What a novel concept providing better service in the busy season! I think I have found the location to service my Honda lawn mower and these guys are it. They told me that they might get my mower back to me today when I dropped off this morning at 11:00am... And at 2:30 this afternoon there was the message that it was completed. Now lets compare to the shop where I purchased the mower... The promise this morning when i called was for two weeks. Vs the three hours I got here ?? I think not! And just to put the icing on the cake, the parts they replaced were in a little bag on my mower when I picked it up. Yeah, I did put an innocuous little mark in the air cleaner before I left home. Reasonably priced honest lawnmower repair and service. I had a belt slip on my 5+ year old Toro recycling mower earlier this season. AA was listed as the 2nd Toro-certified dealer/repairer in my area, and I was familiar with their location, so I gave them a whirl. The repair process is straightforward -- if it's $100 or less, they do the repair and charge you. If it's more than $100, they will inform you and give you the option of getting it done or paying a $40 diagnostic fee. I was quoted originally a high price of $150 for my repair. I was also going to have to buy a new bag for $50, so I was looking at $200. Within 3-4 days of dropping the Toro off, I was called and informed the repair was $60+ and the mower was ready to go. They replaced the air filter, tightened some things up and reseated the belt for the self propel function. I believe they also tuned/tweaked the self propel cabling so it worked more cleanly. The price was reasonable, given that I'd have spent hours trying to do it myself, and I got a working mower for $110+ (with the new bag -- they sell accessories on site) rather than spending $300 on a new unit from Home Depot. They also offered to buy the unit from me sans the $40 diagnostic fee if I didn't want to pay for a more expensive repair. I could've bought a new Toro there to boot -- they sell the more expensive personal pace mower starting at $400 and up. One other thing to note -- while I was there, I saw a lot of people going in and out -- everyone from day laborers getting their riding mowers fixed to a lady with a 10 year old Craftsman push mower. What I gathered was that this place is fair and does quality work. The staff was courteous and answered my questions honestly. If you need a mower -- especially a Toro -- repaired, go here first. If you're hungry or thirsty after you drop it off, there's a sports bar and a Greek place nearby. read more

I have a 10-year old Honda Lawnmower that I had serviced last year. I couldn't find the receipt to call the company that worked on it so I googled their name. When I found them (an East Cobb company) their reviews were overwhelmingly negative. I thought about my service; nothing really negative, but no real excitement there either. So I looked further down the list and saw AA Power Equipment. Their reviews were all positive (and even the few that were not had responses from the owners--that showed me that they cared). As a small-business owner myself I know that you sometimes can't please people (even as an Atlanta real estate attorney!) so I thought I'd give them a chance. I had run over something large as I finished my first mow of the year; I thought my blade was a goner, and some protective cover was bent a bit and scraping the ground. Likewise, the 'power drive' was not working (it actually stopped working last year not long after getting it serviced at that other place now that I remember...). AA advertised a very reasonable price for a tuneup; I still expected more costs (a new blade? extras for the 'drive'?) and was told it would be about a week. I got a call a few days later; it was ready! The charge? ONLY the tune-up fee! They were able to correct the protective cover 'thing' and only had to sharpen the blade. The drive function was evidently an adjustment as well. Bottom line, they COULD have charged me for all these things I considered extra, but they did the RIGHT thing and it was all part of the regular tune-up. I took a trimmer and chain saw here that weren't working. Paid $50 each just to have them look at them (could put that towards repairs if they were able to fix the items). They called and said they couldn't get either working or repaired. I picked them up and had someone else look at them. The trimmer was not fixable but the chain saw started on the second try after basic trouble shooting. Makes me wonder if they even looked at the chain saw after seeing the trimmer couldn't be repaired. Total waste of $100. read more

