I initially reached out to a few places. It was easy to schedule an appointment with Bay Custom. Frank came to my house with samples. He was very knowledgeable and gave me good practical advice on the details. His quiet was also competitive. I remember another place estimated one extra slab for my project even though their price per slab was good. After I double-checked, they figured they could save one slab by doing some special layout! Another great thing I had with Bay Custom was that my project was to replace the existing kitchen countertop. I heard that I had to living without countertops for 3-4 weeks before the new ones are installed, as fabricators usually can only take measurements for fabrication after I remove the old countertops. But Frank had this new technology that he can take measurements without me having to remove old countertops first. So I literally only had less than a day without countertops in my kitchen throughout the project. It was a life saver! :) The customer service was also great. I had a minor issue on one small part of the surface. So I messaged Frank. He showed at my house the same day! It was a small defect from the manufacturer. He helped me to contact the manufacturer and get the issue fixed fairly quickly! Overall, it was a great product, project quality, and customer service. Highly recommend this place!

They may be fine for small tiling jobs, or a cheap kitchen flip that you don't care about the quality but anything beyond that is a mistake. Project Experience: -Disorganized & Poor Communication: Ruben, the contractor, constantly miscommunicated with his crew, leading to errors and wasted time. The crew speaks limited English, and Ruben failed to properly relay instructions. -Constant Rescheduling & Delays: The project was plagued with intentional delays because they were trying to juggle randoms crew members to the job site. They do not have a dedicated crew. To keep the job moving, I had to step in and install my stove hood myself. Quality of Work: -Minimal Supervision & Costly Mistakes: Ruben was only on-site for 30 minutes to an hour a day. The crew made frequent errors, wasted materials, and ultimately cost me an extra $5,000 in materials. Unprofessional Workmanship: -A crew member (Adrian) improperly used self-leveling, causing mortar to seep through walls and doors. -The same worker almost set my kitchen on fire due to incorrect wiring. -A junior crew member (Manuel) threw away new materials, further increasing costs. -My husband and I had to redo the wall texture they applied because it was done so poorly. -The countertop was improperly installed (by Victor), leading to a post-installation crack. The contractor promised to fix it but was a no-show, wasting an entire day of our time. -The dishwasher was incorrectly installed (Ricardo), requiring my husband to take a day off to reinstall it. Material Pricing & Usage: The contractor ordered materials on my behalf, but the pricing changed and was increased without transparency. The crew also took materials I paid for to use on other job sites. Also on two occasions, we had to order more tiles at 3x the cost because all the measurements were incorrect. Other Issues: -The crew trashed and clogged our bathroom toilet. They denied responsibility until I installed a camera--only then did the issue stop. -Never reimbursed or refunded for damages and extra expenses. Final Verdict: Ruben is a nice guy and means well, but his company is not equipped for big jobs (over $10K). If you have a small bathroom tile job, they might be fine, but anything beyond that--find a better contractor. We rushed to finish the project just to be done with them, and in hindsight, we should have hired someone else from the start. Do not make the same mistake we did. 2/5 - Would not recommend for major home renovations. Recommend for small jobs only.

Our Island and counter top turned out so fabulous. As soon as I figure out how to upload the pictures of our new kitchen, you will be able to take a look at the craftsmanship. After getting estimates and searching for quality work to be done on our kitchen granite, I gave Bracho a call. I'm so glad I did! Not only did they do a fantastic job, but Henry saved us close to $3k over the other contractors. That made me happy because we needed to cut some cost, but I still wanted great quality. Henry is a genius when it comes to matching the granite design. I would never have been able to visualize this as well as he. Its a worrisome deal when you pay so much for beautiful granite slabs and then have it cut and you know it needs to be done right the 1st time. Well, Henry is your man for this! He has so much experience with designs that for him, it is easy to help you choose good pattern matches and flows. He also understands why it can be sort-of stressful to decide on the cut (for the home owner) AND he works with you to figure it out for yourself. Although, I have to say, he knew the correct way to cut the pieces all along. It just took me a while to understand how the matching up of the flow would ultimately end up. After they templated the countertops and came back with the fabricated granite, they installed it to perfection. There was one small 4" backsplash (we had full backsplash on the rest) that we asked if they minded redoing as a 6" from another part of the remaining granite. We decided we preferred a 6" backsplash and found a piece that would match really well. Henry accommodated the request with no problem whatsoever. His main focus was that he wanted US to be happy with the end results. So, we removed the 4" splash (it had only been on the wall for a handful of hours so the bonding cement had not fully dried) without any problems. The next day they came back and picked up the granite piece with the template I had made and prefabricated and installed the new 6" splash without any additional charges. Also, they did not charge us for a special drill bit they had to buy in order to create a 3/8" hole for the fibre optic remote controller garbage disposal switch we got for the new sink area (by the way, the remote switch is super low profile and is definitely the way to go as far as helping to unclutter the sink spout area and is far nicer than the stupid switch we had on the wall, here's where I discovered this option on amazon in case your interested: http://www.amazon.com/Waste-King-FRC-4016-Fiber-Controller/dp/B002B38KM4/ref=pd_bxgy_hi_text_b) I've rambled on long enough! Some messaged me back, some gave very minimal responses, some places had high prices, some didn't have time for all of my questions. This is the first time I've done any countertop work and I did a lot of research on many different places and scoured the Hayward/San Leandro area and beyond to look at different countertops, designs, etc. Alvaro always responded to all my messages and emails. Every single time. Sometimes my messages would be weeks apart. When I finally made my decision to go with him, it was well over a month from when I first contacted him. He stuck with me all along the way and that left an impression on me, especially in this type of business. I had a few strange questions about different options and configurations of the counters and he was always responsive with open and honest opinions and information. Once I finally picked out my material, he met me at the shop where I purchased the counter to check out the material and he helped me make sure we were getting a good piece that wasn't too warped. All of this helped reassure me that he approved of my selection and that his trained eye could notice things that I wouldn't be able to notice on my own. He picked up the slab with his truck and took it off to fabricate and cut. He showed up a few days later for the install and it was done in no time. Oh, I forgot to mention that he stopped by and did a consultation and looked everything over and provided a ton of really helpful advice and analysis of the job, how he would suggest doing it, what he wouldn't suggest etc. He also brought some samples with him for me to check out and offered a great price on countertops that he already had on hand.
