We hired Molyneaux to install manufactured hardwood on our first and second floor. They were supposed to have it installed while we were on our honeymoon. Instead, they barely finished our second floor and had none of our first floor done when we returned. On top of that, it took them an additional three days to finish the job. The final job included uneven floors, floors that creaked, and floors that were not evenly distributed. They clearly were in a hurry, with quality being a minor concern. They offered us $500 credit for a future job but their pricing for said future job was so outrageous it seemed a joke. Instead we went another direction. We used Empire for our addition 6 months later, and the quality difference is noticeable. The Empire floors are solid, even, and stable. The Molyneaux floors are uneven, inconsistently placed, and lacking quality for the price charged. Overall very disappointing. read more

I have been trying to do business with Molyneaux. Needing all new flooring for my salon business. About 1500 sq. Ft. About 8 calls later .... I still do not have a quote. They have sent to people out on 2 different occasions to measure for the quote. This is for Whitehouse salon. Both visits .... Nobody measured. We received a satisfaction survey for the sales experience before we even had our consultation. Once the installation happened, not one question about our satisfaction with the three separate flooring installs we had. It felt as though once they had our money they didn't care. We were disappointed with the mess left in front of the house by the carpeting crew, no attempt to minimize or clean up the large amount of debris they created. There was also notable damage in almost every area they worked on with chunks of paint taken out of the walls, radiators, and baseboards. We also had two rooms where our ceramic/porcelain tiles were cracked and damaged from them moving furniture out of the way to install and putting in thresholds. Wish I could recommend Molyneaux, but for the price of their services I would prefer to save and hire another company to install similar if not the same flooring. read more

The person measuring for the carpet had no idea what she was doing. We ended up paying for 64 square feet of carpet we didn't need. It was an expensive carpet that was not in stock.and took a long time to.come in. The carpet has not worn well and has yo be cleaned 3 to 4 times a year. We were shopping around for new carpeting and flooring for our entire house. Renee had came with a few samples of carpeting and flooring. During the estimate, my husband had inquired about the quality and price of the one carpet sample she was showing us. Instead of telling us if this was a high, medium or low quality carpet and what the prices per square foot, she went on about the warranty and the backstory of the company. So, what is the price per carpet. Who knows?! We continue to look at the samples while she does some measurements on the rooms and she plugs all the measurements into her iPad and we provide her the flooring options we've chosen. She goes on and on about how they have a 35% sale and rebate they offer. She provides a total and almost insists we pull the trigger then and there. We wanted to wait for our second estimate, so we didn't move forward yet. She sends us the estimate, which is a 2 page document with text but no line item numbers to explain where and how we got to that total. How much of the total was just carpeting and how much was the flooring? Moving forward, our second company comes out for an estimate. It's a local shop. They provided the same exact carpeting we liked from here. And a high grade flooring option. We felt the second company was more personable, transparent and honest with their services and pricing. They provided us all the same things we'd get from here and more. Plus the price was substantially cheaper. When I politely told Renee our decision to move forward with another company she knocked the price down $250 (which was unimpressive and lacked the price point we got with company B). I again told her no thanks, that she was still $2000 over our other estimate. To which she tells me we're probably getting ripped on and getting scammed into the lower grade carpet in that line and flooring. We were getting exactly the same and more from this company. She knocked the price down another $1000, but at this point she was so unprofessional and ignorant that we'd never work with her or this company again. Also, think about this. We got the same carpet and better flooring for under 10k through another small company without some 35% discount and rebate. That means this company is putting such an up charge on their product that your not getting the best bang for your buck. Is that why we weren't provided a line item on the bill? Is that why you wouldn't tell us the cost per square foot on the carpeting and flooring? Based on this experience, I will never work with this company again. read more

