hotel. I asked Josh if Uber serviced the area. He said yes, but he told me they had a shuttle that could take me back to the hotel. At this point, I knew I was in the right place. Oh, the shuttle driver - Eli (also the owner's son) - what a great young man. I pray that he has a long, successful baseball career. His family should be proud of him. About an hour later, I received a call from the service manager letting me know they found the issue/solution. He gave me a very reasonable quote, and I let him know that I'd like them to do the work. About an hour later, I received another text explaining the parts had arrived at the shop, and my tech was beginning the repair. A few hours later, a call - my call was ready for pick-up. Josh offered the shuttle to come get me. I'll be on my way here in about 5 minutes. This experience - minus the whole car meltdown on a family vacation - has been absolutely wonderful. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Christian Brothers - locals and travelers alike. If you're on a vacation, and your car breaks down, I hope you find this review.

We had car troubles while visiting Billings and despite having a day's full schedule, Quang asked…read moreme to bring it in so he could give us a better idea of what was going on with it, knowing that we were anxious to get back on the road. He gave it a short test drive with us, confirmed our concerns, and pulled it into the garage and upon raising it up, quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem as a faulty tire that had basically warped/bloated and become uneven. The car was fixed that same day and at a reasonable price. Special shout out to Danielle, who bent over backwards to shuttle us to and from where we were staying. Being from out of town, it was so reassuring to know that we were treated the same as the locals and not taken advantage of, since we were in a bind. I would highly recommend Chung Bros and would have them work on our car again without reservation. Thanks again for getting us squared away and back on the road!

A year later I was back to get brakes done again, they claimed to have gotten a bad batch of rotors. A year later I was back to get a caliper replaced, the same one that they supposedly replaced before. They tried to claim it wasn't anything they did or didn't do and stated they don't know where the parts come from or what quality they are. They did eventually agree to replace the bad caliper but said they would not do any more work on my vehicles. A couple weeks later, as I was driving down the interstate the caliper came loose. Thankfully the bolt that came out completely was the top and not the bottom, that saved me from having a wheel lock up. Chung Brothers recommended that I continue driving down the interstate and tried to avoid responsibility. They did pay for another shop to work on the brakes after I threatened to take them to court if they refused. I just did work on my front wheels and found additional things missing from the brakes that reduced the lifespan but thankfully were not critical to safety. DO NOT GO TO CHUNG BROTHERS. AVOID THEM LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT, IT MAY.
