For the past couple of years, I have been using this facility every week. Is it clean, luxurious, all machines in working order kind of place? Nah! But *There is an attendant who can help if coins get stuck etc (not the friendliest but I don't personally care) and he tries to keep the place clean *Different sizes of machines *It's been always open during the posted hours except once when I guess someone was replacing someone and I had my clothes in the dryer but they let me stay by myself and I just had to shut the door behind me. *Typically not very busy *Change has been always available except once Convenience store nearby to get detergent and bleach, and sometimes they sell there as well. Bring exact cash as they have no ATM nor do they change for smaller bills. The coin change machine takes $20 and under. That is not the place's fault at all and I know it's not their responsibility but be careful to leave when machines run as there are some bad actors out there claiming "they didn't know these were not their items" For me, this place is a blessing as I have tons of sheets and towels to do weekly and I have no laundry in the house. read more

Washing Machines: The cheapest machines are $2.50 and can hold a pretty full load of clothes, but it's too small for a comforter (according to the sign posted). The next size up is the $ 3 machines, but they don't look much bigger. Then they have larger machines for comforters/rugs that are $4 per load. All the washing machines I've used worked well and my Tide pods were fully dissolved. (They have even larger machines for $7 per load, but I haven't used those.) Dryers: The dryers are 6 minutes per quarter and they get very hot! I put 18 minutes on one machine and 24 minutes on the other two machines. I checked on all of them with 3 minutes left on my 18 minute machine, and my clothes were fully dry. My towels were in a machine with 24 minutes and they were almost fully dry with 10 minutes left on the machines. The Space: The attendant was cleaning the machines when I first came in, but it looked pretty dingy inside. There are benches and also higher chairs next to tables with computers on them. The computers don't seem to be functioning, but the table space is big enough if you want to bring your own laptop and get work done. They have the standard carts for laundry and folding tables. They have a bathroom for customers. There was only bar soap for use in the bathroom, which I wouldn't use. Overall, the value here is good, with the $2.50 machine being the cheapest I've seen compared to other laundromats. They also don't seem to get crowded the two times I've been here, so I haven't had to wait for any machines to free up. The only notable cons for me are 1) doors close at 8:30pm, and 2) the bathroom. The pros outweigh the cons, so I'll likely make this spot my go-to for laundry. read more

It's a shame about this spot because I've been coming here for the past 6+ years. The hours of operation are decent, open 7 days a week. They have several sizes of machines that can accommodate your various sizes of laundry loads. There's a money changing machine so you don't have to worry about bringing your own quarters. They even offer a wash & folding service at $1.00/lb. They've recently changed management, however, and although the place is 10x cleaner than it used to be, I've never seen so many machines out-of-order. (Out of a row of 6 machines, 3 were out of service - and that was just one aisle! On another row - the extra large machines - 4 were out, and 2 were being used). The woman they have working was not helpful one bit. She doesn't speak a drop of English and doesn't even make an attempt to help you fix the problem. I've come to use this spot several times after the management change, and thought I'd give them a few more chances, but every time I come, it's become more and more frustrating. The place is really a bleeping mess. BUT they have many very large and new machines. The employees are super helpful and friendly. My only gripe is they only have like 4 tables to fold on and it can get crowded/tight. Big thumbs up for having a sink on among the wash machines! They should clean it up bit before someone slips and sues, but as long as I'm staying in west oakland, this is my laundry mat. This place used to be my go-to spot, but not any more, sadly. Tina is there most days and for years I have put up with a steady amount of abuse and unprofessionalism from her. Simply put, she is a bully. I have seen her be pleasant to some other customers, but it seems she is very selective. I am small, frail and very friendly and I have noticed that some people consider that an invitation to mistreat me, because they think I won't fight back. I have put up with it quietly for several years now. On a number of occasions, when I went to pick up my laundry she was unwilling to find it and when I asked her for change she said she had to charge me to make it, one dollar! I am elderly and when I struggle with the door or when I am having an asthma attack, instead of helping me with the door, she stands there and laughs at me. So finally I told her that I didn't appreciate her behavior and that it was childish. She replied by saying that she would tell the owner that I had touched her! (Battery) Then she made fun of my appearance. Then she told me that I was no longer welcome as a customer. Sadly, I will now be contacting the owner to explain the situation and take them to court for elder abuse and slander. They do great laundry but people who are disabled and elderly should not have to accept being bullied in order to get their laundry done. But hey, it is in my neighborhood, so I use them from time to time whenever I have a large item to wash. I don't own a car and getting around is a great hardship. The elderly gentleman who was there Sunday was courteous and helpful, so I guess I will go on Sundays if I need to use their machines from now on. read more