We had a great experience with Molyneux. Here is my list of highlights: - Everything happened on time. - They were flexible in scheduling. We appreciated that we were able to set back the dates as we needed to complete a painting project first. - We utilized the financing option and had no issues. The payments were affordable and we paid it off no problem and did not need to pay any interest. - We like the quality of the carpet. It was the perfect solution for our needs. - The installation workers were very friendly and did an excellent job. - Our salesperson, Pat, has been with the company for many years and was also friendly. He helped us make a decision and we did not feel that he was trying to oversell anything. He truly had our best interest in mind and we appreciate that. I have referred Molyneux to friends. Customer service saves the day! To update my previous review, I have to say that there are few places with this level of customer service. About a year had gone by before the owner, Patrick Molyneaux, had contacted me about this. I really did not expect to and figured this issue was long forgotten. I spoke to Patrick directly and he assured me he wanted to make this right and let me determine what I felt was a fair course of action. I had given it some thought and after a couple of email exchanges, my request was granted and Patrick made good on his promise! I have plans to work with Molyneaux in the future and am sure to have a seamless installation and great customer service. The 'design consultant' (salesperson) was not educated on the products they were selling. I do my research on products before making any decisions on purchasing. My first stop was Lowes. I was specifically looking for a nylon carpet as it's relatively common knowledge that it is the most wear resistant carpet and I have very active dogs. At Lowes I saw that most of the carpet material was 'PET'. I asked the associate what PET is and he explained to me that it's 'Polyethylene Terephthalate. A polyester that is made from a blend of recycled plastics and that it won't wear as well as nylon. Hence the lower price tag and shorter warranty (usually 15 years). The nylon carpets usually have a 25 yr and a higher price tag. The next stop was Home Depot. The associate there was also knowledgeable about the different materials. They did not have anything close to the color we were looking for, so our visit was brief. The next stop was Molyneaux. The associates at places like this are more like car salesmen. They meet you at the door and usually start of with questions on color and style. He took us to the shades of gray we were interested in seeing. When we'd find something we liked my wife and I were quick to flip over the swatch to see what material it was made from. Most of them were listed as 'PET'. Armed with the knowledge of what 'PET' I tested the associate. His answer was "That's just what Shaw calls their pet (animal) friendly like of products." I was shocked at his ignorance. Still my wife wanted to move forward with the in-home consultation. We explained to them that we most certainly wanted a Nylon carpet. He said we'd bring out samples in gray to your home so you can see them in your lighting. FFWD to the home visit. The salesperson from the store and an additional associate arrived. They laid out several different swatches and my wife gravitated toward one in particular. Again I flipped it over to view the specifications on the back. It was 'PET'. I told him we specifically instructed the store associate that we wanted nylon. He told me "PET is nylon". After explaining to him that PET is "Polyethylene Terephthalate. A polyester that is made from a blend of recycled plastics", he finally conceded that it was in fact NOT nylon. We specifically requested nylon and they tried to push polyester on us. At this point I had little faith in this company. He continued to push the polyester product claiming that 'modern polyesters made in the last few from Shaw wear just as well as nylon." I told him that would be hard to prove if the product has only been around for a few years, so he told us he could bring back some swatches of nylons in gray colors in a day or two if that's what we want. I asked that he quote us for nylon and a PET/Polyester equivalent anyway. When we received the emailed quote it was confusing to say the least. It was riddled with codes and sketchy line-items. But in the end it's the final price we were looking at. They wanted over $5k for 400 square ft of Nylon 25yr carpet and only a few hundred less for polyester. This was over $2k more expensive than Nylon 25yr Stainmaster carpet from Lowes. We ultimately went with Lowes. The project is complete and met all of our expectations at a much lower price than Molyneaux. Bottom line is that Molyneaux did absolutely nothing to earn our trust let alone our money. read more