I did my own tune up but the engine wouldn't start so I took it to AA, I told them I did my own tune up but it still didn't start. They called me to tell me that it would be $90 for a carburetor replacement and $70 for a tune up. I told them I already did a tune up and all I needed was a carburetor. They did the carburetor change and when I got the blower home it would not start. They told me it needed a tune up to start every time. I did my own tune up and found that they did not connect the spark plug completely which I fixed with a simple press of my thumb. Either they are incompetent at basic repair or were hoping I was ignorant enough to bring it back to take $70 from me to push down on a spark plug connector. If I wanted to pay $160 for a carburetor repair I would have bought a new blower. read more

Got my lawnmower running again in time for spring. Not only did they fix it and it is running better than it ever has but they cleaned it up so much that I didn't even recognize it. Update for my previous review: as a result of my review I was contacted by the service and sales manager for AA Power Equipment. He has clarified the issue with me and refund me for the lawn mower. I appreciate the professional way in which he has managed my case and update my rating accordingly. Original review: I purchased a used lawn mower from AA Power Equipment at Roswell and discovered, at the first use, that it's broken! They convinced me to purchase the used mower, claiming that it works fine. After working with it for about 10 minutes I have found that it isn't the case - It was consistently turned off every 2 minutes. When I called them to clarify the issue I didn't get a substantive response. In addition, they refused to refund me for the entire amount (offered only ~30% of the refundable amount). For me - they have failed in integrity! I will never work with them again! read more

I've been very pleased with AA Power. The store is clean, the employees are nice and they provide clear information (both verbally and in writing). I can't truly comment on the pricing because I haven't taken my equipment anywhere else for servicing. The prices on equipment seem reasonable and in line with what's out there. I believe they have periodic deals on tuneups (e.g., small discounts, or discounts for multiple items). I did buy a used hedge trimmer that died after 2 years, but I think that's a risk when buying used equipment. So far, I plan to continue using AA Power for tuneups even though they are about 20 minutes away. read more

Great honest service! I took my Honda push lawnmower there on Saturday because it wouldn't start. They called me on Monday and it was ready to go. I asked if they could sharpen the blade and they did it on the spot in five minutes. This is the best repair experience I have ever had. I am now looking to purchase an Echo combo edger/trimmer from them to replace my Craftsman which lasted less than two seasons. This place is great! I went to Yelp first and read all the reviews and wanted to follow up. AA picked up and dropped off 2 push mowers that I had. I had an issue with one and they promptly came out the same day (their pickup/delivery day) and started the mower before taking it back to the shop. Turns out I let it sit too long but the young girl got it started right away!!! On phone and in person employees are knowledgeable and nice! Prices were fantastic and the job was done quickly. After Phoenix Lawn Mower service gave me the run around for over a month and then gave me back the wrong mower that could not be repaired, I took it over to AA Power. I have used them in the past, but decided to try the new service that was on my way to work. My bad. I arrived at AA Power 5 minutes after closing. They let me in and helped me figure out that I indeed was duped and given the wrong mower. By this time I was desparate for another mower. Since I had no choice but to buy another, I decided to buy a Honda mower from them as the price was the same as The Home Depot and they had 18 months financing. This all took quite a bit of time to do. Lewis, the person who was working with me, showed no sign of impatience and I kept him there until 7:30. I will never stray from them again. Do not go here. I am extremely disappointed with the service or lack there of from this place. I brought a trimmer for repair and was told it needed a new carburetor. The carburetor was supposedly replaced and in working condition. A few months later I attempted to use it for the first time and it didn't run. The same symptoms prior to the repair. Returned trimmer and was told that it was outside of 30 day warranty period and was given an excuse that the carburetor could have gone bad because fuel was left in it. Was charged again to clean and adjust carburetor. Picked up trimmer and was smart enough to test before I left. Same issue - won't run so obviously no one checked. After no update from the company I finally called and was told the carburetor would be replaced. After supposedly replacing again it now runs but won't shut off. Now I'm being told that it can be looked at but will be charged to fix. Are you serious? This place is a joke please do not go here. read more

