We have used A1 Mitchell for 6-7yrs. and everything was good. last year we had trouble contacted them to schedule a service,took about 4 calls to get a response. They did come after all the calls . They talked us into a pre-pay ($100)saying that they would contact when it was time for service,we agreed. This year we have called 15 times minimum and went by the office spoke to CORY and he said that he had problems and would get us scheduled,he never did. We also spoke to KEN the Senior of this company, he had nothing but excuses and was rude and hung up on our call stating that he did not like my attitude. A1 Mitchell was hired to come to my house and fix my air conditioner last Thursday. The technician told me we needed a part and they would order it and install it this week. We are in a heat wave with health warnings now. I call Ken and he told me that the part was ordered. I asked him when it would be here and he asked me if I had the tracking number. I told him he ordered the part and he should have the tracking number. He said I was not his customer and could not help me and hung up. I will be making a formal complaint to the Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB). Do not waste your time or risk your health dealing with this incompetent company. read more

Our air conditioning went out so we called a competitor to take a look. Their tech was wasn't very friendly and within 20 minutes provided us with the "bad" news that it would cost us well over $2000 to fix it. I decided to call Mitchell's and they were very responsive and came out and spent over an hour looking at the system and calling his office several times. Turns out the part was under warranty and their quote was a $1000 less than the other place. They handled the warranty replacement and kept us up to date every step of the way. Wouldn't you know it, my a/c went out on a Friday. We were in the middle of a heat wave! But Ken checked his emails over the weekend and let me know he had me on his schedule for Monday morning. I received texts and emails on the status of where my service tech was and their ETA. Just as promised, his HVAC man arrived on time, very professional and kind. He fixed my a/c and within an hour I had a nice cold a/c running! We live over an hour N of Las Vegas in a very rural town. Getting service from anyone is not easy-they just don't come this far out and if they do it is weeks before I can get on their schedule. They are rude on the phone and then never show up. DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY! My thermostat was showing "heater on" but gas furnace was not running, LED red and green alternating flash. Tech just reset the main switch "on" and "off" and stare at the furnace for a long time and cant find something wrong with the problem and left. Same problem occurred that night. Requested for another tech but they sent the same tech. This time he told me to replace the filter which did not fix the issue. Maybe it's the signal from the thermostat to the furnace controller or the sensor but he said I'm not replacing any part and left. read more

I have home warranty through Landmark and I'm glad they used this company. I was able to easily schedule an appointment and they called multiple times to make set a time and date with me. I couldn't answer the first day because I was work. Anyway, the day of the appointment I received a cal early in the morning saying that the time would have to be moved from 11-3, to 1-5 pm instead. Not a big deal since I wasn't planning on doing anything anyway but I can understand how it can be inconvenient for others. I was given a call and a text stating who would be coming and a map of how far they were away from my house. Francisco was the HVAC tech and he was great. Easy to talk to and explained everything to me. I was freezing the last few days since the temperature in the house dropped as low as 60. Francisco was in and out in less than 20 minutes and now the heater is running! read more