I wish that I could write two separate reviews: one for the sales and customer service experience and one for the install team (except the final time a crew was sent; that crew was amazing!). We contacted Molyneaux to have flooring and baseboards installed in two bedrooms and a hallway. Rob C. worked with us through our ever changing decisions-we went from having hardwood installed to having luxury vinyl plank installed and he was kind, patient, and understanding when I changed my mind prior to install. The install team came and completed the install in one day. I noticed issues immediately, such as open nail holes on the baseboards that weren't caulked, no caulk above baseboards, no closet doors were reinstalled, and the floor in the hallway was spongey when you walked on it, flexing quite a bit. I brought this to the attention of the installers before they left to be told "that's how it's supposed to be". They went as far to tell me what caulk to buy and how to fill in the holes. When we tried to hang the closet doors back up ourselves, we realized the baseboards were installed in a way that would not accommodate the doors. We contacted our sales rep, Rob, who immediately had customer service contact us to send a crew out to fix the issues. They came out for a second time (I think the same guy who was here the first time) and were able to fix the baseboards around the closet doors, and caulked, however did a terrible job caulking. It appeared to have been globbed on and not wiped off, a piece of baseboard was installed cracked, and nothing was done with the spongey hallway flooring at that point. Sent pictures to customer service and a crew came out a third time. The hallway was fixed at this point which was great because the pieces, due to the flex, had disconnected. The man caulked and it looked a lot better, but still really globby and there was paint everywhere. The cracked baseboard was not fixed. Its a fine line between micromanaging and trusting someone to do their job and I wished I didn't have to micromanage. Its awkward to tell someone how to do their job when the same person told us "thats how its supposed to be." Spoke with customer service again who agreed to give us a $700 refund (less than 10% but still better than nothing) for the inconvenience of having to have a crew return for a fourth time, and also offered to replace all the baseboards. The last crew came and did a fantastic job with the baseboards, the difference in craftsmanship was night and day. I wished they did the install the first time and this huge headache could have been avoided. Overall we are finally happy with the floors and baseboards that were initially installed in September. It's a real shame about the first three install crew experiences because I have only positive things to say about the sales and customer service staff. read more

They did an ok job for what I consider to be a very expensive kitchen floor. A 200 square foot vinyl kitchen floor shouldn't have cost this much as they just went over our old floor. The job itself took 2 installers less than a day. The sales person didn't explain much to us (ie cost per sq. Foot, what our square footage was etc). I should have asked but this is in hindsight. My main issue was that I was charged half up front on the day of the sale which I guess I get. But the second half was charged before the job was even started! My bank account dropped $1600 a week prior to installation. When I tried contacting them they never replied but mysteriously the money was refunded a few days later. And then when they did come to install they ran out of material and had tried to install the shoe mould that didn't match the trim. I had to point it out to the installers, it wasn't even close, they were going to try to install it without me noticing. Did I mention I had to wait more than 2 weeks to get it finished because they had to order another box of flooring. Anyways not as terrible as this may sound, the installers were professional, the customer care rep was professional and apologetic but I just expected more from a large reputable company. When you pay that much you expect it to be flawless. I probably will not use again or recommend. read more

It's not the same company it used to be when it was a small family business. I ordered carpet for my living dining hall. The installers told me one piece was 6 inches short and blamed the supplier. They left the job pieced together with tape on the carpeting and thresholds unfinished. I cancelled the order and when they came to remove the carpet and pad they left a huge mess of staples that both my dogs and I got cut on. My family has used Molyneaux for 3 decades but this was the last paw print they will leave at my house. read more

She provided us good feedback of how the carpet will perform over the years and how the carpet will look across the steps, livingroom floor and hallway. Allison offered suggestions without 'selling' the carpet. It was a pleasure to work with her. The installers arrived promptly and professionally. I would not recommend this company in general. Spent lots of $$$. Have had issues with Masland carpet that was installed and Molyneaux was useless. Took over two months to tell me the "limited warranty" expired and they would e-mail directions on how to get the stains/marks and discoloration that sometimes appear out of no where. Would not recommend for customer service after the purchase. Have had better follow-up from the big box retailers. read more