Ok, I'm bumping my review up 2 stars for several really good reasons. 1. This is definitely the place to go if you have a really large load or need to wash comforters. They have washers that can hold up the 5 loads, and if you're actually doing that much laundry, it will actually save you money by sticking it all in one tub - $6.75 for a wash vs. $2.25 per 1 or 2 load washers. 2. You can dry a comforter and sheets in 30 minutes on high. I used to go to a place in Piedmont where it took 50 minutes sometimes. This time difference is usually attributed, I'm told, to both how new the dryers are and how often they're cleaned. 3. They offer wash and fold as well as dry-cleaning, so a staff member is always on-hand here if something else has a meltdown. 4. There are 2 flatscreen TVs...with cable. 5. They have computers with internet access available, too. Really, it's somewhere between 4 and 5 stars simply because of the aforementioned locking of the doors at 8:30, but the more I get to know the neighborhood, the more I understand the reasoning behind this (the only businesses that stay open in this shopping center after that time are McDonald's, KFC, and Pizza Love). read more

Do it yourself: This place is great! They have lots of nice machines in good condition and it's clean. I normally go on the weekends and I've never had to wait to use a machine, although there are times when it's busier than others. Wash & Fold: Ok, so while I do think it's a nice laundromat, I don't love hanging out at the laundromat for hours at a time so I tried their wash and fold service today. I was using a place in San Francisco for the last nine months and Andrea at A1 did such a superior job I was in awe as I unpacked my clothes. She even paired my socks!! I was totally jazzed about it. Pricing is very reasonable - I'll definitely be going with this option in the future. Dry Cleaning: their dry cleaning service does nice job and I haven't had a problem. I've had skirts and sweaters washed there before and they even got a stain out of a fancy party dress last time. I'd recommend them. read more

We moved to Oakland and had to find a new wash and fold. This place is great for the price and ease of drop off and pick up. For $1 per pound with a 1 day turn around, it's pretty awesome. The lady that works here is really sweet and helpful too. You clothes can be picked up in 24 hours from drop off. They are folded, but not very well. You'll have to steam some things when you get home. Unfortunately, we've had a few articles of clothing come back with bleach stains and a few of my husbands things never came back. I feel like it's the risk you take for wash and fold when the service is cheap. read more

Clean and nice. Yes, it's across the street from Acorn village, but don't let that deter you. Quarter operated, with new, oversize washers and dryers in addition to the normal size. It's bright inside, and there is also laundry service if you just don't have the time or inclination to do it yourself. Middle of a Friday was totally open. I love this laundry. Its ALWAYS clean and well stocked with anything you might need such as dryer sheets. The staff is very friendly and very considerate of everyone who marches thru the place. What impresses me is that there are no loiterers like in some of the other washhouses Ive been to in the nicer parts of Oakland. This helps ensure that my stuff doesnt walk off. The machines are cleaned regularly throughout the day which is awesome. I love theres TV n the facility and Mikkie Dees right next door. The price is great, and you can drop in on your way to downtown oakland and fluff your blouse or shirt for 25 cents !! Awesome place im going back every couple weeks. read more

This place is a UPS pickup location. Yes, that probably sounds as bizarre as it should--a laundromat is a UPS location... well today I had to pick up a package that to my great surprise was located at this laundromat. Weird! I wasn't the only one who found this an odd place to pick up a package--the man working behind the customer service counter was really, really unhappy about this new situation. I've never had a more difficult run in with someone who I handed a tracking slip/my ID over to... when I asked him why he needed to take my ID, rather than simply view it through the plexiglass--you know, less chances to transmit a virus was what I was thinking. He freaked out. Told me I should keep my mouth shut, if I want my package I will do what he says. it took him about 10 minutes to punch things into his phone while he looked over my package (he was clearly messing with me now). I tried to calm him down, but he was having none of it--told me NEVER HAVE MY PACKAGES DELIVERED HERE! He had some choice words for me as I walked out saying "have a nice day" in a sarcastic tone, and that prompted him to come out from behind the counter and unleash the full profane arsenal on me... wow. I got my package. Be sure to smile and be gentle with this man, he needs a boost. read more

