Terrible job on 3 rooms in my home! Floors are rough, not smooth at all. Owner even stated my floors should be buffed one more time, even sent me an email saying he was sorry there were still particles in my floor--but never did anything to fix! Walking barefoot on the floors he sanded/finished compared to my other floors that he did not touch is very, very noticeable. Rough for his work and SMOOTH on the rest of my floors--If you were to swifter the floors he did, fibers from the swifter would be stuck--as would snag!
Also, asked for shiny, oil base poly, yet he used water based. So, floors look dull. I was very, very specific on what I wanted, yet he did what he wanted! Also, he left machine marks--found tips online and it is recommended that older floors be done at 7%-15% angle not straight with floors--He did not do this which is why black stain ridge like marks on our floors. Left huge water puddle on floor in one room--they did their thing, left for over 2 hours after just arriving at 12:30p. Asked me if he could arrive about 11 that day, but showed up close to 12:30p. Then left soon after for lunch and bid of other job (my job was not important or priority for him)--upon examining the room, large puddle in middle--upon their return, I pointed the puddle out, they just pushed it around--Left at 4p. So, basically 2 hour day. Next day when floors were dry--looked dull and dirty. Came back a week later to examine his work and sent me email/text apologizing for the particles in my floor--but did not come back to repair or buff again! Did not match stain in rest of home--which the oil poly also ads a tint of red which is what our other floors have! So when he does brown with water base--not going to match!!?? Not sure how he obtains his training or skills??
Also, contacted me prior to start date and 2 times changed start date! Telling me he was behind on other jobs! Arrived late all 3 days, postponed, and terrible job on the floors! Not professional. Have to hire another company to repair his work. Stain is in places it also should not be (thresholds as he did not removed them) or old stain left behind in corners or near fireplace. Did not remove baseboards, just shoe molding--other company said baseboards should be removed. Sadly, he was hired by contractor (their choice, not mine). I have recommended to our contractor that this company NOT be paid! Especially, since someone else has to come in to repair his poor work/job. read more