Joe was great he was very helpful with helping us choose the right color carpet. The installers showed up on time were very polite however they asked us if they had to wear their masks. It put us in a hard position. I told them I would prefer if they did and they could take frequent breaks outside but especially inside our home our request was for masks to be worn. My husband and I wore our masks while they were here. They didn't wear them. I had to ask again politely but it didn't work. It put us in an uncomfortable position. We are very pleased with the quality of the carpet, there was an issue with a large gap at the bottom of the stairs which they offered to come fix when I called. read more

I heard great things about Molyneaux when deciding who to use for my carpet installation, so I went with them! I was pretty satisfied overall. My design consultant/PM, Michael Cruz, was very helpful, responsive, and professional throughout the process. On the installation day, there were a few hiccups (wrong metal installed at first, crew that came didn't have tools to cut doors as promised), but the crew quickly fixed their mistake that day, and Michael managed to get someone out to my place the next day after installation to cut my doors. I don't know why Molyneaux Tile Carpet Wood has so many different options to choose from - on Yelp - for reviewing. I did notice on one of them, that has only 2 and a half stars, that someone else had the exact same experience we did with a Molyneaux salesperson. When she came out she was very nice, did the measurements, talked to our kids, made the usual compliments on the area (we live in the middle of a private forest) and then left, promising to get back to us with a quote. Still, before she left, almost as a last thought, she handed us articles on how Christian the Molyneaux company is and how much they help Christian charities, etc. We thought her timing was odd...but in retrospect, after she emailed us to inform us that our small area (less than 900 square feet needed to be worked on) would be 13,000 dollars, we realized she was trying to get us to believe that even though they have outrageous prices, they do charity work for people who can't afford their flooring. Well WHO can afford their flooring? We priced the supplies we'd need to do our entire house, at a local Lowes, and the bill came to $2500. So labor with Molyneaux was going to be over 10 THOUSAND dollars??? What's troubling, is that someone else said they got the same quote - so is that what Molyneaux does when it doesn't want to work on a house or are we supposed to dicker the price down? Either way, we found a much better, honest company to do our work for us, and they didn't try to guilt trip us with all the Christian charities they work with either. read more

Bottom line: I am very happy with our choices. Historically, I, personally have not made good flooring choices, so this time, I decided to have a consultant come out with samples. We placed separate orders for a kitchen floor, carpeting in two bedrooms, and a hall floor. I appreciated the pre-meeting call with our "consultant" and shared photos with her to further explain our situation. I was disappointed with how few samples she brought (these were our only options???), and ultimately chose her recommendations. I love the end results and her suggestions were better than I would have chosen without advice, so perhaps fewer options was better. My only disappointment is that I wasn't given options about carpet padding, and it seems a little thin. What drove me CRAZY, however, is how they communicated with me. Because these were three separate orders, they were not treated as one installation "event" by the company. I got multiple phone calls on each: to set up the installation, to remind me of the installation, to tell me when the installers were on their way....too many calls. Why didn't they ask me how I wanted to be communicated with??? I would have preferred texts instead of all the calls at work! And be aware that after 3 days, you cannot change anything without HUGE restocking fees, so don't order til you are sure. Installation ended up being great, but they had to come back, and it took a long time to get that done finally. Everything looks great now, and we are very happy with our choices and the in-home service. read more