I had a weed wacker that needed a general tune up. Upon reading the reviews for this store, I felt confident in their prices and decided to have it serviced here. During the quote they told me my fuel line needed to be replaced, though I had no problems with it before and it was tightly attached when I took it in. On returning home after the repair, I smelled gas in my car and found a puddle of gasoline in my seat: the fuel line wasn't even attached. After returning, I was offered nothing for having to go out of my way in response to a bad repair. After a few weeks time, and the second time using it since the repairs, the pull rope snapped: clearly it hadn't even been looked at! What is a $60.38 general tuneup worth if they can't check such a basic part? After a short conversation, the management at this location would not even consider comping the labor to fix the part. I am truly disappointed by my service here and would not recommend it. Other reviews talk about the good customer service, but it is clear to me the higher ups could care less about their customers. I want to write them a good review, but until they make amends, I cannot. EDIT 7/10/15 - In response to reply: Correct, the fuel lines was listed as a recommended repair and I declined because they were attached and not leaking before I took the weed wacker in for the repair. Please do not act as if you do your customers a service by giving them '$65 in repairs free' on parts that were not broken before the item was taken to you. In regards to the pull rope failure, I fixed the item quite easily myself for $5 rather than paying the $59 a manager of this location quoted me over the phone. Upon inspection, the broken pull rope was clearly in a bad way and no repair man would have overlooked its poor state. Thank you for your response, but any self-respecting customers will be quite disappointing by your best efforts. read more

I paid $126.79 to repair my pressure washer. They drained the fuel, did a fuel flush, and replaced the carburetor. I picked up the equipment on 5/1/2017. On 6/17/2017, I got all geared up to pressure wash and the pressure washer wouldn't start. Both my husband and I tried to start it many times over the course of two days to no avail. It was behaving in the same way as when we took it to AA. I called AA Power Equipment and left a message stating such. On the second day of trying to get it to work, my husband watched several Youtube videos, drained the fuel that was in the pressure washer when I picked it up from AA (which was weird because I had paid for a fuel flush). He took the equipment apart and it was all gummed up inside. He spent a very long time cleaning everything and putting it all back together. Once he did that, we added the ethanol-free gas we had purchased and the equipment started right up. On 6/19/2017, I received a call from AA. I explained the situation and they began to explain how they did replace the carburetor and that is why they gave me the old one---to prove it. I explained that I didn't doubt that. My concern was that I had paid for a fuel flush yet there was fuel in the equipment. She defensively told me that they had to put gas in there to try it out after they had fixed it. Again, this made sense to me. I asked if the fuel they had added was ethanol free (as regular fuel tends to gunk up small engines hence the problem we had in the first place). She said it wasn't but that they had added fuel stabilizer. She then started explaining to me (in a very demeaning way) how this was all my fault because I was supposed to use the equipment right after I picked it up. I told her that no one told me that and it had only been six weeks. She said that if I wasn't going to actually use the equipment, then I should have run the engine dry right away. I asked why I wasn't told this. She again stated that everyone knows that and it is common knowledge! Here is the problem. 1) I paid for a fuel flush and was given a pressure washer which I assumed had no fuel in it. 2) My pressure washer didn't work when I tried to use it. 3) My husband fixed it and the problem my pressure washer had was most likely caused by fuel containing ethanol. 4) AA Power Equipment admitted that they added said fuel containing ethanol but said they added stabilizer as well. 5) When I picked up the equipment, I was not told there was fuel in the pressure washer. I was not told that I needed to use it "right away" or that I needed to run it dry right away. 6) And, lastly, if the ethanol-containing fuel they added did indeed have stabilizer in it as they stated, then why did the engine become gummed up in only six weeks? I asked for a refund for the labor component of my bill since my husband had to re do the labor. They refused and repeated the message that it was all my fault, not theirs. read more