Customer service simply doesn't exist. Our home insurance company Landmark matched us with A1 Mitchell Heating & Cooling and told us to expect a call from the vendor within 4 business hours to schedule an appointment. No one ever called. We made multiple attempts to contact them ourselves but they never pick up a phone. Our AC is not working and it's unbearable here. We can't even sleep because it's hot. We ended up calling Landmark and requesting a different vendor. Landmark matched us with Allstate who called us with 15 minutes and expected a service call for us knowing we lost a whole day because of A1 Mitchell. Judging by other customers' reviews for A1 Mitchell, it's a normal practice for them not to answer then phone or call customers when they need to. Our A/C upstairs was not working. Christopher at A1 Mitchell's Heating & Cooling showed up the next morning and was able to determine very quickly what the problem was. He took the time to get the part out, paying attention to what would need to be replaced/repaired upon his return. He returned a few days later to install the replacement part. I would give a ZERO if possible. I originally called them. I was told Monday morning. That the earliest would be Tuesday. They did not show until Wednesday. I informed them it seems to be the control board ( control board). After the technician ( Cory, a very nice, professional person) was here for 4 hours. He finally figured out it was the control board. The technician did not have a replacement of his truck( which is understandable). Then he informed me, I have to wait until Saturday before he could return( Cory has Thursday & Friday off). It has been between 105-115 plus for this entire week without AC Upstairs. Saturday comes, they NO SHOWED! I received at text at 10:30 pm. Stating, a employee had a personal issue come up. So any intelligent person would address the missed customers issue 1st the next day. Another bandaid fix company sent out by the home warranty insurance company. They were prompt in their initial appointment and arrived in a timely manner. The unit appeared to be working when they left, but 12 hours later was doing the same thing. Called for a follow up visit and negotiated a time. The tech called and said he's on the way and I took off work again to meet. No call and no show the tech never came. Tried calling the main office only to get voice mail. As for A1Mitchell's heating and cooling..They Never completly fix the problem of my heating unit.. It heats but does not come back on in same day after they leave my home.!! They take pics n vid's of it working running when they leave but it doesn't stay running...They have been working on it for 3 Weeks.. They also don;t know how to schedule as left me waiting all day Monday/Holiday No tech showed up they were closed why then did they make appointment.!!! Had 3 or 4 Techs here n can't get it fixed/corrected permantatley.. If was fixed like they say I wouldn't be calling Am Home shield n A1 Mitchel that it s not working Again.!!!! They are the worst company in Vegas area.. They won't admit to they cant fix it so it stays running for more than a few hours...!! Cory came out to figure out why my heating wasnt blowing air at all. He ran through all the tests, figured out that my Nest thermostat got switched from the electric setting to the gas setting. Once he switched it, boom! Air started blowing out again. He explained all the test results, gave me his card in case we had any future issues. My AC is working again and I really appreciated how the tech, Richie, took the time to talk with me about what was going on with my AC unit. Our home warranty company dispatched A1 to check out my AC unit, which stopped working and it's 116° out. A1 sent me a message this morning saying they would be here between 10a-2p, then at around 1pm i received a text message saying a technician was on the way and would arrive around 1:30p. It's now 5:45p and we haven't heard from them. When I call it goes to a voicemail that is full. What kind of business doesn't have voicemail available and doesn't call their customers with an update if they are running late? I'm a pretty understanding person and can understand that things happen, but you can't even give your customers an update and have us sitting here all day waiting for someone to come out? We could have called another company out and they would have been here already with the amount of time that has passed suffering in this heat. Poor expectations set, did not follow up, now I can't get a hold of them and my insurance can't get a hold of them either. If you set proper expectations( it doesn't matter how bad the expectations are) I would never write a bad review. Waited 3 months to get my first appointment for my winter tune-up. The first appointment set an hour and a half later I receive a call they are running late and won't be able to make that appointment; The second appointment set by owner guaranteeing me they would show up at 9:00 a.m., at 10:15 I receive a call saying they'll be there in 20 minutes! That appointment was canceled by me as I had an 11:00 other appointment. The third appointment by the owner's son guaranteed me that he and another new tech would show up. The tech showed up but not the owner, and he called me saying where are you I'm here and I said the appointment is from 2:00 to 6:00 not at 1:00 I wasn't home. Tech shows up again after 2, I asked him if he knows what he's going to be doing, he says yes tells me, I say and these other couple things were on the list, he calls the boss ends up going to the shop to get another part he needed, and never comes back! Wow...three times you're out and I even said that to them in my phone call with the owner's son. An hour later I get a text saying they have canceled my appointment and will not be coming back! I will say the first two times that they were here they did a good job but repeat service no not so good. So for three months I've been trying to get my winter tune up and consistently lies an excuses from the owner of the company about showing up to do the work that they promised. Shame on you A 1 Mitchells. apparently you have enough customers that my business didn't mean a damn to you. You don't even deserve one star read more

Stay as far AWAY from this company as possible. This company is nothing but a bunch of sideways crooks and have complete disregard to anyone but themselves. The word customer service is a nonexistent term in this companies vocabulary, especially the owner. We had a pending request for them through our Home Warranty company for my parent's heater which has been completely dead for over 2 months, these guys were a 2nd opinion. The tech came in very friendly, or so we thought, explained to us the issue with the heater and that he would give the report to Landmark to get approval. Fast forward to today, we are let known by Landmark Home Warranty, that this company told them the unit has no mechanical issue. This is lie #1, as the tech both verbally and physically wrote out the problem on a paper invoice and gave it to my father. I picked up the phone and called A1 Mitchell's to get to the bottom of why they would write and tell us one thing, then turn around and tell the insurance company another thing. The owner of the company came to the phone, and explicitly told me to stop blowing smoke up his ***, and if I want it repaired to go do it myself. After asking him why he thought it's ok to talk to a customer like this, let alone one that was nothing but nice and courteous to begin with, he turns around and tell me to F myself and hangs the phone up on me. FOR THE SAKE OF YOURSELF STAY AWAY FROM THESE COMPLETE UNPROFESSIONAL CLOWNS. These people should operate a circus rather then a customer service company with how they talk to their customers and lie to make a quick buck off the home warranty, without even doing anything. While it took longer than we would've liked for the part to come in once it got here they were very thorough and got it fixed in a timely manner. This company requires that you pay an annual up-front fee for your annual maintenance on your heating and cooling. I had used this company in 2019, and was satisfied, so I paid the $140 again in January 2020. In late March, and again in April, I called to request the A/C maintenance. Although we were in the middle of the pandemic, I spoke to someone in the office both times. I was told they would get back to me when they were doing the scheduling. In late May, after hearing nothing from A1, I hired another company. Earlier this month, I tried again to schedule the annual maintenance on my furnace. As of yesterday, I have received no response from them. I am out $140. Please don't make my mistake. USE ANOTHER COMPANY! read more

After another company wired my system wrong, blew fuses, and left my system a mess. A1 Mitchell came to the rescue. They were able to figure out and undo what the other company did and get my a/c running. They didn't just repair it, they took the time to go thru my whole system and trouble shoot to make it was top notch. They even found something that was missed by the other company and repaired it.