TD;DR: Never hire Molyneaux for engineered hardwood floors. This is only about this product; I have never used Molyneaux for any other flooring products, but I will say that after my experience I will never darken their doors for anything. Ever. We purchased engineered hardwood floors approximately 2 1/2 years ago. It was a 4" wide dark stain hand-scraped finish. Upon installation done by Tom and Jerry, we were initially satisfied. However, our satisfaction with the product we purchased, and subsequently Molyneaux's customer service, quickly evaporated. The product scratches extremely easily. We knew that it would be somewhat scratchy, but the marks started nearly immediately. We are a family of four with two male children under the age of 10. We had hoped that the flooring would be sturdier than that. Our major problems came in every area of the house that is remotely near water. Our salesman assured us that it would stand up to the water drips near the sink. That was an outright falsehood. The damage to the floors near the kitchen sink, by the refrigerator, in the powder room and near the dining room table all from water drips is widespread. The veneer is peeling away and looks unsightly. When we called them to take a look at this, they did send out the necessary people, but we were refused by the insurance to take care of it citing the product's standards that it should not be installed near water. While that was definitely irritating, we were unable to do much about it except live with it. Today, however, I found out something new and it is the last straw. There was a small wall dividing our living room and family room. We removed that wall recently, and this morning I started the process of pulling out the flooring so that I could install new pieces. Imagine my disgust when I find that the boards on the left side of the wall were installed with the tongue and groove system REVERSED from the boards on the right side of the wall. I cannot put into words my disgust with Tom and Jerry, the installers, who put the stuff in backwards in one section, and then just moved along. I am going to curse T&J and Molyneaux flooring with every cut I am now being forced to make because of a fouled up installation. I would never recommend engineered hardwood floors to any person for any reason ever again. On the heels of that, now that I am discovering how flawed the installation was, I cannot in good faith ever recommend Molyneaux again. Not only was their salesman completely wrong in assuring us that the product was a good fit for our situation, but now I find their installation was poorly done. read more

Molyneaux was very efficient-- they sent a sales representative to our house, who measured the space to be carpeted, and showed us a few carpet samples. We were able to get an estimate immediately on the sample that seemed most closely to resemble what we were looking for. I went to the sales room to look at some other samples, and the sales rep came back with a few additional options to test in the house. The installation happened (astonishingly) in one business day, about two weeks after we had paid a deposit. They removed old carpeting, moved a substantial amount of furniture, and cut the old carpet into small enough pieces to get our trash people to take it away, which I had been skeptical of. It is VERY difficult to do comparison shopping with carpet installation, because contractors will sometimes charge by the square foot for carpeting and then separately for padding, charge for moving furniture and carpet removal, etc. Molyneaux bundled the costs into one price estimate for the full job, which some people may prefer, others may not. It was hard to assess whether we were paying more specifically for labor or for the carpet or for padding than the competition, and what the quality of the carpet was compared to what we were looking at with the competition, as they all stock somewhat different brands. That said, it was very reasonably priced, and the service was well done, so I chose Molyneaux over the competition that we got an estimate from. I would certainly be willing to reach out to Molyneaux if we were doing another flooring job. read more

I stopped at two of the showrooms to get an idea what it would cost me to do re carpet my living room, stairs and upstairs hallway. I had the dimensions with me. I wanted to pick out a couple of carpets I liked then get a close estimate of what I had to spend. The sales people would not give me a price on any of the carpets. They would say it was between $8 and $16 per square foot. All they wanted to do is sign me up to have an in home sales person come to my house with samples. This I can only imagine is to high pressure me to get what they want me to have and at their price. I stay away from places that won't give me a price on their product but want me to invite them into my home. read more

Not impressed :( Knew some folks that used molyneaux without any issues, so we decided to try them. Salesman assured us their installers were A+ After the installation, I found númerous issues - service rep came out to review and made some repairs to installation. Said he was going to talk to management about issue - never heard from anyone. A few months later noticed another issue and called service. Reviewed complaints with the service rep and he agreed the install was not up to their standards - one of the main issues is that the steps weren't properly cut and the carpet did not fit flush. This time someone did call me back and offered to replace the stairs but could not guarantee color match, so he was to "talk to someone" to see about refunding us some money. Finally after about two weeks we received a call offering us $150. I had asked if that was the cost of a new install for the stairs and he replied no but that was all owners were willing to compensate us. Had an issue with the flooring I purchased on Dec 18. Called my sales rep on Dec 20 to ask how I could exchange the floor (I didn't want my money back; I just want a different style) She said she couldn't help, but she would forward my informatiokn to their customer service department to handle my request. She said it would take one to two weeks. It's been over three weeks now without a response. When I called my rep again she didn't answer so I left her a voicemail which she hasn't returned.