I brought my John Deere riding mower in for service in late March because it would not start. I specifically stated that I believed the problem to be electrical. I explained in detail the trouble shooting steps I had already taken, but to no avail. I was told there was a $90 deposit to diagnose the problems and that it would be credited towards any needed repairs. I received a call about a week later informing that the solenoid, a fuse and starter needed to be replaced. I agreed to the service and was allowed to supply a new-in-box starter that I already owned. The total would run about $250 less my $90 deposit. I received another call a week later advising that the mower still would not start after they made the repairs and that they wanted another $200 to diagnose it further because it was "an electrical problem" and they were very busy. I was not happy with this news as it was contrary to my expectations. I asked to speak with the owner. I was told he was not available. I asked his name and was told they were not allowed to give that information to customers. I told them I was dissatisfied with how they were handling things and that I would take the mower to a different shop for service. That shop quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem at a much lower cost. I used AA Power Equipment several years ago without problem. This last encounter was quite unsatisfactory. read more

Brought my pressure washer in for service as it was not running on full power. There were a few issues and I accepted all their recommendations and had them do the services. After spending over $200, I brought my pressure washer home. I finally got a chance to use it a few weeks later, and to my surprise, I could not get it started. I brought it back in for another look and after 1 week, was told it had a bad started and it would be another $100 to get it running. When I asked why that wasn't identified initially, they attributed it to freak timing, and it must have broke between picking it up and trying to use it the first time. Needless to say, I didn't move forward with the additional service. Bottom line - unit was working when I brought it in, paid $200 for service and was given a unit that will not start. No more. Been customer for over 10 years but now searching for a new shop. A few years ago, the gave me the wrong carburetor cover after a tune up. Told me, it's the one that was on the cultivator when I brought it in. Not true at all. But i sucked it up as not that big of a deal. Most recently, i asked for them to replace an edger blade and while it was in, do a normal tune-up. Paid $40 in advance. I received a call that the job was completed. When i showed up, the blade was not changed (which they didn't mention) and when I pointed this out, they told me they couldn't do the job. Surprising, but why complete a tune-up when the blade couldn't be changed? Had paid a deposit up front and was told, they would call if over $100. No call except that the job was done. I asked for an explanation and the desk person asked the service manager and the service manager gave a weak explanation from her chair in the back room - not even the courtesy to come to the customer area to discuss it. They offered to "Undo" the tune up but why wait another two weeks for them to get to it? I need a new mower shop! read more

Who can complain about on-time service and a package price for the blade sharpening, oil change, etc. -- saved many dollars over doing it separately. And, who doesn't take care of your Honda lawnmower, after all of the years of good service it provides. It's the least I can do. They can be difficult to locate since they are on the side of a long building, so be sure to phone before you visit. When I visited, they had tables of folks packing shipping boxes -- maybe they also do an Internet-based business? I'm not sure, but for lawnmower repair -- they were great. read more

In March, just when the spring time started, I took my Toro 3.5HP mower to be fixed because it had 3 problems. First, it was very hard to start. Secondly, it leaked fuel from the fuel cap. Last but not least, the blade didn't cut well (after 2.5 years of use). They offered me to get the "Tune Up Package" and after they investigated the "hard to start" problem they said the carburetor has to be replaced because the Ethanol in the fuel harmed it. All in all it cost $158. That's about half the price of buying a new mower, so I thought with all this I'd get my mower fixed to be good as new. After about a week they called me to pick it up. When I went to mow my lawn with my Toro it started in one pull, but after 10 min of work the engine started chocking from time to time with black smoke coming out from the exhaust pipe. It was cutting the grass well, but I noticed it continued to leak fuel from the fuel cap. I took the mower back to be checked. I left it there for another week and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They replaced the fuel cap. I took back the mower, but it continued to behave as before... chocking from time to time after 10-15 min of work. I didn't take it back because I felt they don't believe me and they didn't make an effort to test it enough. I guess they are good for the basic "Tune Up Package" but when it comes to replacing parts you may not get the original parts and might experience new issues. read more
