First off I have to say that I rarely write reviews except if the service is beyond terrible or beyond exceptional. And Nathan is the BEST. Not only is he very professional but he is super kind and went far beyond what he needed to do. I called him, along with another highly rated yelp locksmith, for a quote to come look at a door with a broken lock. He quoted half the price of the other guy so I went with him. He was on time and after looking at the lock he told me it just needed a new latch. Instead of ordering it himself and charging me three times as much to do so, or telling me that the whole lock needed to be replaced and charging me six times as much to do so, he spent the time to make several phone calls to help find the correct latch and eventually found it for me to order on amazon for $6 (SIX dollars) and told me to call him to come back when it arrived so he could install it. After it arrived he did exactly that, and also fixed THREE other locks in the house that were malfunctioning all for less than the price he originally quoted me for over the phone for the ONE lock. All in all he made three trips and went far beyond my expectations. We now will only use Nathan for any lock/door issues we have and will adamantly refer friends to him as well. Nathan is the best. I was locked out of my office the day we were moving in, and he showed up in minutes to get us unlocked, we didn't miss a beat. Today, he came and rekeyed our locks at the office, the mailbox, and my home (my keys were stolen). All in like 2 hours notice. And his rates are great. Today, I was locked out of my house with a toddler and a baby. I called and since they couldn't get someone out quickly enough to me they gave me the name and number of Nick, who they work with. I was very pleased with this service. The service was quick, from the time I phone to the time they showed up was maybe 1 hour. They were quick, efficient, all keys and locks worked perfectly when they were done. The prices were very fair and I did not have the smallest job. Nathan was great: courteous, prompt, inexpensive, great service, and great work! My key for my 2003 Honda Accord was having trouble sliding all the way into the ignition, sometimes taking as long as 20 minutes for me to get it to work. So, for the last week I was just leaving my key in the ignition and my car doors unlocked, deciding to place my faith in humanity and the power of prayer that my car wouldn't be stolen. I was afraid it was the ignition itself but since my key was also sticky in the door I decided to try replacing the key first. I bought two keys online then called around to various local businesses to get quotes, A1A was the cheapest by far. Not only that, Nathan was very accommodating to my hectic schedule and met me on a Sunday, when most businesses are closed. He cut and coded a sample key first, to make sure it would work, which it did! It slid in perfectly meaning I didn't have to replace my ignition, yay!!! Then he cut and coded the two keys I brought with me and gave me the sample key for free! I was extremely happy with the service provided by Nathan upon my move in to my new place in Sherman oaks. When I asked him ahead of time about the possibility of a smart lock on one of my doors, he was very candid about it stating that he could easily install it, but his company much like every other locksmith charges a 2-3x markup for the cost of such an item, and recommended I order it from Amazon prime instead, which I did, likely saving $200. How refreshingly honest! Also- after he changed five locks for me, he came back a week later with no charge because I (by my own fault) had forgotten to ask him to clip a lock which we had no key for, during his original service call. He could have easily asked me for his $35 "coming out" fee, but preferred to build rapport with someone who'll now be his client for as long as I live in Sherman oaks! I had an urgent situation yesterday with workers in my house when I had to leave for work and couldn't find the key to lock my bedroom door. I wrote down 3 numbers for locksmiths from Yelp and A1A was the first one I called. Fortunately Nathan was in between jobs and came over within minutes of my call.