Best laundromat I've seen in a while. Tons of functional machines and friendly employees and patrons. My roommates and I did about 30 loads of laundry at the same time and never had to wait despite it being a Sunday. Also, McDonalds and KFC for mid-laundry bad decisions. This review has been a long time coming--I've only waited to give a one star rating because I was hoping that this business would become more clean and become considerate of paying customers. I have two complaints (as you probably may well know about now): 1. This place is never clean! The restroom is shockingly, filthy! The restroom is of a size that could be effectively sanitized in 5 minutes or less. So there is no excuse that will justify its nasty state. The actual laundromat is unclean as well; if someone ever decide to clean, they are full on mopping the floor at like 1 or 2pm, when the place is packed with patrons! There's a slipping hazard. 2. On two different occasions, I've had words with others about available laundry carts (to use to cart your heavy loads to the dryers). The employees are inconsiderate by thinking it's okay to utilize most of the carts AND TAKE UP ALL THE FOLDING TABLES while performing their wash and fold service. Many customers have had to ask them for space to fold their laundry and ask for laundry carts. Most of the time customers are not obliged. How could they be so inconsiderate and lack the use of good business judgement? Simply allow space, washers, dryers and load carts for paying customers. Most important: CLEAN THE PLACE! I am looking into another establishment. UPDATE: ADDED 2 MORE STARS! WENT BACK TO THE PLACE AND FOUND IT TO BE VERY CLEAN, AS A COURTESY TO ITS CUSTOMERS. THERE WERE TONS OF LAUNDRY WHEELING CARTS AVAILABLE. ALSO, YOU NOW HAVE TO ASK FOR A KEY TO USE THE RESTROOM--GOOD DECISION TO MAKE, ESPECIALLY IF IT HELPS KEEP THE RESTROOM CLEAN AND SANITARY. This place has false closing time advertisement which is very unfair to the customers. Closing time says 9pm. I get there at 8:50pm which means I should have 10 minutes to get my belongings. When I arrived, the lights were out and the doors were locked. Now I am left without blankets to sleep with for my newborn and myself. read more

I adore this laundromat. I've been going here for 2 years. It's the cleanest place I've had the pleasure to go to, and the staff are really fine. I also really like that they are not locking the dryer lint traps, so I can go ahead and clean them out before I start my load... sweet, the first place I've had that ability to do it. There's never been a LOT in the trap, but I know that cleaning it out before I do my own load will make the drying time faster. One TV runs quirky cartoons late at night- while the other has bland shows on. I swear, a bunch of folks seem to kind of dress up to go here... it can be a flirtatious time if you want to play that way. Thank you! read more

I don't know if there's a new owner at this place or not, but it has really gone downhill in the last couple years or so! I used to like this laundry mat because it was conveniently located by my job (making it easier to do my laundry after work) and it seemed clean and well-kept. The floors were cleaned by the worker continuously, so it wasn't that gross, sticky look. Now, however even the convenience of the location is no longer enough for me to continue doing my laundry here. The facility was incredibly dirty, from the machines being covered with dirt and laundry detergent, to the floors being sticky and wet. It was to the point that I didn't even want my dirty clothes to touch the dirty floor! Inside the washers was almost just as bad! The young Asian girl behind the counter barely understood what I was saying to her, and when I asked her if it was safe to use 2 of the machines that had water and liquid loaded in the machine already, she just said " I just cleaned. Hold on one moment" and left me there for almost 5 minutes until she brought back a dirty washcloth to soak up the water & liquid! I told her never mind, and tried to use another machine, but just couldn't stomach it. Again, I used to like this laundry mat, but I can now say ... unless they clean up their act, I will never do my laundry here again. read more

Quite literally the best laundromat in the entire area! The machines are top notch and there is a ton of different sizes to choose from, the place is clean and has a large variety of soaps and other laundry products to choose from. Having gone to other laundromats in the area this is by far the cheapest and the most efficient one. Despite the day of the week, I have never had to wait at all to use a machine. Also, KFC or Micky Ds in the parking lot so you can munch on a burger n' fries and watch TV while your clothes are cleaned. Yes, please, and thank you! read more

After the manager reviewed the security tape she discovered an employee left the wash and fold laundry door unlocked and a homeless man was on camera waking out with my laundry. Problem number one is she asked if they caught the homeless person would I want the laundry back. How about NO! She me to present a list of what I dropped off for reimbursement. I did and the owner told me I spend too much money on my belongings. THE NERVE. I can afford wash and fold because I commute hours a day to the city to buy nice things. After speaking with the owner he offered me peanuts for 30 pounds of clothes. If you're looking for a wash and fold that lets homeless people walk out with your clothing you have paid hundreds upon hundreds of dollars for this is your place. If you want to deal with a manager and owner who place zero value and take zero responsibility for letting your hard earned money walking out the door due to their negligence this is also the place. I'm preparing to sue them to recover the money I lost trusting this lowlife ghetto wash and fold. In this case you definitely get what you pay for. Don't do it. I come here since its opening day by day the service is becoming crappy machines are old use only cold water even if you pick hot never hot water the price is outrageous for place that does not have hot cycle. The person who work there she does not even care to check if there is something wrong. Cold water. The people are nice enough and the prices we not too bad but you have to consider that the water is cold. The water is not lukewarm or almost hot or sometimes hot. All of their water is cold all of the time. read more
